As a LC owner, I absolutely LOVE my 2020 LC 500! Considered C8 and BMW 8 series before, but the Lexus LC built and ride quality just captured my heart. No regret on my purchase at all.
I agree..I have a 2019 daily driver.. had the C8 on order until pandemic issues..will have to wait awhile but will have both..since it is apples to oranges. .completely different type cars..love my LC, it is perfection in every way.:-) I highly recommend it to anyone wanting luxury and comfort in a sporty package.
The Queen maybe I'm boring but I find reliability a very appealing quality! I considered the c8 as well but went with the LC. A year later, I still smile Everytime I get into the car.
Same! I checked out the 8 series but I didn’t “feel” anything. I checked out the LC and absolutely fell in love. I swear I could just sit in my garage and stare at it some days. To me, it’s a work of art.
The Queen you are convincing me on getting one! Do you have any trouble because the car is low? I live in Seattle so I need to have that in consideration!
If you do the research on the LC500, you will realize it is worth every penny and then some. The C8 is a great car and the dream for everyone until you mature and start to appreciate some other things besides 0-60 times. The LC is built in the Takumi plant where master craftsmen put them together. The interior blows anything under 200K out of the water. The reliability is untouchable and this vehicle is such a great all-arounder. Vette's have their place but this vehicle is a classic and will be timeless. The quality of a Vette doesn't come close to an LC500 and, unless you track your car a lot, the Vette is less practical and not aas special as an LC500. Reliability and build quality are also a different galaxy than a Vette. Both cars have their place but in the long run and overall, the LC500 is a much better vehicle to enjoy and live with for a longer period of time.
The LC 500 is easily worth 100k, especially if you plan to keep it forever. You get excellent Lexus build quality and reliability from a car that can be daily driven. This thing will still be on the road well past 100k miles. Its a very good looking car that you don't see around every corner (like a modern day LFA). Remember people this is a luxury GT and not a sports/track car. Definitely my ultimate dream car!
I just bought my LC 500 today. I've never seen so many people stop to stare at car before. In 2022, I've seen 3 C8's on my 5 minute drive to work before. It's a gorgeous car, don't get me wrong, but the roads are starting to get cluttered with them where I live.
Apples and oranges. The two cars represent two different categories. The sports car category is the one people have a hard time understanding. The GT category has serious competition as well. The Lexus has a future style that competes with Astons or Jaguars.

The corvette just looks like every other super car, the LC has an unique style, attention to details and luxury quality inside and out, plus the corvette is mass produced car. Some people just can’t identify the finest car even when they’re seating on it.
The LC is definitely worth the price. You are paying for a luxury car that is Extremely well made, reliable and still gets up and goes. Crazy to think that 471hp is not enough now a days. Maybe Lexus should shed a lil weight or bump up the torque.
I'm one of those weirdo's who is a Lexus person, yet have never owned one..yet. I currently drive a 2021 Mazda 3 turbo hatch which is similar to the LC 500 in some ways...and before the screaming starts, I'm aware they are light years away from being comparable apples to apples😂 What I mean is this..the Mazda 3 turbo hatch is powerful and fast, but not the fastest in class (GTI/R, Elantra N etc) or the best at the limit handler. Having said that, it is more than fast enough and handles well at slightly more than legal speeds on public roads...all most people will ever need. What the Mazda does give you is a very nice interior, comfortable supportive seats and a great sounding stereo system. See where I'm going here with the LC 500 comparo? People who chase stat sheet bragging rights or hate Lexus will never get anything they make. Lexus is never going to have a single model that beats all the competition in all areas, but what they do very well is make a car you rarely regret buying...provided you get what Lexus is about. So in that sense I get it...and am a Lexus guy.
I bought the LC 500 a year ago, had a few German cars in the past but absolutely love this car, it puts a fixed smile on your face every time I drive it. If you want fast, but an electric performance car! If you want something special buy the LC!

In pretty much every other category, the Chevy will fall way behind. If you only care about speed/$ ratio, get a tubbed funny car. If you want a real, well-rounded, beautifully designed and engineered work of art that's destined to be a classic, get an LC. Aloha!

It’s got 158k on it and it’s been in the family that long. If you have the money to drop on new cars all the time, cool. But that LC500 is gonna go 25+ years with no problems.

The ‘21 LC with dynamic handling pack is built different. It gives even more of a dual personality to the driving experience. You convinced me to get one 👍
Two different cars, one's a touring car and the other is a track car. I owned two, Lexus LS460L and ES 350 and you can not beat their reliability and dependability. 😊
Let's talk about reliability; there is really no comparison in this regard. The LC will be rock steady reliable for 20 years, whereas the Corvette will cost the owner megabucks to own past the warranty.
To me, if you can capture a solid smooth ride luxury, with sports performance AND reliability!!!! LC 500 and believe me it turns heads, I nearly broke me neck driving down the highway when one in the opposite side passed me I was like what the hell was that!? Did some looking into it and I'm like wow I like the c8 too, but to me in the above luxury performance and reliability is always a winner. I could see driving the LC500 from NC to CA to be fun and a pleasure. Doing that in a C8 would be fun for the first 80-100 miles but then I'd say how many more miles? Ugh! Im sure the c8 isn't as comfortable. Thanks for reading
Let's face it, the Corvette is really awesome but it's a race car. It just doesn't look like something you'd drive on public roads. That's not to say you shouldn't but it's really not just a vehicle for normal everyday transportation. If you want to go to the track and test the performance of a C8, THAT'S what it is created for. For a trip to McDonald's, the Mall, the Movies, errands, Post Office, out to dinner etc., the LC500 is your everyday really nice car with styling up the ying yang. Taking a Corvette to McDonald's for a BigMac just like taking an Indy Car to the golf course. Sure, you could do it but it's simply out of place. For sheer fun and excitement the Corvette might edge out the LC. If you had to pick just one of the two cars to live with and drive every single day in all kinds of weather, clearly the LC500 wins hands down. Many will disagree and isn't that what makes life interesting?
I enjoyed this video. I have owned a 1991 ZR-1 and currently own a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V with the super charged LS5. Both were/are awesome. I love a high performance sedan and that Lexus is wonderful. I will, however, keep my 556 HP CTS-V and hopefully buy a C8.
Imagine driving a corvette then driving this and saying that the corvette has a very similar quality interior LMAO But it makes sense, that is why you drive a corvette
These 2 cars are both great cars and a good problem to have if you are deciding which one to buy. I had a 2LT C8 deposit the 2nd day after the reveal. I sat in the C8 numerous times at the dealer when they had the demo car. It's an amazing car and looks better in person than in pictures. I cancelled my deposit 1 month before delivery and bought a red LC500. I don't regret it at all, the LC500 looks amazing in person and in my opinion has a better proportion than the C8. The C8 is obviously a sports car and has the performance to back it up. That's not saying the lc500 is slow. Realistically if you live in a city you will not be driving at either car's full capability. I bought the LC500 because it looks like a 200k car. A Maserati gt is slower , has a worse interior , doesn't look as good but is more expensive than the LC. Unless you're a badge whore the LC is the best GT you can buy under 150k. It has the reliability and luxury that you can enjoy daily with a peace of mind. And it's amazing to drive with an exhaust note of a muscle car. In the end it depends on what your priorities are. If you want a luxury cruiser that is excellent to drive and looks like a futuristic concept car then the LC500 is a better choice. If you want blistering speed, raw performance then you will not find a better car under 80k than the C8. Honestly if I had kept my deposit and gotten the c8 I wouldn't regret it either. It's like comparing an Bently coupe to a Ferrari. One is more luxurious and the other is more sporty. No one is going to be disappointed choosing one over another.
Great review, I like both, but I think the price difference is reflective of the car quality. Lexus can mechanically run almost forever while the c8 is a GM product. Only one of the two companies had class action lawsuits recently due to v8 engine issues. And it's not the company that made the LC500.
Two different cars for two different types of people! For a younger minded person - get the Corvette C8 fully loaded; for an older driver I think the LC 500 is the car to buy! The C8 is at the top of the Corvette engineering form and we can only pray that the ICE car continues onward into the future. The LC 500 will probably be undergoing a complete re-design in 2026 or 2027!
Also considering both but an older Z06 C7. Hard decision...and I own 2 cadillac escalades and a 2ss Camaro. So hard to put a Lexus in the garage over the z06
@@alexralston22 I have a C7 stingray and it just hauls ass compared to the LC, but the LC feels so solid and of quality, I feel like the C7 is going to have transmission problems after the warranty is up, it has choppy shifting sometimes (automatic) and I just felt the transmission on the LC is so smooth, it just feels like I won’t have to have it rebuilt ever.
@@alexralston22 I wouldn't say its Garbage, I would just opt for a Manual because the automatic seems finicky to me- the motor is great - I would just disable the Cylinder deactivation feature to avoid uneven wear on the motor for "gas savings"

I think both are nice cars and just hobfo what u want it's your money anyways, but if u want a gt that can go fast and still feel excellent at daily driving go for the Lexus and it u want a raw performance car just get the c8, they compete in different categories
It's a legit comparison and I've seen it on a couple of Lexus forums. If a person has brand loyalty, then they will go with their brand. I could be happy with either of them. Corvettes have always been America's sport car. Lexus puts its focus on precision and details.
Lexus is a luxury GT where C8 is a sports car.. reliability is better in LC500 where C8's not upto the reliability standards of lexus. Definitely LC is not a super car. These two cars represent totally different types of buyers. C8 looks so sporty and aggressive where LC500 looks calm and classy.
The time for mixing up the C8 with Ferrari has passed my friend. Rest assure no-one will mistake the C8 with a Lambo or Ferrari give me a break. But GM has designed a great affordable American dream car. I just wish the C8 was more reliable, my friend had tranny issues which for some reason got stuck between gears. The LC is in a whole different level. C8 is more a performance car, the LC 500 is more like OMG I can't stop driving this car.
I liked the C8 when it came out, but then I saw the reliability reports, I back out and took my deposit. I just submitted the order for LC500 and might get a 2024/2025 model. I decided for the coupe with Ultrasonic Blue.
If it was the low and sporty Corvette it would’ve been really tough to choose which go with But since it’s the C8 model, the LC500 is an absolute choice❣️
Even though it's rare to see it on the streets, the thing I hate most about the Lexus LC500 is that it looks too much like every other Lexus on the road today from the front view. At the rear, it looks too much like an Acura Integra. The C8 Corvette is common at car shows, but somewhat rare to see on the streets.
i'll take the C8. Its all wheel drive, so much better perfomance, better inforatiment system. Sure LC does look 'Classier" and has better reptutation, but with the extra money saved getting the 8, i'll tune the C8 for even more fun, maybe even turbo and enough to cover any repair cost. C8 is also going to have a very large after market parts so many more option to customize the car vs LC pretty much going to be the same accross the board. And stypling looks is subjkective so some may like LC over C8 or Vice Versa. C8 for the Win on this one.
one needs to appreciate the quality of the interior materials and the paint and design and the historic reliability and the normally aspirated engine... and when compared to a car that like a semi-custom aston martin, the $150,000 price is not outlandish at all. performance-wise it's not worth $150,000... but man does not live by bread alone..
I own a 2021 3LT C8 HTC Z51. I have also driven the LC500 and I love both cars. I have to agree with you in that the LC is a little over priced. I know for the 2019 models that were still not sold in 2020 the dealers in Atlanta were offering 15-18k off the MSRP and I almost bought one, but I wanted a convertible. In my opinion the LC500 is more of a Sport Touring car and the C8 is a Sportscar. I think in the long run the LC will be more reliable. This is just my opinion so I not going to argue with you if you disagree. Loved the comparison though.
Great review. Sometimes when i'm driving in my outdated RX400H, I pretend i'm really driving a brand new 2023 LC500. But then I snap back to reality and start to cry 😅
Anyone owns 2 cars ? I am deciding between the two. I like the sound of C8 but not much of LC500. LC500 exterior looks really outdated but I prefer the LC500 interior than C8. So hard to pick between the 2.
Awesome comparison, great intro comparison, interview, and test drive. I love how you performed picture comparisons of the two. Your content, dialogue, and presentation has grown greatly! Kudos, I learned a lot about personal luxury vs a Sports car with personal luxury at a world class levels!
Amazing conversation. I respect that dude as well! Great head on his shoulders for 23 years old! Both you guys doing great things with your lives and seem very genuine! Honestly since the c8 came out, I've really thought about it a lot. The value is intense! I have to take care of my parents because of this whole thing going on (they're old and my dad is high risk with corona) so I need a sedan, but hey I got a sexy Vector Blue 2018 CTS-V so I'm feeling that Z06 engine love! Hey where are you at? You seem knowledgeable but be careful with those tires in the winter! Under 40 degrees summer tires turn into hockey pucks! I got a set of wheels and winter tires for the V and it makes the car year round drivable (and pretty darn amazing in the snow!), so I just wanted to give you a heads up just in case so you can stay safe. ✌

That Lexus LC 500 is just too appealing 😍😍😍😍💯💯💯💯
Yeah it is
Wish I could have both... But went with the c8. It just has that supercar vibe
Omg... debating between C8 convertible and 500 convertible...now I think I'm going to 500 coupe.. thanks for vid subbed to both channels! Great info.
The lc500 is the best looking drop top vehicle ever.
What color?
Love the lc500
Lexus. Rolling art and reliability! Hands down!
Reliability for sure
Nice video. Enjoyed the convo
Thanks man! Where are you from?
Lc 500 all the way!!!
I have sc430 for about 10 years now everyone hates it , which is why I love it. Want to put it away and buy a lc 500.
Imagine driving a corvette then driving this and saying that the corvette has a very similar quality interior LMAO
But it makes sense, that is why you drive a corvette
Perfectly said...:-)
I have a 2021 LC 500 and just got word my deposit on a 2023 C8 is going to be built soon. Now I am wondering which one I will keep....maybe both?
@@everettwarnerjr4813 drop the vette, its already aging looking like a Camaro in the back
Fast forward to today, C8s are everywhere
Yes they are everywhere
Great review, I like both, but I think the price difference is reflective of the car quality. Lexus can mechanically run almost forever while the c8 is a GM product. Only one of the two companies had class action lawsuits recently due to v8 engine issues. And it's not the company that made the LC500.
is the insurance payments the same for the lexus vs corvette ???
That CL 500 was my next dream car until the C8 was released..One of the most beautiful cars on the market.
Same here! The C8 truly looks like a super car, even if it isn’t without the zo6 package
$50k - $60k…this guy’s a joke. Worth more than his Vette 🤷♂️
Man's that's not even a discussion, lexus lc 500 all day everyday, and the c8 looks lifted compared to a Ferrari or any other super car
Lexus LC any day of the week.
Great shots at the beginning, thank you!
Great video my friend, it’s cool that you guys did reviews on each other’s cars.
The LC 500 is much better looking
If you had to do it again would you stay with the coupe over the convertible
The engine sound of the lexus is incredible! It sounds like a bear: MMMmm Honey!
Now that's one happy bear.
I have the C8, put deposit on a z06, looking to get into the lc until z06 comes out. Good video!
Great video, I am a sucker for that LC 500 tbh
For me LC 500
Hard decision for me. Want an older Z06 C7 but the lc has my attention
That’s a very good point!!!
Love this review and comparison, both cars I’m considering!
@@hyplerai I appreciate your input. It's alot of money and I don't want to write a check for garbage. That's awesome you own both of them!
@@alexralston22 I wouldn't say its Garbage, I would just opt for a Manual because the automatic seems finicky to me- the motor is great - I would just disable the Cylinder deactivation feature to avoid uneven wear on the motor for "gas savings"
@@hyplerai agree. But I consider anything that has a problem garbage of it's costs me a years salary. Im going to write a check for whatever I buy so thank for the input! I'm leaning towards the LC....coming from a chevy guy. Give me some more review points. This is going to be expensive. Thank you Jeff!
The rims on the lc have to go!!!!
The Lexus paint looks like a candy apple. There’s depth and shine there. The Corvette is a flat red. I prefer the look of the Lexus.
I completely understand that
@@cgarnerspeed252 cheers mate
I love the LC but I was there was a 4 door variant like the M8. Still a great car but I like having an all around great daily car.
Ty sir. These are the 2 models on my radar.
LC500 is awesome, C8, as well. LC500 is just different in so many ways.
That face you make whenever you smash the throttle says you want one. 😁
i like both of them, but the lexus is class, build to last high quality its just more my thing
True! Well some people may lol
Congrats to both of you on two amazing cars. I wish Lexus spent a billion to put the motor behind the driver. That would be the perfect car!!!
Thanks my friend!!
I liked the C8 when it came out, but then I saw the reliability reports, I back out and took my deposit. I just submitted the order for LC500 and might get a 2024/2025 model. I decided for the coupe with Ultrasonic Blue.
Nice I completely understand that
If it was the low and sporty Corvette it would’ve been really tough to choose which go with
But since it’s the C8 model, the LC500 is an absolute choice❣️
What? lol
I drove and Corvette zo6 and I loved it. The car had 500hp and nice performance for a sports car
Even though it's rare to see it on the streets, the thing I hate most about the Lexus LC500 is that it looks too much like every other Lexus on the road today from the front view. At the rear, it looks too much like an Acura Integra. The C8 Corvette is common at car shows, but somewhat rare to see on the streets.
the lc 500 is a gt car, not a supercar, for me, I think the LC is better looking, but that's just my opinion
i'll take the C8.
Lol the c8 is rwd
Tell me you don't know squat without saying it😅
I liked your comparison. Thanks
Guys who’s knows about the lc500 please can anyone tells me who makes the engine for lc500 ?? Thanks
I just bought a Flare Yellow lC500 convertable, Corvette is a GM garbage!
Awesome
one needs to appreciate the quality of the interior materials and the paint and design and the historic reliability and the normally aspirated engine... and when compared to a car that like a semi-custom aston martin, the $150,000 price is not outlandish at all. performance-wise it's not worth $150,000... but man does not live by bread alone..
🤣😂🤣😂🤣🥳
Good video!
My dream car as well ❤
Which one?
I choose the C8 for excitement on the road. I choose the LC 500 for cruising with style on the road.
The LC500 would be 100x better if the ECU was tuned
All the C8s I see are 100k plus
Great review. Sometimes when i'm driving in my outdated RX400H, I pretend i'm really driving a brand new 2023 LC500. But then I snap back to reality and start to cry 😅
Hey there nothing wrong with that!
I gotta go with the LC however respect the C8. So disappointed with what Toyota did with the new “Supra” and GM got it so right with the C8.
The C8 is 20k more and going up.2020 Supras are dropping in price as we speak or dropping back to base msrp since the 2021s are coming soon.
LC is a wonderful machine, I bought one (and sold my 911 turbo to get it). Much better car.
Great hangout and comparison video.
"WELL HOWDA FOLKS!" ROTFL!🤣😂😂😅😆😆
Anyone owns 2 cars ? I am deciding between the two.
I like the sound of C8 but not much of LC500.
LC500 exterior looks really outdated but I prefer the LC500 interior than C8.
So hard to pick between the 2.
I owned the C8 but not the LC. I think it will depend on your style honestly haha
If u want performance get a m3,m4, or m5 xdrive. Smoke a c8 and have better luxury and tech. If u want an amazing sounding engine get a LC500.
Good point
Kevin is the man! Did you do another co video where you drive his ride? Both amazing cars....different strokes......
My own humble Rating:
Performance: C8=9, LC=6
Styling: C8=7.5, LC=8.5
Interrior: C8=7.5, LC=7.5
Infotatment: C8=7.5, LC 6.5
After Market Customization: C8=8.5, LC=4
Quality reliable Reptuation: C8=7.5 (Chevy does have solid long running V8), LC=9
Drilling Driving Expericen: C8=8.5, LC=7
********C8 for the Win**********
YOUR ratings are way off!
LC 500 all the way!
Awesome comparison, great intro comparison, interview, and test drive. I love how you performed picture comparisons of the two. Your content, dialogue, and presentation has grown greatly! Kudos, I learned a lot about personal luxury vs a Sports car with personal luxury at a world class levels!
Valid points all the way round. Respect from the Triangle
If the shutdown lasted any longer the Lexus was the one I was gonna get awsome car
✌
