Great video. My 2007 gt500 clutch was replaced under warranty. They put in a 2010 clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder in because it is bigger. Now it's slipping again, and I smell it burning. It's time to do it again. It's not under warranty anymore, so I am going to use your instructions. Thanks.

Fantastic work. So glad you mentioned wearing an N95 mask to perform this service. Great advice for the shade tree mechanics out there.

Any advice on getting the upper bell housing bolts off? They’re in there pretty good😅

Im changing out the clutch on my 05 mustang. It has long tube headers. And a roush. Supercharger. The input shaft is not clearing the clutch fingers. Is that why you dropped the subframe down .50 any help id appreciate. I am a feild tech and usually work on heavy equipment

Yea, exactly. I loosened up all the subframe bolts because no matter what angle or rotating the transmission side to side would make it clear the pressure plate. Loosen all the bolts, just leaving threaded a few turns and that should do the trick 👍

Great video - is sealant recommended on the flywheel bolts and/or threadlocker on the pressure plate bolts?

Was it really necessary to replace the flywheel? Could. The original be resurfaced? Back in the day I seldom needed to replace flywheels.

As far as I know they can't because it's "stepped". If it was an old school solid flat style flywheel then I would have machined it. Definitely an expensive clutch repair

Makes sense. Do you higher discourage doing this job on jack stands? I don't have a lift. I did automatics back in the 80's. I can't imagine it being much harder.

@@carlmazziotti221 This would be a tough job without a lift. I loosened the sub frame bolts and dropped it down about an inch so it would need to be done while supported on jack stands, not on car ramps.

@@raincitywrench117 doable but not fun. And without a tranny jack very tough I would imagine.
