  • it's been a super productive week of working on some crochet projects and starting a knitting kit from Wool and the Gang. Besides this, I went through lots of home updates, painting the flat, moving some furniture around and grabbing a couple bits of FB marketplace. I tried on a few frames from BlooBloom and finally made a start on my back tattoo plus I finally got back into reading! Definitely a crazy busy week, but lots of good progress :)

    I've been reading more as well this year in order to move away from knit and crochet a bit. I found that knitting and crocheting all the time was giving me a "more more more" mindset. I would finish a project and immediately do another one and then another and then another and never really feeling content with actually finishing. I've been reading to slow down my knitting & crochet and to make less. It's felt so good. And I have my whole life to make things, so I feel good about having longer periods of time without working on anything. It's also making me more mindful about what I make and creating a smaller but more intentional wardrobe. I would recommend reading!

      This is such a lovely comment, thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s crazy isn’t it how such a wholesome hobby like knitting & crocheting can turn into something so stressful. I think it’s nice to have mulitple hobbies, especially as a creative person!

    Congrats on your back tattoo. Glad you had better experience this time. Ask your tattoo artist about what numbing cream you can use the next session if you want to be more comfortable. I did a big back piece without numbing cream. I have had two kids (with an epidural) and I'd rather have another kid instead of a 4 hour back tattoo without numbing cream 🤣

    I second the comment about trying your library for audiobooks! In the states we have the Libby app and it's great. You save so much money. And it makes me very giddy when a book I've been waiting for finally comes into my queue and I can listen to it

    Hi aver, I just recently got I knitting machine, but im so lost in learning how to use it😢. Do you have any recommendations of tutorials? Or how did you learn to use your machine?

    • @averpaula
      @averpaula  5 месяцев назад +1

      I learned by watching RUclips videos and looking up specific issues I was having to solve them and learn! Honestly the best advice I can give it to just give it a go and overcome the initial fear of getting it wrong. My projects during the first 6 months of using my machine were mainly fails and super simple projects, and eventually I got braver and more experienced to try new things.

    Remember audiobooks *are* reading! There's no such thing as actually reading verses reading audiobooks - because that would mean people with any kind of impairments to reading physical books didn't read 😅 it's about taking in the story/information, not about your eyes looking at scribbles ❤
