Replacing the side mirror glass on a BMW E60 (5 Series)

Not the most professional video, but give me a thumbs-up if you found it at all helpful. Was thinking of making other videos of any minor repairs I make on the car (like the squeak coming from under the hood by the dashboard....).
This is a video showing how easy it is to replace the side mirror glass on a BMW E60 (same as E61); in this case a 2008 523i. My iPhone stopped right at the end, but you get the point.
I was surprised that these mirrors become "stained" over time - haven't had that happen with any other cars that I have owned - but then I realized that the heating element inside them is constantly on, so perhaps that explains it.

Thank you. This was easy peasy and was one of the easiest things I have done on my 5 series...although it looks daunting at first. Took less than 5 minutes. Got the mirror exactly same to that of yours. Its comes from East Europe and takes a few weeks to get to the US. The vendor is highly responsive to any questions I sent to them.

Your a life saver. My driver side mirror just shattered today hit a cone by accident cause some idiot swerved into my lane. Come just smacked my mirror luckily nothing else but thank u i just ordered a mirror and I’m gonna do it myself. BMW charge a arm and a leg now a days lol.

Hey I have a 2010 bmw 535i m sport the mirror is a little different with a little trim around it and the wire is a bit different too, any place you where I can get this part I am in Texas, USA

What about the connector that is on the original backing plate of the mirror? Did you get rid of it or what? I wonder what it's for cause there is no pin connector on the new mirror glass.

Sorry, just saw your message... if there is no pin connector on the new glass, then it's either the wrong glass for a car with heated glass, or you've only purchased the glass... in which case I don't know how you would go about replacing just the glass (and presumably just attaching it to the old frame).
