There is a hump in your voice, I think it's in the high mids, could be your new mic, could be the mix, could be your room, could be my room, could be my new JJ tubes, or could be everything combined... damn, we audiophiles are nuts....
Have been waiting endlessly for the Leak stereo 130 review. Jay had mentioned it’s coming soon in the wharfdale Linton review video. Any idea if it’s coming up soon? Big fan of the channel btw!
The SVS prime sound base definitely has more headroom in terms of power! I do find the Sabaj to be slightly better with imaging but it is a clinical sounding amp in comparison (Studio-like).
Good, fair review although I couldn't disagree more on the low volume performance. Mine has a full sound with great soundstage, even at low levels. However, the sound improved dramatically after a few dozen hours of listening. You nailed it on being a lifestyle product - more than good enough for most listeners.
I’m planning on getting the Buchardt S400 Mark II’s and I’m tempted to get the Soundbase Pro, partly for the price but mainly for the features. If they don’t work I’ll send them back and get either an Arcam or Cambridge Audio.
Jay - I currently send my rear speaker signal for my home theater to a pair of Audioengine HD6 powered speakers. One recently died on me. Any reason I couldnt use this to power rear passive speakers and send the signal the same way to the aux input on this amp? FYI - trying to avoid running speakers to the rear of the room as its an apt and I shouldnt cut holes in the wall to run cable. Thx.
@@ThujanK a few of the negatives you mentioned are solved in the Sonos Amp as well: Tone controls (basic, but it's there) and a Highpass filter. Sonos adds even more usability with HDMI-Arc for easy HDMI-CEC controls and lipsync, ability to decode Dolby digital and convert into a 4.2 system, and compatibility with pretty much everything including airplay. It's really killer as a plug and play solution for mixed usage. That's not to say the sound is as good as the soundbase. Would love to see a comparison with the newer amp. Haven't seen anyone do one yet.
Your Audio wasn't bad before, better than some other YT channels (S's and F's get really annoying on those). This new mic does sound better, lower noise floor or something. Possibly get even better with a slight adjustment, maybe closer, more direct...? Sounds like there's 10% being left on the table :)
How many speakers can you hook to this? I have a Yamaha receiver that had channel A & B so I can hook two different sets of speakers to it. I can use both channels at the same time or each on it’s own.
Would have been interested in this unit, even without a remote, if it had incorporated hdmi arc. Then for tv listening the lack of remote wouldn’t matter because the tv remote could handle that function.
Hi I’m thinking about purchasing the SVS soundbase with thé klipsch rp 600m for music I’m wondering how to connected to the SVS 1000 pro if I don’t want to use the LFE?
The SoundBase has a dedicated sub out, plug and play. And if the sub has high frequency connects I would go that route, as I heard the 1000 has that feature
@@michaelwright1602 So let me get this right ? The soundbase has a dedicated LFE out but you said it doesn't have a built in high pass filter. So that means it sends the same amount of low frequency to the sub as to the monitors? So you are saying go from the soundbase LFE to the subwoofer in and then use the build in crossover from the sub and then go back from the subwoofer high frequency outs to the soundbase RCA s in ? Sorry sounds complicated but when you think about it it's quite simple.
you sound much better than you normally do, but there is an upperbass boomyness. i think this is your room. see if you can go for a higher angle on the microphone or try a lapel mic.
Has anyone compared this to the Emotiva ta1? I’m looking for insight as to how they compare in sound. I understand their feature set is much different. I can understand that myself. But without a soundbase to listen to, I’m curious on the sound differences.
Regarding streaming, does anybody actually know what a "Roon Endpoint" is? It's mentioned so often, it must be valuable. Are there any Endpoints other than Roon? I've searched around the web and it seems nobody knows what this mysterious thing is.
SVS soundbase is a good amplifier, still their application leaves much to be desired. Also it streams only 16/44 through Tidal, so my Plus subscription is useless, since no Master quality streaming is available.
In terms of highlighting spatial elements within a recording I did not find it noteworthy or pinpoint in accuracy (rather I'd have a rough idea). Which at this price point is "normal" from my experience. I appreciate the feedback!
Most if not all TVs use/still have optical outputs for audio. Which has enough bandwidth for two channel listening. HDMI ARC was developed more so for multichannel Home theatres (with it's own set of quirks).
Nice unit i hear good things but a PLASTIC case? A metal case speaks quality using plastic is cheap which leads me to think about the quality of parts they put into this. So ill stay with my first choice the Sprout 100. Yea its more but it isnt cheap plastic.
It is a metal inner chasis with a plastic/metal hybrid cover. The amp circuitry and heatsinks are mounted onto the metal inner shell. I opened it up just to check ;)
Without a phono stage it’s useless to me. It’s a big omission. If an integrated amp maker doesn’t have phono going back 5-10 years then they’re not relevant. IMO.

Loving the new production quality!
Why thankyou Jonas! 🥳🥳

We have ALOT of components in for review. Hopefully soon! 😅
Audio sounds better. Thanks for upgrading. It sucks when watching stereo reviews as an audiophile and the sound sucks. Much appreciated.
The audio was an immediately noticeable difference before you got the words out of your mouth. Nice upgrade
Yes i love my svs
Great review! How would you compare the amp section to the Sabaj you reviewed?

New SoundBase coming out in March 2022, they listened! We are finally getting the remote! And I believe HDMI! All for $599 US.

I’m curious what your take would be on the Yamaha wxa50 after this review. The music cast app allows for streaming, volume control and POWER 😁
I've actually owned one WAAAAAAAY back in like 2017. I didn't keep it though. 🙃
How would you compare sound to SMLS Da-9?
Great video. Can you do a review regarding Mono or Stereo listening? What do you listen to ??
SVS products are great. Good value engineering. No non-sense... you get what you pay for, and some more.
Exactly!

Thujan, do you have a review of your own KEF R11s? If not, could you possibly do a review on them, please?
BTW, the mic sounds great, nice upgrade.
Sonos reversed their position on bricking trade in items last year. You can still use your older items on their S1 platform.
Sweet. I still don't find them the best value. But that is good news.

Would this work for a pre amp, to a 7.2 home theater? (Amp for only the two fronts) Or would I be unable to fully use the streaming in doing that?

Nothing wrong with mic but room acoustics is poor...voice sounds shouty and a little harsh. Maybe get a vocal isolation booth?

Soundbase vs Yamaha A-S501? to power Kef Q150. Price don't matter. Sound Quality first. SPL second.
The amplifier is probably very nice. But the DTS software can’t compare to the Sonos or the Bluesound software.
It has no hdmi so it can't compete with songs amp cause many people use it as a stereo receiver 😕

Thujan Krishnakumar yeap but hdmi has killer feature to turn on and off with TV from one remote :)
I believe HDMI and finally, a remote! Due out next month, 03/22, $599
… no thx, I’am absolutely fine with my Sonos amp and Canton Vento loudspeakers. 😊
Comparing this to sonos makes no sense what so ever. Besides, sonos amp gen 2 is better in many ways
Ambient. At 75? You live inside a construction zone, right? 🤣😂
The video is very dark, I can't continue watching it. I'm sorry.
