Science Lesson, Induction stove tops work by creating a changing magnetic field that induces a current in the metal Pot/pan/cup what have you, causing it to heat up. Their is no "heat" passed from the stove to the pot, the heat comes from within the metal itself.

This is great. Nice steel joists. Nice burnt wood. Nice simple flat roof. I have a 15/12 pitch roof, and I'm bonkin' around all up and down. This tour has given me some good ideas for my next one. Well done!

I love the tiny house concept/notion and I especially love minimalism. With that said, when one is over 6ft tall, as I am, and built like an Amazon, tiny houses become straight jackets and one goes nuts.

This is a great house. Love the steel used for the bed. In a tiny house every inch counts, and that's a clever way of gaining a couple of spare inches to work with.

You have my vote for most environmentally friendly/classy styled tiny house! I love it. I'm using the same colors of black & gray in my loft apartment because they virtually go with everything - as well as exploring practical shelving, bedding, and storage options.
I'm definitely going to work towards a tiny house lifestyle!

TeaTime0223 Definitely agree. Great job, Jay Austin! I did see one earlier this morning, a husband and wife worked on it together, but the inside was white breadboard. Quite nice and gave it quite a spacious feel. Would you mind sharing how much your trailer and tiny home weighs and how much it took $ wise to built it? No worries about furniture though. I live in an 1813 renovated mill in New England. It's just too large for me. I've been wanting to do this since the mid 2000s, as I had read an article in the NYTimes.

Awesome. Induction cookers use magnetic energy to vibrate the metal and it heats up. The only drawback is that induction cooking only works properly with cooking pans that containing iron-the only metal that efficiently produces electrical (eddy) currents and heat from magnetic fields.

The house Absolutely Rocks!!! We have several people here locally in 'the zoo' pondering building tiny spaces... zoning/land ownership and good design continue to evolve... So far you all seem in the lead with collective land ownership. How easy was that to pull off?
It almost seems tiny housing design is improving daily, although I am sure that dangerous and poorly thought out structures (that my parents most feared I would do) still happen. With greater public involvement there IS greater creative achievement solving problems of beauty and secure housing. It is desperately about time this movement grows.
By the way Jay, I've said forever that portable induction hobs like yours make more sense. You can bring them out or put them away.
Hope sometime after we do ours here we get a chance to meet. Best to you...

    Think about this.
If you live in a micro apartement as small as this, no government argue about it.
But as soon as you aquire a small piece of land and put up a small house like this, they got all sorts of complaints.
To me it seems like they don't want the 'little' man, or woman to have a place of their own, but have to rent from a housing shark, for too much money.
And if you try to live off the grid, then everything gets much worse.
Think if a bigger portion of the popultaion started to do that.
The power companies, could risk not geting their 1000% profit every year.
    Oh the horror.
