- I can´t belive how my first oil painting turned out...
Soo I finally decided to try oil painting for the first time, I've always been scared to use oil paints but I finally decided to face my artistic fear and give oil a try. On top of trying oil paint for the first time, this is also my first time trying to paint realistic portraits and landscapes oof.

Today(jun24) i did a doodle art
I watched line doodle art class -started with a less duration class😜-
(Not the gawx type its different its name was something paperbag)
I draw one in paper and colored using (randomly filling up spaces with pastel shades)
It is so good
That i never appreciated myself

And when i showed drawing to cousins their awkward smile 😑good

If you look at it 5 seconds more, you'll see he's right. There's still some awkwardness with the forms making the painting look more 2D than 3D. The rendering is really good tho

@@onetwo4228 I see. Well, according to me, oil painting is the most complex of them all and it’s easy to mess up. It’s rather surprising to see how one understands the colour placement so well on their first try, that too on A PORTRAIT. You people are legends.
@@onetwo4228 😂😂😂 SAME, I started oil painting with knife though and it was my first time using knives annnd thaaattt didn’t go so well
Well if you know the fundamentals (shape, value, basic color mixing) you're gonna have very little trouble in grasping a new medium.
The funny thing is, most people don't know their fundamentals too well. They only know the symbols that represent something (like a nose, and eye) and then they render those in a very particular way they've tried/seen before without actually knowing "why" it should look like "that".

@@jesustyronechrist2330 oil paints are very hard to use, they don’t dry for days and you can’t simply ameliorate them easily. They don’t mix the way you’d want them to, they don’t go on a canvas the way you’d want them to. Without proper practice, you can not just make oil paintings irrespective of how finely you’re thorough with the fundamentals. Gawx has a purely gifted talent and he practices it beautifully. (Also, knives, if you don’t know how to hold them then you can’t use them 😂)
