Great preview, looking forward to future videos. Keeps some spares in the bunker for you know what. Make sure your backup has a backup. I'm off to read the blog. Thanks, Julian.
Yeah, thanks for the reminder. Got no plan to eat crickets, so ;)

Awesome Giveaway! 👍
Thank you for all the information you share
Thank you for watching, commenting and for the kindness. Without them, not sure if I would have the energy. Definitely a two way street.

Thanks!
Solar setup is something I always struggled understanding. Hopefully this will help me understand it.
Many of us struggle with it. Often, the information out there lacks a ham radio focus. That in itself can make information confusing or contradictory to our goals.
I'll keep it simple!

I have been watching you videos for sometime. I saved up for the Icom 705 and now have it. As time and money allow I shall hope put together an off grid solar system just like this. Thanks for all the videos.
Outstanding Bruce, thank you too. It is a slow and tedious process, but one which is very rewarding. Thanks for the kindness.

Thanks Julian, you've been my go to for beginning to understand solar and plan my set up.
Thanks Jack. Comments like this are very good to read. I've recently been under the impression that off-grid solar power for ham radio was of little interest to the community. Perhaps it is a "niche" topic!? Either way, it is one of my favorite topics to cover.
Thanks for the kindness.

I Always enjoy Julian and the cool Equipment.
Thanks for the kindness. I hope my wife doesn't read this "cool equipment" comment :D We've recently been discussing giving up some of the equipment for adoption. (Her idea, not mine). ;)

Thank you Julian. Been watching your cannel for some years now. Thank you for your content.
New Ham here. Great stuff. Thank you!!
Super Thanks!
Thanks Julian for all the hard work. Your videos got me started and keep me going in off grid radio comms.
Many thanks for the content Julian, cheers
Very excited for this video series... perfect timing as well!!! 73 de BJ, KM4RB
These are good videos. I've assembled a pretty modest portable power solution but I need to step up off grid power at the shack.
Excellent. The shack was a can of worms at my station. There were things to learn which were never an issue setting up a field station.
My advice, go slow!
Thanks for watching and commenting. It is greatly appreciated.

Shinny! 🌞
Julian.. am interested in your Wind turbines.. can you provide information on where to buy these.
Thankyou for your hard insightful work.. without your input.. i would be lingering in the dark on the matter of Ham Radios and Solar/Wind power.
Thanks for the comment and kindness. Things are constandly changing with the wind turbine. Every day brings new lessons and ways of utilizing the turbine, in a way I had not considered previously.
I would start here: oh8stn.org/blog/2021/08/06/vertical-axis-wind-turbine-project/ This is the original post for the project. It also has updated information on my plans for using the wind turbine as a dump load, for a diy sand battery heater for teh off-grid ham shack.
Let me know if this would be interesting for the channel.

Gracias por tus videos son de mucha ayuda lu3wac
Thanks for your video content on solar/wind energy efficiency for the shack. Still trying to enable asynchronous communications with my MS Surface Pro3. You have explained the setup with the MS Surface Go. Not sure if setup is exactly the same with the Pro3. Your comments welcomed. Mahalo!
Not exactly the same. I believe the Pro 3 has a standard USB port, and a Surface Connect port for charging. This would mean your audio interface or radio would plug into the USB port instead of the USB-C port. Also, I'm not sure if the Pro 3 has an integrated GPS.
You'll have to provide more hints to what error you're getting in order to troubleshoot.
Outstanding
Thanks
It’s because of you techprepper & s2 underground I got licensed for general last week your efforts effect more people than you know
Thanks for saying this. These days it seems so many people aren't willing to put in the effort. Reading your comment gives some hope.
BTW, huge fan of S2 Underground.

Feel free to include Australia in your giveaways as well 🇦🇺😊 especially the powerfilm
I certainly would, but don't battery or charge controller partners suppliers in Australia 😔
@@OH8STN i understand completely mate. I enjoy watching your content. Cheers
Julian the Genasun USA coupon code does not work.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
It was a type-o. Genasun USA discount code is "5forOH8STN" without quotes.
I fixed it on the website now. Thanks for letting me know 👍
Hi Julian, where can we apply for the giveaway?
73,

Wow! Thanks for this opportunity. The solar charging capability is the missing link so far in my portable operations. WØRHP
Thank you. Ironically, power is the missing link for many of us. We'll get it done though!

I really like the power film solar panels, but they are too expensive for me.
Indeed, they are costly. Next month I'll also show another heavier, but more budget friendly model.
