    This is about 4 years leave but I recently acquired the orange bezel version on stainless steel band, and for the 80$ I paid I can't quite say anything negative at all. The bezel, as you stated, is by far one of the best I've experienced. 120 click and zero play!. I don't own anything higher end than a Tissot Auto and a Tag Heuer Quartz, and this is impressive. I think, if the steel band was a few levels up, I would pay more and be a lot more satisfied than my Formula 1. Two different watches but band aside, I think they can go head to head. Understand that this is a 140$ new and for that, you get all around applied markers and logos, and a detailed dial. That's not cheap to do.
    The links on the band is folded, not solid as they appear. The clasp is typical pressed fold over, but again this is a watch I paid 80$ for at a retail store . I love this watch and all it's offerings

      I have the chrono version. I've had it for a few years now, and I'm impressed with the quality of it. I also own an Omega PO 45.5mm.

    I managed to snag the orange bezel version on a bracelet, I also had another Casio with a curved-end resin band which fits perfectly, which I can swap in when I want a change of look. The movement in these is a Miyota that costs about $5 to replace if anything goes wrong.

      I've had the chronograph version for a few years now and the watch is running great. I've had to change the batteries and thats about it. I recommend this watch.

    Just came across your video, I bought the orange bezel stainless band version about 5 years ago , absolutely nothing to complain about, I've actually had a few people comment on it they were very surprised when I told them it was a $80 watch

    It is a 44 mm case. Great watch had for three years and battery died. Replaced and still keeps perfect time. Good review.

    Thank you for this great review. I just bought this same watch but with the black bezel insert and the stainless steel bracelet. It is model EFM100D-1A1VEF ( I agree, Casio watches really need catchy nick names) and it was only available to the European and Asian markets. Unfortunately, it was never sold in North America. Mine came from a watch store in the United Kingdom.
    You had mentioned that the screw down crown was a surprising feature for a watch in this price range. Casio is unique in the world of watches in that they have several lower priced models with screw down crowns. The 200 meter water resistant Duro models all have screw down crowns and they're even cheaper than the EFM100-1AV Edifice diver. The MDV302D-1AV and the MDV106-1A are two watches in the Duro line that are in the $60 and $40 range, respectively. The MDV106-1A, just because it is a bit cheaper than the EFM100-1AV, would be my personal pick as the best weekend/beater dive watch. It doesn't have the day of the week though and its dial with a sunray pattern is nowhere near as nice looking as the wave textured dial of the EFM100-1AV, hence its lower price.
    If you want a reliable watch that won't break the bank, you can't go wrong with just about any Casio watch in my opinion.

    Looking the proportions with the 20 mm resin band, I don't think it's a 50 mm watch.
    May be you can juste confirme this to us?

    Thanks for your review of this very nice looking watch. I have recently found another Casio gem, the MTD1053D model dive watch which I bought from Amazon. I personally love it as I have a small wrist and it fits perfectly on me. It has a 40mm case and is rated at 200M water resistance with a screw down crown. There are two models of watch, one in black which I purchased while on holiday in Malta, and another in blue which I purchased on Amazon UK at around £40 only last month. The blue is incredible looking and people have commented on it. I personally have not seen a watch of this quality at this price range. A really nice job by Casio and for a change not a massive chunk on your wrist. It would be nice if you would review this watch to see what you think, I think it really is a gem. I enjoy watching your videos.

      I also have the blue one and maaan it's simply stunning! Under some angle the blue dial even looks black, so it's even better than there black one!

    Never seen this model Wave dial is pretty nice like the old model Omega Seamaster. Battery used is SR626SW
    with
    Approx. battery life: 3 years. I prefer the Casio MTD-1051 I have which has a 10 year battery. It goes on and on....

    Had one too, sold mine to a friend for 100 USD. Bought 2 at KOHLS , other one I still have, its a CHRONO its a black dial 2 reg red, . 12 and 6 o clock, w red dive bezel, same case as above , came with same ridiculous steel rubber dive strap, which I pulled immediately and replaced with perforated black lea. white stitch rally strap 22mm., looks great, but difficult to wear with that red clashes with most accept approp.red / flat blk tee or polo, same exact chrono was offered in blue combo same as above except 2 reg chrono layout, red better looking and much rarer and pulls more on ebay too, unfortunately no red 3 hander , poormans black bay was ever offered, wonder why? good video / review/ very PRO Sir

      Oleg Suprun Hey man, i need your help right here. I'm planing to buy this watch, but with the chronograph function (EFM-501) for christmas, but it seems to be a little bit large, i have a 6,5 in wrist and i don't know how is it going to fit on me. I have a Casio Duro Marlin (MDV-106) and it fits just perfect, but i don't know if the Edifice is bigger o the same size as my Duro. What do you think man?

  • @grantgre
    @grantgre 6 лет назад

    the watch would be perfect except for the dial look which appears kind of fuzzy and not clear. I think this is from the dial and glass which is probably a mineral. If i could I would change the glass.

    Does anyone have access to the full manual? Is this rated for Scuba diving? I just purchased a different Casio 200 m rated watch, but it is NOT rated for SCUBA diving.

    • @maverickwatchreviews

      All Casio manuals are available on their site :)

    • @jackfedersail90
      @jackfedersail90 7 лет назад

      Thanks, but when I go to the site (at least American) it give the manuals only for the modules, not the watch itself. Those portions of the manuals do not indicate environmental conditions etc. So there is no indication if the watch is rated for diving.

    • @maverickwatchreviews
      @maverickwatchreviews  7 лет назад +3

      JackFeder Sail It's 200m rated so yes, you can dive with it.

      **UPDATE** forget the email - added now
      The manual that came with MY watch (AD-S800WH) states specifically that it is NOT rated for SCUBA diving even though it DOES HAVE a 200M rating on the front and a "Water Resistant 20 Bar" rating on the back. Here is the exact wording from the printed manual that came with the watch....
      "Do not use this watch for scuba diving or other types of diving that requires air tanks."
      Also, the chart that indicates examples of daily use does not have a row for SCUBA diving, even for the 200M rated watches. The older Casios did.
      In addition, I have the following email response from Casio:
      " Thank you for contacting Casio America.
      I am sorry for the confusion however we only have one watch approved fro diving, which is ISO rated. It is the Frogman.
      All other watches are 200 meter water resistant however they are not ISO rated therefore not approved for diving.
      Thank You
      Erika
      CASIO AMERICA, INC.
      570 Mt. Pleasant Avenue Dover, NJ 07801
      www.casio.com
      "
      In the above email, I wonder if the comma should have been omitted. That is, perhaps they have only one watch suitable for diving that is ISO rated for diving? Or are they considering that the only watch suitable for diving is one that is ISO rated for scuba diving?
      The reason I am suspicious about my watch is that it uses a TOUGH SOLAR module that is rated for 100M on other watches, but in this one they rated it 200M and said it is not suitable for diving. Or for legal reasons they are refusing to claim that any watch not that does not meet ISO rating is not for diving?
      In any case, the watch is not that critical for diving as i will use a dive computer for timing and the watch is just timing backup under water. I ordered the DURO 200M and if it fails, not a large cost.
