Working in bioresearch, I'm proud to confirm that Doddie's charity raises a lot of money and inspires the scientists looking for treatments and a cure for MND.
If you want to contribute, it's the 'My Name'5 Doddie' foundation.

Are we any closer to a cure or at least a treatment? I think it's so awful that good people who get this disease have literally no hope . There has got to be something out there. Thanks for the work you do . I have donated small amounts to Doddies foundation a few times now . Although I knew he was ill I almost never expected him to actually die . He seemed to be fighting it so well .

@@iangarner8857 Yes, there have been some real strides taken in the last couple of years thanks to funds from Doddie's foundation. I don't want to give false hope of a sudden cure but researchers across several facilities have been able to pool knowledge and we now have a much better understanding of how the condition develops and what we can do to tackle it.

@@leithscrumhalf4143 absolutely brilliant! I know stem cell treatment was a promising area. I think poor Doddie knew the cure would come too late for him , but I'm sure it will arrive soon. Keep going!

Heartbreaking to think of his family being without the colossus that was Doddie, my thoughts go out to them.

I was at that game where he got injured during 97 tour...the offending player Bosman was vilified at the time.

Apparently Bosman was caused to reflect and changed quite a bit after that happened.People say he was a good man in the end. he passed away a while back.
