Your little Fiat and her trailer look really cute. Better than most of the other vehicles on the ship. And I give her the respect she deserves. Seriously high mileage, small engine but she gamely battles through. The only other car I really liked was a W126 Mercedes. That's the same as I drive. (Mine is called Sadie).
I've not been to tenerife but have been to lanzarote close by a few times when I was a teen and I can remember seeing all the classic 80s and 90s mercs all the cabs were old diesel mercs with half a million miles on them and not a spot of rust. The pros of living in an arid climbate. Glad to see the old motors are still going strong over there.
Made exactly the same trip with the same ship back in November last year, with three dogs and two cats, no trailer but the car was jam packed. The only difference is, we have settled in France and are enjoying every day after finally finding our forever house. I wish you both well and look forward to seeing the rest of your journey. Take care and drive safely.
Seems like yesterday you were arriving in Tenerife and now you’re back on mainland Spain. Nicely found stop over Monika, so reasonably priced, mind you haven’t seen inside yet😊Looking forward to the next instalment
Freddie & Monica, I appreciate how well you have spoken about Tenerife during your stay and I will miss the explorations around the island, but I will follow the new adventures. For what I can help from Tenerife, they have me here. Best regards
Great video as always, very informative and interesting and shot so well! One thing I’ve noticed in your video is your song soundtracks, not only do they fit in so well, but mostly music I’ve never heard before!! I think you have a good taste in music, I don’t know if these are modern groups or older ones that I have missed, but all are very enjoyable! Please could you perhaps add the titles and artists of the music you play after every video for us music fans. Very best wishes.
Forgot to mention in my earlier comment, that have only just found your site, and love it, the video quality is excellent, only wish the dashcam footage on my Stag looked as good. Emigrating to Tenerife in 2004 in my Classic Triumph Stag was the best decision my wife & I ever made - wish I had video'd that journey, as repeated it again a year later in my wife's "Modern" car.
Hey Freddie, just watched your last two recordings, my Sunday morning treat! Must get out more! Time has flown for you guys, must say a huge thank you for all your content on the Islands,
Really nice summary. Have been on a few long ferry trips before between Sweden and Harwich/ uk. It does not leave any pleasant memories what so ever. Look forward to your onwards journey.
Thanks as always for your vids. Following with much interest. I must say i,m very impressed with your little Fiat 500 and it,s amazing abilities for a small car, proves you dont need big vehicles to have a great road trip. Thanks again.
Sad to see the end of the Tenerife trip. Helped to get me through the British winter. Enjoyed every episode and looking forward to the next set of adventures.
Hi, Magic ALL THE WAY . You both tell a very good story , warts and all in the pool , the little Fiat is going to work hard . Well you sold me Tenerife ,have a great and safe trip home .Thanks for a wonderful eight months and how the time has flown by . Catch you on the next one .😀
Another great video Freddie & Monika! A bit sad to see the Tenerife episodes coming to an end but looking forward what the future brings for you. Thank you for making us part of the journey. Looking forward to seeing what’s next! I hope you made it safe and sound back to the UK. All the best!
Really Sad to see u guys leaving Tenerife .....that place really defined you as a couple as a travel blogger as a food blogger as a humane being as a gentle man and kind woman .....
I'm a late convert to your Channel Freddie. I really liked the older bikes reviews, totally relevant and great back drops too. Best of luck to you and Monika (clearly the brains of the outfit 😀). Living the dream 👏
Really interested in watching the journey of the car heading home as well as you two, that rear suspension is definitely going to be tested to the limit due to Monica's spending 😂 I'm sure the Tenerife tourist dept will miss your lovely videos of the Island. They certainly made me think about returning one day. Safe travels...
It’s been great seeing your blogs from Tenerife it’s a holiday place I’ve been going for the last 5 years running. (Barcelo Santiago) fantastic hotel. I’ll keep an eye out for you and Monika at the Bike Shed Show. Keep up the good reports.
Well Freddie and Monica, I want to thank you for your wonderful adventures in Tenerife. It was a beautiful place. And Monica did a truly amazing job presenting it to the world. And you did pretty good to Freddie 👍. I’m very much looking forward to your new adventures. And also a big shout out to the Fiat 500 !!! Hey, every biker needs a backup if the bike breaks down. Yours just happens to be a lady’s white Fiat 😜
What a lovely ferry. At the other end of the scale try the Steam Racket during TT week, you’d be lucky to find a space on the floor to park your behind taking turns at sitting on each other’s laps. At least it’s less than 4 hours each way. Even if you have no interest in racing you have to get yourself over there one year Freddie !
seeing how you've crammed all of your belongings into your car and trailer like that makes me think of a dream that I occasionally have where I take back more than I brought with me from a trip abroad. In one dream I had to hire a shipping container!
You forgot to mention that there is a 20 cent discount on petrol on Tenerife, so price per litre is around 1,26 eur… I could not believe my eyes when i filled my fiat 500 rental for i think 29 euros haha. This series was awesome, found your channel while i was searching for destinations for my spring trip. Your videos convinced me and i spent an awesome 10 days in Tenerife, want to go bac for good. :)
I'd have to get a cabin for that journey. Fair play for doing it without a cabin. Might be time to invest in a roof box or little cargo trailer for your next trip. Looking forward to your next road trips 🙂
Monika and Freddie, That Ferry seems to have everything on it you need to survive a long trip. Nice way to travel if you have to travel that distance. I’m so glad your channel was suggested by RUclips on the right hand side of Videos I might be interested in. I watched a lot of your videos during the daytime on your channel before ever commenting. RUclips has kept me from losing my mind completely given my current status. Safe Travels the rest of the way home. Till the next video.
Hi Freddie whatch your journey from the start and looved it you and monica doing a brilliant job watching your journey back to England and looking forward to your next journey keep up the great vlog fello biker
I moan about the costs of the ferry back to Ireland but that really is expensive (for a much longer crossing), always enjoy the videos and might bump into you at the Bike shed show!
Great video guys i would just say to put the spare tyre a bit lower so its behind the front seats in the event of heavy breaking or a accident that could come forward and hit one of you safe trip
what?..no farms?..LOL...cant wait to see the two of you packed into that little car..LOL..Hopefully the fiat will be ok...LOL...another great video...and as always..great choice of music Monica...
Hi guy's, hope you have a safe trip back, just a word about the trailer, if you can it would be worth greasing the tow hitch, even if you spray loads of wd40 on it I think it would help with the noise.
Nice to see that Fiat 500 work so well. I have a 500 C 2017, i would like to take the Fiat to Spain but afraid that it will break on the road to Spain. Which are your Main complains About the car except size and lack of power?
Honestly Eward- no complaints at all. It’s the most reliable car I’ve ever owned by a huge distance. It’s been completely faultless and I’d very happily drive it around the world👌🏻 Exceptional reliability, very cheap to maintain and every garage stocks parts because it’s so popular, not a spot of rust and it will happily pull a 360kg trailer at 80mph all day🙂💪🏼
@@FreddieDobbs at that milage it must have had the usual Fiat suspension rubbers done? Ours has done 128k less than yours and its already had 2 rear shocks and 2 front control arms, usual wear and tear stuff but seems typical of the 500s. Everything else has been great on it, we love ours, cheap motoring
Ferries are so expensive. 530 GBP! 350 more for a cabin! Football manager? Who do you support, Freddie? Mainland Europe: I cant wait to see it again. Get the bikes back on the road and ride around Spain on one. The longest I have done on a ferry is 24 hours. I hate ferries, but rolling on and off one on a bike is cool. I didnt realise petrol was so much more expensive in Spain than Tenerife.
Sad you left Tenerife but glad to be be with you on the road again :) I looove road trips! Honestly, Monika and Freddie, how was your feeling when the ship left the port of Tenerife?? Cheers from Algiers.
Sad that you are leaving Tenerife, we've enjoyed the whole series and learned lots about the island. Looking forward to your next adventures, particularly the bike ride from Ipswich to Spain. One question Freddie, how have you managed to get around the Schengen 90 day conundrum??
You were here and then gone. So quick. Too quick. But you got to experience “The Perfect Life” - as I call it 😉. The ferry to Huelva is 75% subsidised by the EU if you’re a Canary Island resident - as are flight to and from the mainland. So it’s not so expensive if you’re living here in Tenerife as a permanent resident. You just need to be in the Padrón (like the electoral roll) and pay for a Travel Certificate valid for 6 months. You do both a your local town hall (Ayuntamiento). No VAT on anything in the Canary Islands. That’s why the fuel seems so cheap … it’s 20% less due to VAT. We’re in Europe (EU) but not in the customs Union. So special tax breaks - it’s call an on-shore tax haven (rather than off-shore). Safe trip Freddie and Monika. Hope to see you back here soon. There are SO MANY adventures yet to explore. 🤠 TobyOne

Nice one ....
Felt quite sad seeing the ferry pull away !
well done monika for laughing all the way thru ;;
Love to know what the trusty Fiat has been doing mpg wise......
