    To be honest, I've had my gen 2 dewalt nailer for around 8 years now, and other than changing the spring one time and the nailer tip, I've never had any issues! And I'm a roofer in the UK working in the wet on a daily basis, pumping thousands of nails a week through it with hardly any issues at all. I've had several pasloads in the past and had nothing but trouble with them.

    Out of all of the issues with this gun, I would have been so happy if they had fixed the rafter/belt hook on this thing.

      They now have a steel rafter hook and a belt clip. Definate improvement.

    I’ve been a carpenter for a long time, since 1991. I only used Paslode compressor nailers. But, being out of that business since 09, and only occasionally doing side jobs here and there and getting older, having another option as far as carrying a compressor, hoses, nails and framing gun around, it’s nice to bypass all that stuff and just have one component. I’ve only recently gotten into the cordless aspect of framing and trim guns, but they make the world of difference for me not having to pull out everything needed for a traditional framing or trim nailer. So far, they’ve worked to my expectations and I look forward to many years of use with them. In short, the new line of trim and framing nailers from DEWALT, are game changers.

    It doesn’t run like the gen 1. The wording is confusing but it fires fast and rapid without that rev up. The Vegan Cookie Company demoed it at DeWalt’s world of concrete and event. It’s top notch

    The flywheel is devisive, but it allows for a lighter tool. The old model dewalt was already the lightest on the market and the new model is even lighter. The difference is only 1-2 lbs, but that is quite noticable over a day. If the power is there and it doesn't jam I am happy to deal with the sound of the flywheel to save my shoulders a bit. Oh, and also the flywheel needs less maintenance as you dont have to refill the sealed nitrogen tank every few years as seems to be the case with most other brands.

    People who criticize dewalts flywheel mechanism often doesn't know that pneumatic guns also need refill. With Milwaukee you even need nitrogen air. With metabo hpt you can buy adapters and do it yourself with compressor air. But it's not free. I've refilled my metabo hpt framer 3-4 times in 1,5 years.
    I think dewalts new nailers are gonna be great!

      I’ve had me Metabo for 4 years and haven’t had to refill it yet.

    their concrete nailer even on flywheel setup, extremely reliable. I shot hundreds of them, it has consistent power, it has annoying sounds, it works. This is the item red team don't have as even Hilti concrete nailer using similar tech.

    $460 is for the kit, currently $360 bare tool on Acme. Sorry Dewalt, should have ditched the flywheel.

      I'd prefer the flywheel over the other technology everybody else uses because the dewalt is the lightest and slimmest out of all of them.

    Yea im not sure why rafter hook is kicked on a angle, i switched out for the gen one rafter hook and put on 21°. Their both actually same exact model, the 21° magazine will fit the 30° gun housing, it just needs the offset piece under the firing nose

    I got the Paslode right now and honestly all i care about is reliability, ergonomics and as long as it can match power, but honestly ergonomics is a big one, that’s why i cant use hikoki or Milwaukee, apart from weight they arent easy to work with like the paslode. See how this dewalt goes, last one is not even in the same league as paslode. Hoping for the best.

    I don’t understand why they kept the flywheel style when every other nailer is using the style metabo came out with years ago

      It’s not like the gen 1 it fires instantly like all the other brands now. That wording is confusing. The Vegan Cookie Company demoed it at the DeWalt world of concrete event

    Say what you want but ill stick with ryobi literally half the price and there nailers are great especially the brushless i can get the 21 degree ryobi (im in canada) for 238 the DeWalt if trues is about 500

    My gen one 30° i could fire 60 nails a minute. Gen 2 21° almost just as good! Set in bump mode hold trigger and press nose and it'll sink. Not sure whats awful compared to the Milwaukee tank,

    Screw the flywheel, its as outdated as the catapult. Dumped my three old pieces of sh!t and went with Milwaukee, best decision EVER.

    "I don't even know what battery they're using..." It's in the picture (and listed in the press release).

    Dewalt nail guns are junk, I had the second generation 16 gauge finish gun for 5 years it was junk, i now have the Milwaukee second generation it’s a much better gun .

  • @HBSuccess
    @HBSuccess Месяц назад +1

    I dunno... I'm on the DeWalt battery platform (not by choice) and most of their tools are OK, a few are really good... but their nailers... TERRIBLE. They should have scrapped the whole thing and started over, but these look like a minor evolution on the old guns. If I'm being totally honest, I think for pros Milwaukee blows most of the DeWalt tools out of the water.

    • @MrCubflyer
      @MrCubflyer Месяц назад +2

      If you wait for the third generation yes but the first generation milwaukee stuff is not great.They are just on the third Generation on on most of thier tools so they are pretty good. The dewalt belt sander er r is better the Dewalt 18 volt planner is far better the small cutoff wheel no comparison Dewalt much better I have both of these tools so I'm speaking from experience. But Milwaukee comes out with tools much more rapidly than Dewalt one reason is they put a lot more research in the tools they make instead of selling three generations before a good one comes out.
