Absolutely! Such an easy upgrade that makes a huge impact! Thanks for watching❤️❤️
I’m so excited to add plants and shrubs to the front of our new home! Thanks for these amazing tips!
Depending on where you live I would caution against using boxwood. I started purchasing Ilex instead as the boxwood caterpillars have decimated boxwoods in our area .🇨🇦
Hello from England. It’s amazing what a difference adding kerb appeal can make. We’ve just finished doing this and I’m really pleased with the results but will use some of your ideas to finish it off so thank you.
Hey there Ashley! Your design concepts are very cohesive. I already have three here at my townhouse: bricks laid shoulder to shoulder style outlining a rose border. The bricks match my front façade. I have a Colonial tan (yellow clay) planter on the landing and I have two decorative metal window boxes on my back deck to add floral color w/o taking up space. I’ve just painted them antique copper to match my light fixtures. Colonial lantern style. Snagged them on sale online at the very beginning of the Covid lockdown.
My townhome has Federal style trim.
I love this and have many of the details you spoke about! Beautiful pictures thank you. ❤️
I love hearing that!! Thank you so much for watching❤️
Window boxes for the cottage! I was thinking that about for our cottage, then you went on to say you were doing that with yours! Sweet!
I can’t do much planting in the front of it, because it’s off a main highway and a fire hazard from cigarettes. 🤷🏻♀️ Like, it’s right up against the main road!
I love window boxes and trellis, but watch out for rot!
So true! We try to use all cedar outside, it’s been okay so far, but something to keep in mind for sure!
Love the ideas
Beautiful and informative 🌞
Thank you. ❤
Interesting. Thank you!
Love your style! My House is English County/ Cottage.
What a lovely video❤
We have a small rental and I appreciated this !!!!
What about a content on French Garden 😃
I love using stacked stone
Love all your suggestions & pictures! An idea for potted evergreens next to the door or any where in the yard is, they can be faux! Thanks, Ashley!
Do you do on Lin garden design or consulting? These images are beautiful
Yes, let’s break out the prep work, scraping, ladders, paint your own house. DIY? Oh boy.
Painting a house is not easy or cheap.
Oh boy, I have so many negatives with my home’s curb appeal I don’t know where to begin. A. My home entry facade faces north. B. My home is in the mountains and surrounded by trees. C. The driveway is asphalt and goes up to the home exterior. D. I have a propane tank and a fuel oil tank against the front of my home. Help 🤷♀
First I would learn about which understory trees & shrubs grow in your zone & neighborhood. Try to use native or native adjacent types for easy care. Checking out what's growing in your community is a great way to see how big plants actually get & look in shade or sun.
The fastest way to block a propane tank or other undesirable objects is with a small fence with a vine growing up it but make sure there's plenty of clearance around it and access so the propane can be refilled.
Gardening books (found at libraries and various home building/remodeling stores) may offer advice on what plants grow best in your climate, what plants to avoid due to drought, fire hazard, etc. I read once, for example, that homes in heavily forested areas should not have vegetation within 10-20 feet of the house due to fire hazard if there is drought. I hope you find the information you need.
A. There are many beautiful shade-loving plants such as hostas (perennials) and coleus (annuals). B. Ground cover and grasses usually grow nicely under trees, as well as smaller evergreen shrubs. All of these come in vibrant colors such as the chartreuse color of Japanese hakone grass. C. If the driveway doesn’t leave you any planting beds, you can use pots and raised beds over the driveway to create some space for plantings. D. I agree with an earlier comment, that you can screen your propane tank. If you’re not very handy, these can be purchased online. Good luck with your endeavors!

Thank you for listening to us!!! That last video was ridiculous lol. All million dollar home examples😅
Yuk
Ashley, too much skin. It just isn't necessary.
Very nice ideas ~ will try a few :) Also, if building or installing window boxes is too difficult, you can simply set some rectangle raised planters (on legs) under the windows. You get the same look & with little worry about water & soil decaying or staining the window woodwork & the side of your house.
