Kids suck though, its hard work if you're actually a mom. I'm not talking about popping them out and paying someone else to raise them so we can go off to work. Everyone wants to be a mom without doing the work of a mom. So think long and hard about it. I love my toddler but the SAHM life is no joke but I knew that going in. I am blessed to have a great earning hubby but it's still hard work being a mom. There's no checking out and it's a lie that motherhood gets easier with kids growing. It's just a different challenge but they are still a full-time responsibility that doesn't just end at age 18.

I was worried about using this way of life while trying to get pregnant, during pregnancy, and during breastfeeding. Dr. Berry, please do more videos on the carnivore diet and its effects on female health: fertility, hormones, cervical polyps, fibroids, and the vaginal microbiome. The last one is huge because it impacts so many women: struggling with BV, utis, yeast issues. So many women are struggling and there’s not a lot of content on how keto or carnivore impacts these things!

I'm from Poland. When my sister had gestational diabetes, I couldn't find any NEW medical recommendations. All I found were old recommendations, 5 meals a day, blood tests, no eggs or meat, whole grain bread and vegetables. That's what the pregnancy dietician told her to eat. I regret not looking in English then, because now I'm on carnivore and I know a lot. Back then I was afraid I would harm my sister or the baby, I didn't find information on whether she could use keto. And the constant cooking, watching meal times and blood tests took away a lot of the joy of her pregnancy. I regret not knowing Dr. Berry's or Dr. Kiltz's channel!

I am lucky to not have issues conceiving, however I always had an incredibly LONG cycle. After just 3 months on keto (7kg down) my periods have normalised from 42+ day cycles and 8 days of menstruation to 31 day cycles and 5 days of menstruation!!! (TMI warning) And the difference is insane, in terms of how much blood loss! I remember when my Gyno wanted to put me on metformin to fix it. He was essentially TREATING early diabetes without actually diagnosing me. Terrible! He ended up giving me a script for the Pill which I scrunched up angrily as my blood pressure goes through the roof on the Pill due to my MTHFR gene status. I lost all faith in medicine in Australia after that. I'll just fix myself by lowering my insulin resistance.

Perhaps running a marathon every day may not be good if you’re trying to conceive due to an excess of internal heat, which I think is what Dr Kiltz was referring to. I’m going keto to heal and get pregnant. I believe in a lot of this but I can get on board 100% that plants are bad and causing the all the disease. All the people I know that are sick eat all processed. So plants do release chemicals but animals do also when killed, adrenaline and stress hormone. I think a lot of plants are good and we just need to cut out the starchy ones and I’m pretty sure people are getting sicker with processed foods over plants. But I myself will be cutting the starchy ones. Super excited to see a reduced in inflammation and autoimmune issues.

I'm starting to think that for a lot of people their systems are so overloaded from years of abuse that they need time to heal on a strict carnivore diet. In the long term I wonder if it might be OK to have well cooked whole fruits and vegetables in moderation. Theoretically after the body has healed it regains some ability to handle intermittent limited toxic loads.

Tried paleo, I can’t eat nuts. Was unsure if I wanted to do Keto as the tracking everything to stay in ketosis seemed difficult.
I’ve never felt better on carnivore except I don’t like turkey I’ve found. And once I stopped drinking an electrolyte beverage that contained citric acid (a synthetic toxin) the loose bowels I was experiencing disappeared!

I watch both as well. I started with Dr. Berg just for health, general health I would say. But then I saw Dr. Berry. Like them both but being more carnivore is definitely more suited for ME. I feel better, I sleep better, I move better, my stomach doesn’t hurt after eating or get bloated every 5 seconds. I do some pickles sometimes and /or cucumber. Don’t have problems with them. I absolutely love doctors who are so versed in nutrition. I tell people I mostly meat based, I get one of those “really, I thought it’s so bad for you”.

Dr Berry, what type of pregnancy did the 51 and 48 year old women have ? assisted or natural conception ?

    • @tnicole902

My guess would be natural conception since they were initially mad about being pregnant. They probably assumed they were past their fertility window.

I’m all for keto/carnivore during pregnancy but the thought of OMAD during pregnancy does not sit well with me. I’m less than 5 weeks away from my due date and I get nauseous if I don’t eat at least three meals a day. I especially I have to eat an extra meal now because the baby is crowding my stomach and I can’t fit a whole lot of food in there at one time (or even three times).
