What's ironic is that I watched this commercial recently and received a 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable Safety Razor in its original case that's like new! It even came with a Gillette Stainless Steel DE blade from 1965 that looks like it was never used!

They'd go out of business because those razors were made to last. If not properly maintained, you can send them out for a revamp or servicing these days. There's a plethora of classic Gillette Super Speeds on eBay because they lasted so long.
