Is through foster care or a stepparent adoption the only way to adopt a non-infant? Coz you specified "baby" the whole video. Could I adopt say a toddler or a teen through an agency or internationally?
I’m 13 but I chose I wanted to adopt since I was 7 years old. I want to give a child the chance of a good life that they lost when given up 🤍🤍 I want to adopt a child to be my own for ever and ever
Like she said, if you're adopting from the foster system, you don't pay any more than some basic administrative fees. It's the private adoption agencies where you really pay - for admin, legal and basically because they have people working there who need to get paid so they can have a roof over their heads.
I've been sure I wanted to adopt since I was a young teen, if not earlier. I lived next to a foster home my whole childhood, and it really taught me a lot. I may be able to have a biological child, but I've never felt the need or desire to and I'm 23 now. I know that can change at any time, but I've always felt way more passionate about giving a child a home, who otherwise may not have a home. I'm not sure I'm ready yet but I'm starting to research now so I'll be ready when the time comes.
That's wonderful @ariL. I’d like to share my thoughts with you and how you can save a significant amount of time and still get all the relevant and accurate information you need about adoption so you can start your adoption journey confidently. Let me know when we can hop on a quick call!
i dont understand why it's so costly to adopt a child or a baby when there's a need to adopt. New mothers who don't want babies or abandoned children. i mean, there's s many reasons. But why do much ??? 40 thousand to give a child a better life?
When im older, im looking to going to college, go to doctor school, and becoming a pediatrician. So after i get all that done im gonna be able to afford a baby 😄
There shouldn’t be any price on a child or a baby because they should be priceless then being 8000 dollars should be happy people take them in and treat them as their own
I want to adopt so bad lol. I’m 15 right now but got baby fever LOL I just want one son in life😩 I mean I’ll be happy with a daughter too but I want to name my son Malachi or Caleb
Totally see why they don't have family prevention as a priority and that's because they profit so much $10k to 40k is insane. But if you love that kid there's going to be nothing that will stop you.
The numbers you gave are WILDLY different than the ones we were told this week. Adoption is the only way that we'll ever get to raise anyone, and the prices we read yesterday were absolutely devastating to me.
Hi Heather. I am so sorry to hear that. I know the price can be exorbitant. But there are so many ways you can fund your adoption! There are grants, the tax credit and so much more. check out my video on how to fund your adoption. I have read stories of HAPs who have adopted for free. Also, I have bootcamp coming up for for first-time HAPs who don't know where to start. I think it would be perfect for you!

This adoptee is a parent and a step parent . I will say there's never enough money whether you adopt or have your own . YOUR HEART IS THE GREATEST COST ,
You probably shouldn’t be having that kid I hope you don’t if you can’t afford to come up with the amount whether its 1000 dollars or 10 grand don’t adopt you’re gonna pay more in the long run same as if you had the baby yourself it’s a fact most children after 13 will never be adopted due to being to old.
Hi Lucrece, I had a friend from high school ask me to adopt her baby. She has been born as a premie and is still in the hospital. I am wanting to take the steps to adopt but am unsure what what kind of adoption this would be. Can you help? Who should I contact next
You will need an experienced adoption lawyer in your state to represent you and your friend will need her own separate lawyer representing her. Try adoptionart.org to find a list of experienced adoption lawyers :). Good luck to you!
I'm 20 but I wont be having kids until I'm 25. I wanna have 1 or 2 biologically and adopt another 1 or 2. I think its important to adopt children. Having children shouldn't be something that people just do because they want a "little me" or any other trivial reasons. I mean of course that can be apart of someone's reasoning but I think as a society we need to be putting more importance and seriousness on bringing children into this world. And knowing how expensive adoption is, the number of foster children who go "missing" and/or are trafficked is so disheartening and makes me realize how little our society gives personhood to these tiny people and treats them as commodities and pets. If you are choosing to bring a child into the world, make sure you're able to understand the full and life time job you're giving yourself

Hi! My husband and I are both 21 and we have a one year old son. We are both very interested in adopting the rest of our kids within the next few years. We are waiting to buy a house, and for our son to be at least 3 or 4 years old before we start the process. If we did foster care to adoption, do you know how large that time window can be? I know with private domestic adoption it can take a few years.
That’s a great question - there are actually many more options to adopt than people realize! So it’s hard to give the best answer without knowing more about your family’s goals. I’ve found what usually what works best is filling out a form with the most important pieces for me to know and then based on that information we can get on a call to explain the next best step. Would that be helpful? I know there’s a lot of confusing/conflicting info on Google that can make things a bit overwhelming so let me know and I’ll send it over!
What about wanting to adopt a kid anywhere from age 2-7 years old? Is it possible to foster them first and then fully adopt them? Is it possible to adopt a kid 2-7 years old without fostering them first as well? Are all kids who are in the foster care system have parents and or family who are alive or are any kids in the system kids with no living family at all?
We would like to adopt someone we know their baby. They’re homeless and she’s already surrendered her last baby. How much would this cost. I know she would sign the baby over. We would still need a home study I assume.
This information surprises me. Me and my wife have done foster care for 6 years now with the hopes of one day growing are family. Google will tell you that the average is private adoption runs about 40k$. Which I think most families can’t afford. If your saying the cost is actually one fourth that it changes things. My question is where is the discrepancy. Why are your cost different then the national average?
The national average is just that...an average. I have had adoptive parents adopt for less than $20k. It all depends in what adoption professional you choose, whether you self-match etc
I think we are heading towards agency adoption. We have been fostering for seven years. Back then it wasn’t really feasible for us to save 40k. But now it’s more attainable. It’s going to take some time and hard work.
It's is so interesting that you can only adopt an older child from the foster care system in the US. I've always wanted to adopt, and when I am an established adult I want to adopt some older children/teens, and it seems that I have to go through the foster care system to do so. I am just worried about the children still having their birth parents in their lives- can you go through an orphanage in the foster care system? I'm not sure if that would be labeled private adoption or not. Just curious, as this is at least a decade away for me.
Also, whenever I have mentioned my wanting to adopt a child, the response is usually "I felt that way when I was younger too", or "adoption is very expensive", and it's good to know that foster adoption isn't very expensive !
It may cost more since you'll probably have to do some traveling but as far as the adoption itself, since it's covered by the state, it's not going to cost anymore than if you adopted in your own state. Are you seriously looking into adopting out of foster care right now?
@@Lucrecebundy This makes sense, thank you! My husband and I will be looking to begin the adoption process 1.5 years from now, so we are beginning our preliminary research. As per your advice, we are doing serious contemplation right now, as preferring a newborn adoption would mean a private domestic adoption, whereas preferring a toddler adoption could allow us to foster care adopt.

Why give a damn about a tax credit ? IT"S A HUMAN BEING !!!!! I'm adopted and You sound like a selfish cheapskate .
@@Lucrecebundy I’m interested!
I am 14 year boy from Bangladesh
What about wanting to adopt a kid anywhere from age 2-7 years old? Is it possible to foster them first and then fully adopt them? Is it possible to adopt a kid 2-7 years old without fostering them first as well? Are all kids who are in the foster care system have parents and or family who are alive or are any kids in the system kids with no living family at all?
My mom doesn’t want to adopt, but I do want so badly even though I’m nine years old😢😢😢😢
I want to adopt but adopting is pricey right now so guess it’ll always be a dream lol😂
We would like to adopt someone we know their baby. They’re homeless and she’s already surrendered her last baby. How much would this cost. I know she would sign the baby over.
We would still need a home study I assume.
I need to make an adjustment gross anual income of $214,000 to legally adopt my stepson?! 😰
No. She said you can't make more than that to get the maximum tax credit.
@@creakystaircase Oh. Okay that makes sense.
Foster child ❤
You were incorrect with the international adoption in Ukraine adoptions only cost 12000 and up
I wana adopt a baby from my brother who's is living back home how to do that?
Hello! Great question :) your best bet is talking to an international adoption agency
Would adopting a child out of foster care from a different state than mine be more expensive than doing a foster care adoption within my own state?
My ex wife gave my daughter up with out talking to me. And adoption agency didnt contact me. How do I find my daughter.. I did not sign anything so I should still have my rights. What's my next step. In texas
I want to adopt my 13 year old grandson the parents agree so I want to know how much can it cost he lives in Mexico and I live in California
Hi ,

Does it green card owner eligible the adopt the child in USA ?
How can you adopt an infant from a friend? The baby is already here and she literally gave me the baby. Right now we have a temp guardianship paper work done? Have can we change it to adoption
I was adopted and I have always wanted to go spin a night with my birth parents and they told me that I couldn’t is that true?
So you can't adopt a child in foster care unless you are a foster parent?
Hi I have a friend who wants me to adopt her child. One reason is she has other kids and simple just can’t afford another child. What do you think cost of the adoption will be and where do we need to start
Hi @Brittany! That's a great question. This would be a private adoption since she is not working with an adoption agency. That means that you will be using adoption lawyers to help you with the adoption. What state do you live in and what state does your friend live in?
Lucrece Bundy we both live in Alabama
@@brittanyg1000 Ok. go to adoptionart.org and find an experienced adoption attorney in your state that can help. You will need a separate attorney than your friend. Also, you will need to start your adoption homestudy right away :) Let me know how the process goes :)
Will do!!
Just take the baby 😂🤦🏾♀️
I am in California I wanna adopt an adoption. In a different state in Alaska? She not an infant, she is 14 years old ? How much would be ? I need help? How much will it cost?
Hello, unfortunately, I do not know what the exact cost of the adoption would be...you will need to reach out to an adoption lawyer in your state and go from there
Hey @Lupeavalos! How’s everything going since we last spoke?! Well, the reason that I’m reaching out is because I’m launching a new hands-on group coaching program in 2 weeks on how to start your adoption process in less than 6 weeks even if you have no idea where to start. I think you may be perfect for it, if you want to chat about it! I'd love to hop on a call with you and chat more about this :)
What is the step parent has the consent of the birth patent, why would they have to pay to adopt their child?
Hi miss bundy I'm your #1 fan does 2 dad's count for adopting an orphan child
Hello, this is all depending on the country you're adopting from. Each country have their own rules about who can adopt an orphan in their country.

Hey sister.please I have a question

I want to adopt a child when I have my own place because I never tried before and I wanna know how it feels.
You make it sound like trying on a pair of shoes ! I'm adopted and that insults Me greatly .
What is the reason why adopt through foster care free to little money?? Why does the state pay for it?
Hi Emily. It's because the state is the legal guardian for foster children. So they pay for the adoption
@@Lucrecebundy hi! Okay so why don't parents who have guardian ship first before giving up their kids for adoption pay for it since they were theirs? Sooo... basically the state can do whatever they want? Which is good and bad...
I want to adopt 2 kids when I am older ❤
I guess everything is a business when you look at it, it’s not just about trying to help a kid have a better life

Does a new born child goes to Foster Care if it's parents died and it doesn't have any relatives ?
Is it possible to take a new born from Foster Care ?
the answer depends on the specific situation
Hi. New subscriber here. Is there a way to adopt domestically without the mom choosing to give us her baby? I want to adopt but I want to choose my own baby. We thought about adopting internationally but, that is way too expensive. Thank you for the information.
Hi Lorena. Great question. Unfortunately, you are at the mercy of a birth mom choosing you if you want to adopt domestically. You can definitely look into foster care or international adoption instead!

Look into Australia's adoption laws. Are you allowed to adopt outside of Australia?
I have a question my husbands cousin is planning to put her baby up for adoption and wants us to adopt the baby. How much and what ways to go about this legally
Go to court and have her give you guys custody rights of her child
You will need a lawyer to represent you and another lawyer to represent her to make sure the adoption is done legally. How is it going?
Is there any pros/cons to going through a private person versus an agency?
