Walked down the aisle to this👌😘
i love hearing Chris belt those notes
Forever my favorite musicians in 3 part harmony! So beautiful!
This is amazing..I just discovered it on NPR's Tiny Desk and now I'm going crazy listening to every version I can fine.
Happy to see Chris Thile and the Watkins Siblings together again. Magnificent tune.
incredible tune...this one is gonna last the test of time,...worthy of a grammy imo
Soooo good ❤
chris thile is a musical genius!
I just learned how to play this tune and holy crap, the timing on that bridge section is out of control. They make it sound easy but when you sit there and figure out what's under the hood musically there's so much going on.
AndyTheGray always is with good songs.
And don't even get me started on their control of dynamics just by distance to the ONE mic.
I see that all the time learning dave matthews band on guitar and bass. I can only imagine that this bridge is difficult to learn.
That’s why he’s probably the wold’s best living mandolin picker. As you can probably guess, the others ain’t exactly slouches either, haha!
@@PumpkinTuna When I played in old-time bands, that’s how everyone did it. I’d clip a little condenser on my bass, aimed at the top under the end of the fingerboard, and roll just a bit of that in as needed, but probably 80% or more of our sound was coming from that big condenser mic. We had a sorta nice Sennheiser, I’m sure they have the best available to humanity (Chris’ mandolin alone is worth a couple hundred grand), and those big condensers actually make it pretty intuitive to get your dynamics right. Acoustic instruments are sized and shaped not to overpower the human voice, a good microphone’s not that much different than a campfire or a couch as far as dynamics are concerned.
Damn he's got a voice!
The battle is over
Here we all lie
In a dry sea of Solo cups
With the sun in our eyes
But it's one of those endings
Where no one claps 'cause they're sure that there's more
What a great way to start the first day of the rest of my life.
I guess the show's going on
So we pick up the pieces
We dropped for a song
And an ear-splitting headache
That makes it hard to figure out which puzzle they're for
But I can leave this part out of the story I write
There are worse ways to start the first day of the rest of my life.
Roommates, friends, lovers - quiet
I'm coming to
I'm turning myself into something a little less promising
A little more useful
The battle is over
We lost, but we'll live to call off the war
Don't that ceiling look high from the floor?
Don't it hurt just to move
As we shrink from the light?
As it pierces our bodies and thaws out our hearts
What a great way to start the first day of the rest of
The rest, the rest of my life.
ty kindly for the lyrics..
They're Fantastic!
Amazing musicians... love that harmony and one take performance. Wow.
So happy that I got to hear them sing this and so many other great songs at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. Here's hoping for another reunion tour in the near-ish future!

BRAVO !!! Magnifique, beautiful, you're splendid !!!
Wonderful piece of music!
Mr T went on to do other things but his passion and soul was at its height with NC. Bar None.
So good!
This is amazing!
Prog-grass
Came from a riff Sean brought to the mix but this is a very Thile style tune.
That guy singing looks kinda like Jude Law.
anyone have the chords?

Each alphanumeric combination above is a different page. It doesn't cover the last part of the song, which is weird, but it's not hard to figure out after this.
