Have had my '92 single cab, short bed for about 4 yrs. 5speed, original dark grey, bucket seats. Had put it up for sale about 2 weeks ago. 2 potantial buyers, 1 low offer, that was my sign to keep it, drive it, and restore as best I can to its original condition. It does really drive smooth. Love my truck.

I bought an extended cab Silverado brand new in 1997. The ride, even 25 years later is like that of a Cadilac. I have never had any issues with rattles or handling.

Nice truck! I have a 1992 GMC, SLE C1500, 350 v/8, short bed and love it! I bought it from a neighbor that has had it for 13 years and kept it in the garage! Interior and paint still look brand new! It is in show quality condition! It has 134,000 miles on it and runs like new! Stock radio and the A/C did not work. My neighbor fixed the a/c and I put a nice Kenwood disc playing stereo in it and I love it! Oh, and it is that beautiful metallic blue, my favorite color! Keeping it until I push up daisies, 😜

I have 92 ex cab C1500 silverado. Needs TLC but has full bed no holes and needs paint and interior. Also i need to flush the engine coolant as it sat 3 years and over heated a little when i moved it. Prob the thermostat. The body is in great shape aside from the passenger side of bed having a bump dent that can be easily pulled out. 5.7 ltr tbi rebuilt according to previous owner as his dad had it done and it was bored over and all and trans was rebuilt as well. It reads 198k but i bought it 10 years or 11 ago for 1800 and it only needed power steering which i had put in and i changed alt. No smoke at all and will spin the tires which is no easy feat with the boat it is , 8ft bed. Rare model not many ordered these as they were long. Hahaha. Still thinking about keeping it and building up the body and painting it then get it perfect for a camper with over head cab sleeper to travel and make music videos. Etc. Live on road. Remote wooded areas.

I have my grandpas 90 c1500 long bed 350/700r4. It has over 400k on it and ride like a Cadillac now that I redid the front end. Has a dam good ac now. Strong engine and tranny. It’s 2nd engine plus I have redone the heads and timing chain. Transmission I had to rebuilt. I wouldn’t trade this truck for anything. All she needs now is a paint job to look right.

Just purchased a 93 WT, v6 automatic, 8 foot bed, crank windows, air delete, zero rust, zero accidents, new tires, 88,000 miles for $7500. I put all new parts on front end and replaced all brake lines for less than $200.This truck feels so good to drive to the grocery and hardware. I'm like in heaven with my window cranked down and elbow hanging on the door. I purchased a new 1990 WT 5spd manuel back in the day ($9,100) that made me lots of money and sold it with 250,000 miles on the odometer. It was still running and looking great. Yeah the seat is quiet uncomfortable compared to my 2023 Forester that mostly drives itself. But the feel and sound of a real mechanical truck makes this old man's day. He looks good in it also. LOL

I got a 93 C1500 does not sound like anything is rattling on mine.. still got the 5.7 350.. 4/6 lowering kit on 15 inch wagon style rallies on 205 65 in the front 235 65 in the rear.. currently painted it a regal red only thing I would switch would be the throttle body to carb currently trying to fix the firing order my router is 180° off from my number one spark plug don't know how the hell that happened but I'll figure it out at least that 350 is one of the easiest Motors to work on besides 4 bolt vw 67 1600 cc engine..

Never driven a obs that rattles going down the road. Ive been a tech for 24 years and thats one of the reasons I own a obs. The truck was built to drive like a car. Oh yeah and lowered trucks are for 16 year olds in California 😂

Nice truck, but frame off??? The early W/T's like yours were / are pretty rattly with a lot of cab noise, even when new. The 90's plus Cheyenne and Silverado were a lot better on cab noises, when new (old enough that I owned obs new). The handling does go away when OBS's are drop with spindles and perch blocks. Back in they day, we drop them springs in the front, rolling the rear spring eyes and changing the rear shackles to help maintain handling. There are way better to drop obs's today and make the handling and ride even better then new trucks i.e. Ridetech, QA1 just to name a couple.
If you are getting a lot of frame flex, make sure the bed bolts are all there and tight. Replacing the core support and cab bushing with poly may help. The sheet metal i.e. core support, fenders, cab and bed are part of the frame structure, that is why they are made out of heavy ga sheet metal with lots of cross supports. Todays trucks have tin foil glued onto plastic cores or just plastic body pannels with heavier built frames.

I daily drive a 96 Chevy. Yeah it sucks gas rides like crap, the entire dash shakes when I hit a bump, the pipes are insanely loud and attract way too much attention, but I will say this that son of a gun don’t stop running and rarely gives me issues and when it does they’re cheap fixes mind you I’ve dogged this truck more than my ex girlfriend

By the sound of this video you are not only not totally familiar with this generation Chevy truck but you never have owned one. My one owner 1990 is very comfortable especially on long trips, handles well and is very quiet in the cab when on the road. The steering is also very tight and there is no real frame flex. If you were familiar with these trucks you would know that when GM redesigned them their goal was to strengthen the frame, hence the hydroforming processed developed, and also to tighten the steering. Also, the carryover models were designated R not C and were only available in a few body styles and in 3/4-1 ton only. This was also because the next gen Tahoes/Suburbans and heavy pickups had not yet been released so the ones available were still the square bodies. The heavier OBS pickups and Tahoe/Suburbans didn't come out until 1990. And BTW, it's a 4.3 ltr V6 not a 4.6.

Spot on. I wondered if anyone would call out the mistakes made. I do miss my '94 rcsb, silverado trim, 350ci...simple clean lines nothing bloated over like the full size trucks these days. Just picked up a '72 C10 to restore...love these older trucks too.
