If you run the AC and make it cold then turn it off for the bass the db will increase because the air is more dense.

I’ve had many different car audio systems since the 90’s. Best deepest lows I’ve ever heard were from my single kicker L715.
I went from 2 l7 15"s to a single sundown zv5 18"..... night and day bro. The sundown is 10x better at getting low.

Dude you are amazing and hell yes i am subscribed! To some they will think that $700.00 is alot for a subwoofer, we all know that everyone's income is different, some see it not that expensive and some see it expensive. For what the L7 solo X can do plus the recone ease is a BIG win for me vs the W7 i have. The sub seem to do very well musically as well which is what i would use it for in my car. Great video Hifi!

I've been waiting for this sub. Idk how many times release date was moved. I know twice at least. Currently running the JL Audio 12w7 in the JL High output enclosure. powered by the Fosgate 1500 1bdcp Kenwood DMX709S Head unit JL Audio XD400 Fosgate T169 rears, Fosgate p165se components front and an epicenter. In my sleeper 2005 Grand prix GTP. I CANT WAIT TO ORDER ONE! FINALLY!!!!! Thanks HIfi you the Man! Can't wait for Derricks video or what MB enclosures is gonna do for it!. And I will be using tour cutout sheet if it'll fit.

Thats pretty awsome info to know about your electrical. So two of the jy bayteries would surely do well on my 600 to 1100 watt setup. Im saving up to make the moves to the new solo x though. Either the 12 or the 15.
I would get a sundown x before I buy one for that price. Not trying to knock it because it's great kicker is getting back in the game. I really really really wish pioneer would get back into it.
Nothing wrong with having a preference for another driver! I think sometimes people (not you) think I’m a fanboy for Kicker or other brands, but the honest truth is I love almost all this stuff!
@@HifiVega I grew up on kicker and kicker's loaded boxes. With the songs in the 36hz and up, the cvr's where loud! The L7s were on another level and like I said, I'm really excited and routing for kicker on this one. But.... The market is flooded with amazing audio companies and I think it may be harder to compete with kicker's price point.
I've owned the xv3 18" and currently running the xv2 15". The solo x sounds alot better, but the lows on the x are insane.

@HifiVega that's probably in same class as s.a. zv2 and a.b.xfls for spls. Good info bro!
Parker the bass head does similiar SPL tests for 12 inch subs. But also remember a kicker 12 has more cone area than a typical 12 inch round sub thus requiring a bigger box also. I think the Sundown X sub which has a similar price tag and RMS rating as the solo x did a 145 or 146db?? Not sure but I think it was around that figure.
i only get around 139-140db with 2 old L7's and 3kwrms. And that is with a slightly bigger box then this.. so this is really a step in the correct direction for kicker

Thanks for the review. So many subwoofer I’m debating on. I currently own the Adire Brahma and Stereo Integrity SQL but want to try something different. I’m considering dual 10s RF Power T1 or just a single 10 kicker l7x. Debating if I should go for RF or Kicker.
Both are great, but if you’re going for the Rockfords you gotta go for the 19! That being said I’d go with the L7X
I hit 146.5 1st place in civic hatchback si no interior 2x12" 1000 d persub memephis audio pr played for 9hrs straight 1000 days Amp per subwoofer. Just put marine battery in and nothing else. lol

@@HifiVega no, that was my old school system. The only one Ive ever had metered at an IASCA event. Now Im running 3 kicker CompR 10’s in a ported box I made tuned to 33hz. Its a trunk build as well but Im maxed on airspace. I have 6 cubes minus port so for me to run 2 of those new kicker solo 12”s Ill need to find more airspace and probably use an external round port or something removable so I can put the back seat up! Its nice to know people are liking these subs. I dont have enough power (DC2.0k) but that never stopped me before! The only good thing I have is a 2/0 power wire. Stock alt, no big 3 and Im on my third battery in 3 years 🤣.

@@Trucker-Belly these new style meters are about 8db quieter than the old mic based meters. A 140db system on the mic would likely be low 130’s on these new meters. I did a 150 on a single L712 in 2001, but on the old mic style meters.
@@HifiVega you break my heart! I need to do so many things to my mustang that working on the system should be last. Need a new motor(blown head gasket) and I need to paint and get some new wheels. My next purchase was going to be an alternator and a spl meter like yours but the system I have currently is great. I made it for music but it gets down to 28 hz. It’s broken my fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. It snapped off the 3 spot welds that hold everything down. Now my fuel gauge doesnt work. I glued it back with epoxy and it only lasted a day so a new fuel tank is on the list too!! I dont know what it meters but I would love a 150 score but who knows. My dome light doesn’t turn off anymore now either! Do I really need two of those new Solo X’s??🤣

It doesn’t sound as good as a Q class musically imo, but it also doesn’t sound like a full spl sub either. It will play music and sound pretty good doing it

3cft @31hz and the square subs have roughly 20% more cone area than a standard round subwoofer of the same size

I have a set of the QSS67. I also have the square mids 7” and 9”. I’m thinking about getting the KS midrange and going 3 way with my QSS set. For my solo X I have a kicker kxa2400 but I want to see the new warhorse series.

Would u have 1 of them 12" solo x or 2 15" q's ? Which wil hit harder
Depends on the power you’re feeding them. The 2 q’s might get louder on less power, but if you have the juice the solo x will keep up or surpass them. That being said if you blow up the q’s you’re sol on the other hand if you blow up the solo x you can buy a recone.

I think 2 solo x 15’s will be louder by quite a bit than the stock quad box

The T1 12’s are great, but imo the Solo x is better. Now if you’re looking at the 19” RF that’s another story

I wholeheartedly recommend this for the price. You can get louder subs for the same price, but I don’t think you could match the loudness and SQ that this one has.

I’ve also got 30 years in car audio and I’ve broken in many subwoofers. Maybe you didn’t compete, so it didn’t matter as much to you, but it can and does matter on a lot of subwoofers when it comes to output.
This is funny,,, I used to compete in the 90,, I had 8 Rockford 12, On 2 o'rion 250 r And why I quit competing was In 99 eclipse came out with the titanium,, 1 10 in Q bomb Box With a Rockford 1000 DB A yellow top And a one Farad cap,, Beat me with a 1 47.8 at 40 Hz,, So bigger subwoofer more power more money ,,NOT impressed
Did you meter with an audiocontrol mic or B&K mic? I also competed back in the 90’s and early 00’s and did a 150 with a single L712 when it first came out. That being said the old mics read about 6-8db louder (sometimes more) than these pressure sensors meters. If you haven’t used the new meters that’s something you might not know
