Agree you said Skadarlija perfectly and it’s truly so nice to see you guys trying everything openly and warmly! I know it’s not easy to get out of your comfort zone like that and I appreciate it- Thank you!! 🥰
Nice video! Next time order some Sarma ( it is stuffed sour cabbage roll with minced mixed meat and rice), that one is ideal winter food, served hot with some mashed potatoes on side. There are couple nice traditional restaurants outside Skadarlija, up around Knez Mihailova street, like "Proleće" or "? - Question mark" and "Zavičaj". Enjoy!!
I can watch the ending over and over again. Benji was so excited to see you home. He's freaking adorable and you can tell he's a good dog. In the old day rakija was every man's breakfast lol.
That salad is Greek influence in Serbian cuisine. A lots of times sallad like one is all I want and need during hot summer months. With much more cheese though. It is very refreshing but at same time when eaten with bread it can provide me with enough energy. Onions and bell peppers can be added, spring onions.. spices can be added too. Also during summer vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers taste so much better when there is enough sun for them to ripen naturally. During winter traditionally we eat pickled vegetables and sour cabbage salads much more than fresh vegetables. Ajvar, great topping. Grilled bell peppers with oil and garlic.
I don't know if anybody told you , but you can eat "corba" by adding spun or two vinegar in it. It will be little more sour (if you like it). Or you can eat with out it.
Just so you know, Skadarlija was not under construction, but under renovation. I hope that they don't ruin it, they do have a tendency to do that lately...
ali zasto komentar sa pljuvanjem po svome?? Zasto de-bi.lu? Zasto? Mogao si samo reci prvu recenicu i zavrsiti,..cemu to "oni" imaju tendencije...ove ili one,..kao da to ikoga u inostranstvu i na ovom mestu interesuje
Well, rakija is not a shooter drink. It is made with care, so it should be consumed also with care and slowly, in little sipps, so you can feel the flavour.
What was the biggest culture shock you guys had so far, both positive and negative? What are the things you like better here and what are the things you like better back home😁 overall the biggest difference you've noticed
What do you guys think about serbian music😂? Is there any song you like listening to? And have you ever been in serbian nightclub (before this whole thing...)? You two are so cute and it is really interesting for us Serbs to hear other peoples thoughts on our country. Ps it would be very funny if you film reaction on serbian songs, i wish you the best!
You two are really cute, I'm happy you like in Serbia, I seen you few days ago for the first time on yt, I watched your videos, and I think I got your story, and was so surprised in the best way by both of you, and by the way you doing so good here with us in Serbia. You have all of my best wishes and love, and hope you wil stay so cute and happy in the future, and wil enjoy Serbia all the way.

hi...great video`bout Serbian food...Q. is -are you both from Arizona and which city? PS-if it`s too private for you both...Just tell us from which state are you from?....thnkx😉🌴🌴🌴
Hello guys! I really hope you bought some of those schnapps from that grandma (street seller of domestic serbian products like honey and fruit brandies), but ofcourse-only in case you know how to drink (how to master the spirit of alchohol, instead of becomming it's slaves)! It was obvious she wanted very much that to happen but also was pushing it very politely, and I know from experience that it's very good and authentic stuff, at least here in Novi Sad. Orahovača(orahovacha, walnut brandy) and Medovina (honey brandy) are the best, the base is always plum- or apple brandy, but then (in Orahovača and Medovina) additionally naturally flavoured with walnuts and honey, or solely with honey...Those people make very little money for living and basically over 90% of the whole population is poor, especially now in the days of post socialism, post civil war, post Nato bombing and running liberal capitalism...And 2500 serbian dinars for two full menus is NOT cheap, at least for domestic standards i.e. customs, and I'm not telling you this as some stingy local eastern european serbian man, but simply want you to know ( average income is about 400 euros, but even that only as average value, the most frequent one is not higher than 300 euros) and they have been charged you there and then for that brandname (that it's famous Skadarlija), just that you know (ofcourse, on the other hand, there can be exactly MEANING to go there, as a famous and good place). But if you want to eat good for even cheaper, especially on regular basis, there should be those local small not pretentious restaurants with similar domestic dishes, for at least half of that price (actually about 300-max 400 dinars per meal with schnitzel, mashed potatoes, spinach and similar stuff), at least here in Novi Sad (even in Budapest or Szeged there are), Belgrade and Serbians south of Danube are much more costy and greedy, at least in general. Hope you also discovered very afordable and good local wines and beers (again, I like to mention-mainly to be consumed only as a complement to the fat, oppulent meal!), try any from Rubin (roobeen, means ruby (- the gem stone), it's well known and old serbian wine brand) ask for "rubinovo" (roobeeenovo, means Rubin's) vino (wine), it's available in all bigger food stores, they make various afordable nice red and white wines from global wine sorts (but see that it contains AT LEAST 13% of alchohol, it's a pretty reliable sign of decent quality), but ofcourse if you are loaded and interasted in those things, visit any of noumerous small privat vinehouses, there is plenty of them, offering visiting and degustation, and bottled wine from these could as well be found even in ordinary food stores. Local beers are also pretty good, at least today, Jelen (means Deer) pivo (peevo, =beer) is very good, light lager, and if you prefer dark (good) ones - you have to turn to cans and to Czech Republic (also available in supermarkets). Ofcourse, try different types of burek (non sweet sort of pies, stuffed with cotage chees/ minced meat) as famous street food (to be eaten BEFORE deserts like palačinke), pljeskavica/ ćevapi and - gibanica (geebanitza): A luxorious version of burek with cheese, made with sheep cheese, if done generously. Greetings and all the best, you are so beautiful, cute and charming young couple!
Well, it's not cheap if you have money. I live in Serbia, but i really want to visit USA, i don't know why but i feel like i really want to. Also i want to be in warm place like LA, i know they say its bad there now, but any place with similar climate, i just hate winter and cold. And whenever i see any footage of USA streets or houses or cars i get strange feeling like i'm home, i really don't feel like Serbia is my home i kinda feel like i don't fit in this society and think i think differently. I also don't like pecenje for example, rostilj not soo much, sarma meh. Also i have no much of a family, everyone is seperated. I live with father and stepmom, father isn't even here in Serbia always and i have no brothers and sister. So i'm not that family bound also.
Next time order "Sarma" you will not regret it, belive me, if you're not vegetarian. Also "Teleća čorba" (calf soup) is famous meal for those skinnies to get stronger and healthy. And BTW yr "Skadarlija" is perfect sounds almost like yre from this area.
