✅Ingredients
• 1 pint vanilla ice cream, divided into 4 round balls
• 2 eggs beaten
• 2 cups corn flakes sweetened, crushed
• 1/2 cup sweetened coconut flakes
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
• Vegetable oil for frying
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Make 4 ice cream balls about the size of a small orange and place them on a sheet or plate. Set in freezer to firm up for at least 1 hour.
2️⃣ In one dish, beat eggs. In another mix together crushed corn flakes, coconut flakes and cinnamon.
3️⃣ After the ice cream balls have firmed up, remove from freezer and roll them one at a time into the crushed corn flake mixture, then the beaten egg then back into the mixture of corn flakes and cinnamon.
4️⃣ Place them back on the sheet and into the freezer to solidify for another 1-2 hours. The trick to successfully frying ice cream is very solid ice cream.
5️⃣ To fry, preheat at least 4 inches of cooking oil in a deep dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot. Working in batches, carefully lower the balls into the oil and flash fry for about 20 seconds until they have become more golden. Remove from oil and enjoy immediately or re-freeze.
Fried Ice Cream Cheater Method:
Form the balls and place in freezer.
In a skillet, melt 1/2 cup of salted butter and add in the crushed cereal, coconut flakes and cinnamon. Stir and let the coating mixture cook together until it has deepened in color and the coconut is more golden.
Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet and let cool.
Roll the balls into the cooled mixture. Top with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle and enjoy!

I love fried ice cream but I’ve always wondered who came up with the idea to “fry” ice cream first!
I have seen it but never had it. Looks like a winner 🏆 dessert thank you
Yummy, thanks for sharing. I’m definitely trying this on one of my “reward days”… minus a few modifications like the eggs and coconut flakes.
Looks delicious!❤
Looks so amazing and delicious! ❤
Looks awesome
I had fried ice cream in like '84, never found again. Could never find a recipe either. I think this one is it. 😋
Sometimes at sushi restaurants. Fried ice cream and fried cheesecake. But I think instead of fried they put it as tempura
Yummy
sounds delicious! can they be made in the air fryer? thanks
I like Red Barn chocolate malt ice cream!
❤❤❤❤
Wow, I didn't realize how simple this would be. Is there a particular fry oil that should be used?
A neutral oil like vegetable or canola oil is good.
@@Thestayathomechef Thank you again! ❤️
This may be a dumb question but can I freeze them after I’ve fried them?
why would you do that?
Can you make this with chocolate ice cream?
Yes. It's delicious.
This sounds like Baked Alaska
They do both have ice cream in them!
?
I prefer mine drizzled in honey
Eggs are not used in the real recipe….that step should not be in there. Real fried ice cream is rolled in crushed plain corn flakes and then frozen until hard. Then it is dipped into hot oil for a few seconds which fries the surface perfectly. Served with drizzled honey and whipped cream.
Consider this the more delicious fake one then!
Agreed. Ice cream dipped in eggs didn’t look right to me either. I would’ve utilized heavy cream instead, if looking for a liquid like substance to attract the crunchy exterior.
