Modes, Triads, & the 2-5-1

  • In this video, I'll show you how you can use the Modes to play a 2-5-1 chord progression over the entire fretboard by starting with the triads of the progression. This is a super-fun exercise that I think you'll enjoy!

      @@markfoster_mkfbass *yes brother, I felt that Anthony was too too advanced for a rank beginner. I didn't grow up playing gospel in a church so I had alitve elementary questions and would get turned around which seemed to annoy him, lol*

    This is one of those lessons that on the surface seems easy enough until you try it. The thing I find crazy is that I can get comfortable in one key then i feel like I'm starting over as soon as I try a different key. I feel like it should be as easy as shifting my position.... Anyway, back to the practice room.

    One question: when you play the chords and the triads in the 2 5 1 progression, why not use the seventh ex: G7 with G B and F ?

    привет ! я с каждым разом нахожу разную информацию в этом подходе. Мне нравится гениальность этого, а почему бы не взять 4-5-1 ----главные ступени дают равные трезвучия --- все они мажорные. нет?

    Thanks for your great lesson but one question I always wanted to ask you is how do you get your sound ? Amp setup ? Effects ? Stuff like that because it is phenomenal

      Thanks very much, George. My setup is pretty simple. I plug my bass into a Focusrite 4i4 interface, and I record into Logic Pro X. That's about it. No fancy effects or anything like that. I'm glad you like it.
