Behind the bag!! It gets through Buckner here comes knight & the Mets win it ! Most exciting comeback in baseball history, called by Vin scully. R.i.p. that was the best ending call as well.
Yes Game 7 was postponed due to rain and pushed back to Monday which as far as I am concerned was a break for the Red Sox as they could start Bruce Hurst as opposed to Oil Can Boyd who was hit hard in Game 3 and Hurst had been dominating against the Mets in game 1 and 5. He dominated in game 7 for five innings but ran out of gas in the 6th and the Mets took advantage.
Mookie said anything near the plate he was swinging cause he wasn't gonna let the ump call anything crazy. All his foul balls allowed for something to happen , hence the wild pitch.

2:49:43 The start of the 10th inning. Probably the craziest inning ever in MLB history
Wow! I can really hear Gary Thorne's New England accent.
I'm not sure, but wasn't this game played on October 25th, then game 7 got pushed to the 27th, because it rained on the 26th. I could be wrong.
You're not wrong. Oil Can Boyd was slated to pitch game 7 the next night. The rainout allowed Bruce Hurst to start game 7

I wonder if the Boston radio broadcast of this game still exists. I have never heard their call of Mookie's fateful at-bat.
It does! I just found it on RUclips a few minutes ago.
