Couldn’t believe my luck - took a couple of to the price-check at walmart - rang up at $10! So I picked up all available: pepsi, black, green and blue. $40 total!
I received my Duro Pepsi a couple of weeks ago. Early November 2023. Time Bombardier, you did not get a fake watch. All of the bezels are tight on these watches. I could barely move mine. It was painful moving it. I knew when I ordered the watch the bezel would be too stiff to use. I fixed mine the easy way and anyone can do it. I put some light oil in a bottle cap. Soaked the end of a paper wire garbage tie in the oil. I drew the oil-soaked paper tie edge of the tie around the watch in a circular motion making sure to get oil between the bazel and the body of the watch. After that is done rotate the bezel in 12-hour increments until it loosens up sufficiently. Clean the watch off and you are done. By the way, this fix can be used on almost any bezel that is stiff in turning.

Just bought the exact watch for 75 dollars from the Casio company. Now I find out that Walmart is selling it for 25 dollars less. Not happy. Mine does have the Marlin. There is also a version that is solar for around 100 dollars which I prefer, however the bezel is fixed and does not rotate. I guess you can't have everything. Also, on the solar version, the water depth is less.
I just picked up my second Duro-Marlin, a 106G-1, in April, 2024...for $50 USD. PS. It was in the Box, and the bezel rotates. I have a feeling that the Duro's that come in a bag, were returned by customers, for some reason, and resold as new.
This might help some of you … I bought the ‘Batman’ 🦇version of the Duro in Sept 2023 from Amazon UK (item shipped from Amazon US) for £54.91 total, the item arrived in the Casio blue box - the watch has the Marlin logo & the bezel rotates perfectly & overall it seems a genuine watch, hope that helps.
I was caught in the Marlin price wars, saw the Amazon US offer, but was undecided whether to pull the trigger or not. Nice job with this video, a big thank you to you and all guys who commented, you helped me sort it out I live in Italy - a month ago I bought a MDV-106 Blue Duro from a Spanish eBay seller at a price a bit high but acceptable. That was my first Marlin Duro, and I loved that watch at first sight, it arrived still set to Japan time :). The quartz mechanism hits the indices precisely, it loses 3 seconds in about 20 days, the dial is gorgeous, the way it fits my small wrist incredible. And the fish decoration gives it a unique personality, especially the large one engraved on the back. So I decided to set up a two piece collection adding the black Marlin Duro. This time I could not find acceptable prices for the MDV-106-1A in Europe. I found the Amazon US offer, asking 49.5$ for the watch and 18$ for shipping and custom fees, totaling less than the amount I paid for the blue one and a bit less than the price of the MDV-107 on Amazon.it. Yet I was in doubt. It looked too good to be true. Would I get a bottom of the barrel piece or a good one? I saw this video, heard your doubts and experience with the bezel and read all the comments. That gave me confidence, in 5 days my black Marlin Duro has arrived from the US. I got a standard Casio box in the jiffy bag, one flap ripped, but keeping its contents inside. The watch was ticking inside, with the dial sticker on, the usual Casio plastic wrapping, set on a black stand with the instructions leaflet. It hits precisely the indices like his blue brother. The bezel rotates, the crown is a screw crown, the engraving looks fine. I was never happier to subscribe a RUclips channel.

The bezels on the authentic Duro do rotate. Some are just stiff or people try to rotate them without removing the glass film. Then return them thinking they received a fake or a dud. The reason yours came without the box is because it was returned by someone else and then resold. This happens sometimes for products sold directly by Amazon in U.S. People have done videos on TikTok about how to spot this with the shipping labels and packaging for clothing and various items. At Wal-Mart they were on clearance for $11 as they were removing their watch and jewelry departments to make way for other items. There they came with half the box on the plastic watch stand as that's how they are displayed open in the display cabinets. Sorry I know you said to keep the comments clean but that my friend is a Dirty watch.😂
i don't know, i have had my black one for 3 years now and not a scratch on the crystal or bezel, the first thing i did was replace the strap with a black and grey nato, had to james bond it, then i went and got a blue bezel and dial version and put a red white and blue nato on it both look great both run exactly the same, while the bezel on the black one is easy to turn the bezel on the blue one is kinda stiff. i still like both but wear the black more often. i want to buy another one but i won't be doing that until casio offers a red or orange dial and bezel

The new MDV-106 you have there is genuine. When I got my MDV-106 as long as I had the plastic on it, no matter how hard I tried, I could not turn the bezel. Once I removed the plastic it rotated just fine. I am thinking that there might be times that something just gets a little stuck under the bezel like a tiny piece of plastic when people remove it making it so the bezel doesn't turn. That plastic is sticky enough to cause enough friction that it would be impossible to turn until like you did with a slight push in around the edge of the bezel.

My Casio Duro Marlin (106G with the fish and gold rimmed bezel) is my most accurate wristwatch. Trusty Seiko Solar 100M is a close second, and my Hamilton Khaki King II, while not bad for an automatic (+/- 3 sec/day depending). I see Amazon has my model at $49.92 currently (07/23/2024). Unbeatable beater at that price. It's a viable dive watch (at least for snorkeling) with 200M, screw down crown, ratcheting bezel, great visibility and teriffic accuracy.

Yep, got a fully Marlin’d Batman after noticing on Amazon US a month or so ago for almost £80 I think. I thought it would arrive either non Marlin’d, or maybe someone did a dial swap and there was no Marlin on the case back, but it’s fine and had a box and seems 100% legit.

I read that shipping the watch without a box or papers and declaring it as a gift on the customs form to keep the value low is how the seller gets around the buyer not having to pay import fees.
Bought a standard black Duro from Amazon ($47.00) which I received on February 15th. Has the Marlin. My understanding is the Marlin is still available in the US (where I live) and not in Europe. Don't know if that's the actual case or not.
the original duro mdv106 was only officially sold in the north america (and maybe asia, i dont know for sure).. it was never officially sold in europe or australia.. in europe they sell the mtd1053 that is the equivalent spec-wise to the duro but has no marlin logo or duro branding and a different design.. the duros sold in europe were third party unofficial imports from north america (us).. when it launched in australia and europe they came up with the mdv107 (without the marlin).. some copyright issues for the marlin were pointed out as the reason for the lack of the marlin logo, something related to the expiry of the ageament they had (this could have been an assumption).. a year later in north america (US and mexico for sure) casio released new color variants of the duro mdv106 with the duro branding and marlin logo.. this pepsi you got is one of the models, there's also a blue batman and a green kermit color.. i don't think they sell the mdv107 in north america but i'm not sure.. i assume that the marlin logo was somehow trademarked or the deal with the designer was for north america only and they can only use it there.. when the mdv107 was launched everyone assumed it will be a global replacement but as it turns out this was a misunderstanding and they can still use the fish for the north american market.. this is all an assumption but it makes sense.. it could also be that they reached another deal with the designer to keep the marlin logo going or something only after they tried the waters with the non marlin one.. only casio knows..
I recently bought a second, completely stock Marlin and Amazon had it available like any old Casio. As you know, they ditched the marlin logo which is one of the key aspects of the aesthetic. Not sure how much new-old-stock is left. I’m gonna order the Pepsi bezel soon.
@@thetimebombardier Not really comfortable enough with my skills to do anything serious. I can do a strap or bracelet change and remove/replace links, but that’s about as far as it goes. After seeing a few videos on adding a sapphire crystal and solid link bracelet to the Duro I might try that.

no box or manual keeps use to uk shipping costs down. I seen watches on a few US sites supplying to uk stating an increase in shipping cost if box and manual required .
Just received my second Duro .. all blue. A few things set off immediate alarm bells. The engraving on the case back is very different, almost as if it was not engraved at the same pressure. It’s a complete design but definitely very faint vs my original green duro. Both watches weighed in at 92g but the bluey is very uncomfortable to wear unlike the green duro which is hardly noticeable. I can’t figure that one out yet overall I’m not happy at all with this bluey. I’m seriously thinking of returning it.
I bought a Marlin last year from America and there were options to have a box , and pay more or just have it shipped like yours. I'm not bothered about a box for a £50 ish pound watch so opted for the bag like yours. I can't imagine people making fake Marlins - given the price of them, and if it is - it looks as good as the real one anyway lol. I think you just got a bit of a dud bezel, which for the money, and distance it's travelled makes sense I guess, although isn't acceptable. Well done on the free watch! Although it doesn't appear to be ticking!

Hi. I ordered this exact watch from Amazon UK on 16 January for £82 shipped from Amazon US. The Pepsi bezel was £20 more than the black or the blue. Mine came in the normal box etc. but I have had other cheaper Casios in just a bubble bag! The bezel was a bit stiff at first but has loosened up now. I think your watch is genuine but I do wonder if you have received a customer return.....🤔 Still nice to get a freebie!
I have six of these n some bezels are pretty tough to turn some fine..bit of oil around the bezel tends to release em or like uve done lift the bezel slightly with a tool...there spring clip is pretty flimsy not a complete circle like u get on seikos so bit of nudging oiling shud do the trick !!!

@@thetimebombardier I changed the strap on 106 (black). 107 (Kermit) has a bracelet (And I got 107 for $50 on Sale) and I may eventually change it to a NATO strap.
I had the same issue with bezel and it turned after I lightly tried to move it. It worked normally thereafter. Seemed like forcing it made it mad. Weird.

Never thought of trying Amazon’s US site to get the blue one (it’s not available on their UK site) so I’ll keep an eye on the prices and give it a go. Got mine today. Sadly, the bezel doesn't rotate. Im not brave enough to use the method that you mentioned in your video for fear of damaging the bezel and case. Could you do a tutorial on how to loosen the bezel ? Awesome video anyway 👍

Hi, Ive just got the bezel rotate ! It was actually the plastic sticker that was on the watch crystal. I could swear that the sticker wasn't hindering the bezel. The plastic only covers the mineral and not the case. Thanks for the heads up 🙏 You've just earn yourself a subscriber. 👍👍👍
by the way, I have had a few of these over the years, possibly 4 or 5 and they do come with fixed/tight bezels occasionally. Nothing really unexpected for me :)
@@thetimebombardier I do love the Duro, but that date cut out is too small for my eyesight to read now, so useless for me. Wish they would produce one with a sapphire face, since the sapphire face costs about £6.00 to buy in bulk and I am sure Casio could get them cheaper. Plus I would love a fish eye lens over the date so I can read it lol. I did want a Green and Blue, but since I can no longer read the Date I think my next watch will be a DEEPBLUE OR ORIENT.

That looks too good to be fake, also the bezel should have a small luminous semi globe on it if its genuine. Casio now have a smaller version of the watch without the fish (MVD-10C-1A2VEF) with a Nato strap instead of rubber on their European website, but again very priced up, its like these are getting so popular the price is starting to go through the roof
Since you were able to fix the dial by prying up on it gently, it seems probable that it was squished under some heavy packages, the envelope enveloping it, providing little protection.
Hah... yeah, I'm kinda excited/nervous to see what I'll get. I ordered from Amazon US, $50... the pic on the website shows the marlin but... yeah, don't know if it'll be 106 or 107. The thing about Amazon is, sometimes they throw products from different suppliers all in the same bin... they have just one "Casio MDV106" box and, if somehow they get taken for, they'll pass it on to a customer none the wiser. As someone who can't afford "mistakes" that's the reason I buy watches on Amazon... pretty easy return/refund policy. But there's always a downside. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Cheers.

i have all six colourways and have noticed my batman ones bezel is super stiff ill have try easing up the bezel a lil maybe theyre presing them on too much ....maybe ?
They probably are authentic but being sold by amazon means nothing. Amazon is well known for putting real products along with fakes provided by third party sellers in the same "bin" location for picking so regardless of who sells it, you may get a real or a fake.

16 euro Skmei mudmaster copy totally happy with it lmao. Btw 5:18 the axel of the crown from the left watch is thicker also the white plastic holder has a slanted cut to it near the inside of the crown v shaped whille the other is just a square cut and the finish is more ruff on the f111 totally fishy lmao

Yes I did,box and paper work all in order,so pleased with it,what a good looking watch and it was for less than £50.The only thing I can think of is that yours was a return,I was looking to get a new m5600u from Amazon and I found one £20 cheaper than was a return with damaged box, didn't go for that,I like my boxers so went for the more pricier option.

5:09 You are so close; why not lift the white plastic cover and compare the movements? They original is designed in Japan, but made in China, correct? Perhaps China is selling some direct, without sending them to Casio for the paper box.

I replaced the strap with a Vintage "Bond" NATO band, after cutting off the extra strap piece. (This way, the buckle and hold downs are at the bottom, and not visible) I love the watch. The bezel on my watch turns easy and has no slop....The NATO strap makes the watch more comfortable.
Apparently they are being faked. 3 signs are 1 The strap is a lot stiffer than the Casio strap. 2 The back is Laser printed not engraved. 3 The crown is not a screw crown.
I got the same pepsi ( I have an unboxing video on my horology channel ) it came with box and papers, and after the video, I threw the box and papers into the trash.
In the USA everything is apparently much cheaper but people in America still complain of high prices... Go figure!!! Here the Duro is around € 60 without marlin and €175 with marlin!!!!! For that price I get a citizen diver or better the Seiko SRPE58K1.

Wow I can’t find a review about that anymore it was very well spoken about but the watch came out in 2011 and was probably shortly after that that reviews made note of that feature and doesn’t seem that outlandish because if the check is done in the casing of the watch . Oh well it is a good piece anyway
@@thetimebombardier oh yea I use mine not so much since I got a nice computer but analog won’t lie to me LoL but toe ISO to 200m I put a silicone bracelet with fold over clasp and extension the rubber band sucks but for the price I would buy it with no strap but with its depth guarantee and solid features that are on every other diver why would you want to risk loosing a 200-10000 dollar watch to the ocean but they took the marlin off so be careful if you get one because there is a Casio dive style watch that looks similar but only rates at 50 meters and I would go with this over INVICTA pro divers because they arnt certified and most of them you can’t even wash dishes in them the only one I would buy is the submariner homage but still don’t trust it 100 or so feet under water. I also take the duro in to get the battery changed so the seals can be checked and pressure tested, yea it is almost as much as the watch but hey it’s my watch and will do as I please but be confident in the purchase I have done experiments offshore with a fishing rod and it did fine at 200 feet sure a far cry from 200 meters but that is about the deepest I will ever dive but it was fun because the captain wouldn’t even drop his submariner down I don’t blame him but on that day my 50 dollar diver outperformed the venerable submariner and then we caught some fish take it easy. Ohh don’t dive in a Vostok well the original Vostok because well com-blok rubber I would have it checked first but Vostok are making western style watches now high quality but they lose some asthetic when all the dial is in English and are just modern watches built on the ak47 of watch movements they are nice but I prefer the original not the cartoon brass cased ones but the real ones not made for tourists. Why do people call the Duro "marlin"? That's obviously not a Marlin. It's a sailfish. The Marlin's dorsal fin peaks just above its head and tapers down drastically from there. The sailfish is what's portrayed on the front and back of the Duro. Don't take my word for it, just search "marlin vs sailfish" and find out for yourself.

I got the Batman with the marlin in US for $40 USD! (sold by Amazon, shipped by Amazon) Have to wait about 4 weeks for shipping, though. Otherwise, I could have gotten it within a few business days for about $20-$35 more. I can wait. :)
These are the types of affordable watches that ppl on a budget should buy, and not some cheap ass Chinese garbage that looks like a Casio clone. I say this to all skmei owners, who think Casio watches are overpriced and overrated.

This might help some of you … I bought the ‘Batman’ 🦇version of the Duro in Sept 2023 from Amazon UK (item shipped from Amazon US) for £54.91 total, the item arrived in the Casio blue box - the watch has the Marlin logo & the bezel rotates perfectly & overall it seems a genuine watch, hope that helps.

I live in Italy - a month ago I bought a MDV-106 Blue Duro from a Spanish eBay seller at a price a bit high but acceptable.
That was my first Marlin Duro, and I loved that watch at first sight, it arrived still set to Japan time :). The quartz mechanism hits the indices precisely, it loses 3 seconds in about 20 days, the dial is gorgeous, the way it fits my small wrist incredible. And the fish decoration gives it a unique personality, especially the large one engraved on the back.
So I decided to set up a two piece collection adding the black Marlin Duro.
This time I could not find acceptable prices for the MDV-106-1A in Europe.
I found the Amazon US offer, asking 49.5$ for the watch and 18$ for shipping and custom fees, totaling less than the amount I paid for the blue one and a bit less than the price of the MDV-107 on Amazon.it.
Yet I was in doubt. It looked too good to be true. Would I get a bottom of the barrel piece or a good one?
I saw this video, heard your doubts and experience with the bezel and read all the comments.
That gave me confidence, in 5 days my black Marlin Duro has arrived from the US.
I got a standard Casio box in the jiffy bag, one flap ripped, but keeping its contents inside.
The watch was ticking inside, with the dial sticker on, the usual Casio plastic wrapping, set on a black stand with the instructions leaflet.
It hits precisely the indices like his blue brother. The bezel rotates, the crown is a screw crown, the engraving looks fine.
I was never happier to subscribe a RUclips channel.

The bezels on the authentic Duro do rotate. Some are just stiff or people try to rotate them without removing the glass film. Then return them thinking they received a fake or a dud.
The reason yours came without the box is because it was returned by someone else and then resold. This happens sometimes for products sold directly by Amazon in U.S.
People have done videos on TikTok about how to spot this with the shipping labels and packaging for clothing and various items.
At Wal-Mart they were on clearance for $11 as they were removing their watch and jewelry departments to make way for other items. There they came with half the box on the plastic watch stand as that's how they are displayed open in the display cabinets.

i don't know, i have had my black one for 3 years now and not a scratch on the crystal or bezel, the first thing i did was replace the strap with a black and grey nato, had to james bond it, then i went and got a blue bezel and dial version and put a red white and blue nato on it both look great both run exactly the same, while the bezel on the black one is easy to turn the bezel on the blue one is kinda stiff. i still like both but wear the black more often. i want to buy another one but i won't be doing that until casio offers a red or orange dial and bezel

The new MDV-106 you have there is genuine. When I got my MDV-106 as long as I had the plastic on it, no matter how hard I tried, I could not turn the bezel. Once I removed the plastic it rotated just fine. I am thinking that there might be times that something just gets a little stuck under the bezel like a tiny piece of plastic when people remove it making it so the bezel doesn't turn. That plastic is sticky enough to cause enough friction that it would be impossible to turn until like you did with a slight push in around the edge of the bezel.

My Casio Duro Marlin (106G with the fish and gold rimmed bezel) is my most accurate wristwatch. Trusty Seiko Solar 100M is a close second, and my Hamilton Khaki King II, while not bad for an automatic (+/- 3 sec/day depending). I see Amazon has my model at $49.92 currently (07/23/2024). Unbeatable beater at that price. It's a viable dive watch (at least for snorkeling) with 200M, screw down crown, ratcheting bezel, great visibility and teriffic accuracy.

Yep, got a fully Marlin’d Batman after noticing on Amazon US a month or so ago for almost £80 I think.
I thought it would arrive either non Marlin’d, or maybe someone did a dial swap and there was no Marlin on the case back, but it’s fine and had a box and seems 100% legit.

I read that shipping the watch without a box or papers and declaring it as a gift on the customs form to keep the value low is how the seller gets around the buyer not having to pay import fees.

Bought a standard black Duro from Amazon ($47.00) which I received on February 15th. Has the Marlin. My understanding is the Marlin is still available in the US (where I live) and not in Europe. Don't know if that's the actual case or not.

the original duro mdv106 was only officially sold in the north america (and maybe asia, i dont know for sure).. it was never officially sold in europe or australia.. in europe they sell the mtd1053 that is the equivalent spec-wise to the duro but has no marlin logo or duro branding and a different design.. the duros sold in europe were third party unofficial imports from north america (us)..
when it launched in australia and europe they came up with the mdv107 (without the marlin).. some copyright issues for the marlin were pointed out as the reason for the lack of the marlin logo, something related to the expiry of the ageament they had (this could have been an assumption)..
a year later in north america (US and mexico for sure) casio released new color variants of the duro mdv106 with the duro branding and marlin logo.. this pepsi you got is one of the models, there's also a blue batman and a green kermit color.. i don't think they sell the mdv107 in north america but i'm not sure..
i assume that the marlin logo was somehow trademarked or the deal with the designer was for north america only and they can only use it there.. when the mdv107 was launched everyone assumed it will be a global replacement but as it turns out this was a misunderstanding and they can still use the fish for the north american market..
this is all an assumption but it makes sense.. it could also be that they reached another deal with the designer to keep the marlin logo going or something only after they tried the waters with the non marlin one.. only casio knows..

I recently bought a second, completely stock Marlin and Amazon had it available like any old Casio. As you know, they ditched the marlin logo which is one of the key aspects of the aesthetic. Not sure how much new-old-stock is left. I’m gonna order the Pepsi bezel soon.

@@thetimebombardier Not really comfortable enough with my skills to do anything serious. I can do a strap or bracelet change and remove/replace links, but that’s about as far as it goes. After seeing a few videos on adding a sapphire crystal and solid link bracelet to the Duro I might try that.

Just received my second Duro .. all blue. A few things set off immediate alarm bells. The engraving on the case back is very different, almost as if it was not engraved at the same pressure. It’s a complete design but definitely very faint vs my original green duro. Both watches weighed in at 92g but the bluey is very uncomfortable to wear unlike the green duro which is hardly noticeable. I can’t figure that one out yet overall I’m not happy at all with this bluey. I’m seriously thinking of returning it.

I bought a Marlin last year from America and there were options to have a box , and pay more or just have it shipped like yours. I'm not bothered about a box for a £50 ish pound watch so opted for the bag like yours. I can't imagine people making fake Marlins - given the price of them, and if it is - it looks as good as the real one anyway lol. I think you just got a bit of a dud bezel, which for the money, and distance it's travelled makes sense I guess, although isn't acceptable. Well done on the free watch! Although it doesn't appear to be ticking!

Got mine last October. Thought it was fixed. Brawn over brain and it turned. Put a metal bracelet on it and it is now one of my faves to wear.

Hi. I ordered this exact watch from Amazon UK on 16 January for £82 shipped from Amazon US. The Pepsi bezel was £20 more than the black or the blue. Mine came in the normal box etc. but I have had other cheaper Casios in just a bubble bag! The bezel was a bit stiff at first but has loosened up now. I think your watch is genuine but I do wonder if you have received a customer return.....🤔 Still nice to get a freebie!

I have six of these n some bezels are pretty tough to turn some fine..bit of oil around the bezel tends to release em or like uve done lift the bezel slightly with a tool...there spring clip is pretty flimsy not a complete circle like u get on seikos so bit of nudging oiling shud do the trick !!!

107 (Kermit) has a bracelet (And I got 107 for $50 on Sale) and I may eventually change it to a NATO strap.
I had the same issue with bezel and it turned after I lightly tried to move it. It worked normally thereafter. Seemed like forcing it made it mad. Weird.

I’ve been after a blue one since falling in love with my black dial one which arrived a couple of weeks ago. This one came from Amazon UK but was shipped from the US. Never thought of trying Amazon’s US site to get the blue one (it’s not available on their UK site) so I’ll keep an eye on the prices and give it a go. Bit of a rant video but can fully understand why 😂

Got mine today. Sadly, the bezel doesn't rotate. Im not brave enough to use the method that you mentioned in your video for fear of damaging the bezel and case. Could you do a tutorial on how to loosen the bezel ? Awesome video anyway 👍

Hi, Ive just got the bezel rotate ! It was actually the plastic sticker that was on the watch crystal. I could swear that the sticker wasn't hindering the bezel. The plastic only covers the mineral and not the case. Thanks for the heads up 🙏 You've just earn yourself a subscriber. 👍👍👍

@@thetimebombardier I do love the Duro, but that date cut out is too small for my eyesight to read now, so useless for me. Wish they would produce one with a sapphire face, since the sapphire face costs about £6.00 to buy in bulk and I am sure Casio could get them cheaper. Plus I would love a fish eye lens over the date so I can read it lol. I did want a Green and Blue, but since I can no longer read the Date I think my next watch will be a DEEPBLUE OR ORIENT.

That looks too good to be fake, also the bezel should have a small luminous semi globe on it if its genuine. Casio now have a smaller version of the watch without the fish (MVD-10C-1A2VEF) with a Nato strap instead of rubber on their European website, but again very priced up, its like these are getting so popular the price is starting to go through the roof

Since you were able to fix the dial by prying up on it gently, it seems probable that it was squished under some heavy packages, the envelope enveloping it, providing little protection.

Hah... yeah, I'm kinda excited/nervous to see what I'll get. I ordered from Amazon US, $50... the pic on the website shows the marlin but... yeah, don't know if it'll be 106 or 107. The thing about Amazon is, sometimes they throw products from different suppliers all in the same bin... they have just one "Casio MDV106" box and, if somehow they get taken for, they'll pass it on to a customer none the wiser. As someone who can't afford "mistakes" that's the reason I buy watches on Amazon... pretty easy return/refund policy. But there's always a downside. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Cheers.

They probably are authentic but being sold by amazon means nothing. Amazon is well known for putting real products along with fakes provided by third party sellers in the same "bin" location for picking so regardless of who sells it, you may get a real or a fake.

Btw 5:18 the axel of the crown from the left watch is thicker also the white plastic holder has a slanted cut to it near the inside of the crown v shaped whille the other is just a square cut and the finish is more ruff on the f111 totally fishy lmao

There have been reports the the Marlin was going away. Jody has been talking about it for about 2 years. Seems senseless to remove it.

Yes I did,box and paper work all in order,so pleased with it,what a good looking watch and it was for less than £50.The only thing I can think of is that yours was a return,I was looking to get a new m5600u from Amazon and I found one £20 cheaper than was a return with damaged box, didn't go for that,I like my boxers so went for the more pricier option.

I replaced the strap with a Vintage "Bond" NATO band, after cutting off the extra strap piece. (This way, the buckle and hold downs are at the bottom, and not visible)
I love the watch. The bezel on my watch turns easy and has no slop....The NATO strap makes the watch more comfortable.

Apparently they are being faked. 3 signs are
1 The strap is a lot stiffer than the Casio strap.
2 The back is Laser printed not engraved.
3 The crown is not a screw crown.

Here the Duro is around € 60 without marlin and €175 with marlin!!!!! For that price I get a citizen diver or better the Seiko SRPE58K1.

They only put the marlin on iso certified dive watches and the Douro isn’t the only one

@@thetimebombardier yes they are check it out it is what makes them punch way over their weight class I am positive it’s surprising that you don’t know that it is literally their selling point if it has a marlin it is iso certified making it a real dive watch I don’t even change the battery in it I have it done and tested
Wow I can’t find a review about that anymore it was very well spoken about but the watch came out in 2011 and was probably shortly after that that reviews made note of that feature and doesn’t seem that outlandish because if the check is done in the casing of the watch . Oh well it is a good piece anyway

@@thetimebombardier oh yea I use mine not so much since I got a nice computer but analog won’t lie to me LoL but toe ISO to 200m I put a silicone bracelet with fold over clasp and extension the rubber band sucks but for the price I would buy it with no strap but with its depth guarantee and solid features that are on every other diver why would you want to risk loosing a 200-10000 dollar watch to the ocean but they took the marlin off so be careful if you get one because there is a Casio dive style watch that looks similar but only rates at 50 meters and I would go with this over INVICTA pro divers because they arnt certified and most of them you can’t even wash dishes in them the only one I would buy is the submariner homage but still don’t trust it 100 or so feet under water. I also take the duro in to get the battery changed so the seals can be checked and pressure tested, yea it is almost as much as the watch but hey it’s my watch and will do as I please but be confident in the purchase I have done experiments offshore with a fishing rod and it did fine at 200 feet sure a far cry from 200 meters but that is about the deepest I will ever dive but it was fun because the captain wouldn’t even drop his submariner down I don’t blame him but on that day my 50 dollar diver outperformed the venerable submariner and then we caught some fish take it easy. Ohh don’t dive in a Vostok well the original Vostok because well com-blok rubber I would have it checked first but Vostok are making western style watches now high quality but they lose some asthetic when all the dial is in English and are just modern watches built on the ak47 of watch movements they are nice but I prefer the original not the cartoon brass cased ones but the real ones not made for tourists. Why do people call the Duro "marlin"? That's obviously not a Marlin. It's a sailfish. The Marlin's dorsal fin peaks just above its head and tapers down drastically from there. The sailfish is what's portrayed on the front and back of the Duro. Don't take my word for it, just search "marlin vs sailfish" and find out for yourself.

@@thetimebombardier I'm in Canada. I can't seem to find any retailers that carry Casio (at all - except G-shocks) not even Walmart. The only E-tailer I can find is amazon but they only have the black version.
