    As mentioned it takes the perfect amount of water to not make a muddy bog and get actual compacted dirt. Those geotechnical compaction tests are expensive.

    Have you ever used helical piers for difficult soils?

      I have had several jobs engineered for them but cost have shut the job down.

      I fill the bucket up with wet dirt and roll the pad. I pass every time at a 95%

    How do I find a Geotech company? Are they expensive?

      Research Geotech Engineer in your area. Depends on what you need, just geotech for the foundation or a perc test for septic.
