    Thanks Tom for interview. I just turned 92 this past October and wonder how and why I made it this far. Agree with some info; question some remarks. I swim 1/2 mile most days; lots of tennis in past, balanced diet, have taken vitamins for years and still do, had good job/s all my life till retirement at age 67, family and friends are important, trying to live by my faith all helped me get here, and credit to those great docs/surgeons along the way when needed certainly helped. Positive attitude. Just a few comments to all you young folks out there.

    My grandfather was a farmer and almost made it to his 100th Bday. He was never sick, and always looked young for his age. He only ate dairy and meat, and had a beer with dinner every night. He always told us kids, “The key to living a long healthy life, is to move everyday and surround yourself with people you love.”

      Below you're supposed objective research attitude there lies an individual who is mightily striving to manipulate the results to suit his own appetites and preconceptions.
      Your lack of trustful response to the facts being given you by your guest is a clear indication that you would prefer things be otherwise, because below your ostensibly mature persona their lies and adolescent who really would rather do what he would rather do, facts be damned.
      The fact is, you need to read the China study by t Colin Campbell, and you need to research the empirical results of Dean ornish and Carl esselstyn in order to confirm the realities which have already been presented to you but to which you seem to be needlessly resistant.
      Don't worry so much about it! Just buy some meat and try to eat it raw as is without any of the manipulation and processing which makes it into something you think is so delicious. The meat is virtually tasteless, wet and slimy for the most part, and it is not until chefs and other skilled preparers minister their magic to it in the form of sauces and salts and burnings and charrings and scorching that this meat becomes what you think it is, all of which is an illusion.
      so smile when a skilled researcher sits in front of you and gives you the facts, and open your soul up and accept the facts until or unless you know better. Don't challenge the facts until you yourself have done your own homework, because, quite frankly, in doing so you appear to be nothing short of an idiot.

    My mom died 97 years old from COVID 19. She was healthy, took care of herself everyday, ate in moderation, danced and exercised 3 days weekly, traveled and walked frequently. Most of her life she walked a mile every day until she was in her late 80’s. Then started walking 1/2 mile. One thing she drank a massive amount of water everyday. I wanna be her when I grow up.

      What a bad luck to lose such a person from Covid 19. I got more angry with the virus when hearing this type sad stories.😔😔😔

    My great grandmother lived during the depression. She passed away at 107. I was often reminded how often she had to go hungry. I can't help but to think of a parallel in her longevity. I hear so often that fasting can help you live longer and I feel that she is proof. She also had a glass of red wine or a can of beer with every dinner.

      often a good diet will help the emotional side. I have terrible eating habits but if I can stop sugar, everything including emotions usually gets better.

    I'm 40 years old and just started running every day.. Never ran before in my life as I worked on my feet all day but now work from home. So I started running. Works awesome and now it's my favorite thing to do . Sometimes 17 miles a day but sometimes I just walk . It's all on how I feel. If I'm tired then ill sleep all day . No guilt just go with my feelings. And work on loving people and myself more as well :) 😃

      17 miles in a day is too far to run you will wear out your joints. At 58 I hike hills walk about 3 miles and do 2 high-intensity sprints only once or twice a week. If you're in it for the long run like I assume you are you don't want to wear out your joints. I can do 15 pull ups 50 pushups bench 180, 8 times
      Look and feel much younger than my chronological age.
      I do take nmn, metformin 5 days a week 500mg, K2 vitamin D in a few of the other supplements mentioned.
      You may want to consider sauna as well supposed to be very good for your vascular health

    Another fabulous guest who can help us to improve our life. I am 79 and cannot invest in all these interventions and tests, but I am doing what I can, blue zone diet, exercise, sleep, learning, new projects, and some supplements like resveratrol and NAD. I am not on any medications . Don't think old no matter what your chronological age.

      i am 68 and take care of my health also. I am not on any medications either. If you want to feel good when you are older you have to take care of your health. I did totally agree with him on the spiritual work. It has made my life pretty wonderful. I had to delete quite a few limitig beliefs! One of them was that I had to look like I was 40 to enjoy my life.

      @@cosmichealth3907 please explain your reasoning? The very attachment is what creates a block in manifesting the reality we so dream. Furthermore, does the “eternal life” actually have nothing to do with the physical body? Nothing physical lasts forever it’s against it’s very nature. So then, perhaps it’s our perspective on the natural aging process that needs to change. After all, it is a multi billion (trillion?) dollar business.
      Food for thought.
      I’m all for prolonging health, though attachment to youth is a self fulfilling prophecy that will inevitably lead to suffering.
      It’s much more fun to live in the present from my own humble experience.

What I said.regarding your second comment again I appreciate the views...we as humans are trying to deceive ourselves with the word antiaging which we know doesn't exist...in our subconscious we are trying to fix something not repairable and in doing so we assume even if we are not able to antiage someone we are definitely minting tons of money...god's will is to let human age and evolve but we are stuck in the BS of antiaging..being a doctor myself I recommend good eating habits and bit of diatary supplements ,not more than that.not sell anything for the so called bs.
      We are here to age ,suffer and die..rather than focusing on antiaging we should rather focus on quality of life ,life without pain and robust health

    I was a vegetarian for almost 10 years and I was on dental perio maintenance. 2.5 years ago I switched to the carnivore diet. My recent dental visit showed that my gums and teeth have drastically improved, no need for deep cleaning anymore. My dentist was impressed that my teeth had no plaque. Carnivore diet is great for dental health.

      Because of vitamin K2, It's found mostly in meat. If you know how to get your mineral's and vitamins, your teeth will be fine.

    I reversed my 84 year old mums diabetes and heart disease by changing her diet to a vegan diet...she has been vegan for 4 years and she is doing amazing...perfect labs, zero prescription drugs, in the gym and lean & energetic. Doctors couldn’t believe it...

    Stress ages you the fastest. I have a lot of stress in my life but fortunately I have money to get facials and afford self care so I can keep looking young. Also I exercise almost daily and walk 5 miles around my neighborhood every time I go for a walk. Hopefully I will look young until the day I die by doing water fasting and eating less processed foods. Anyway thank you for the video Dr! :)

      I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin and vigor since doing water only fasting. I do the 20/4 schedule and every 5th day I go with a 44 hour fast. OMAD is huge.

      Yeah man, stress is probably even worse than diet. Stress can send someone straight into horrible sickness, while diet can take years to manifest as a sickness or illness.

      @@scocassovegetus thank you for sharing that information ℹ️. I don’t have a ton of stress but it is not easy living with high functioning autism and moderate social anxiety. It is very hard to simply ask for help when needed and I’m sensitive to every little type of rejection. My dad also currently has lung 🫁 cancer and is getting treatment. Other than that my life is good.

    Nobody likes to be called as Grandpa ,Grandma, Uncle Aunt etc. Often your own children make you feel old and even though Self does not feel the symptoms of old age, people around try to remind others of their advancing age. Afterall,the body is matter,and all the matter is subject to decay. Being healthy and medicine free is more important.Quality of life matters and not Quantity of years!

    I’m not fully on 100% veganism. I know die hard vegans and they are constantly sick which makes me question the efficacy of their diet. But I also agree too much animal protein is a huge no as well. I like Dr. Gundry’s aproach, he goes vegan 5 days a week and two days of animal protein usually safe seafood. I find one low animal protein meal(w cooked veggies) and one vegan meal per day(w raw veggies) works well for me. I’m never sick and feel great.

      Myself after vegan had no illness not even fever which made me sick for 4 yrs.
      I was previously fit.
      After vegan became SUPERFIT.

      Go the opposite route, pure Carnivore. Try it for 40 days. I did, and it worked for me. Now, I’m only eating OMAD and I feel great!

    Wow! As a 70 yr old listening to this, I found so fascinating! Would like for all Drs to have this in their toolbox! I've been eating more whole foods then I have in the past. I still eat fish, chicken or beef at least once a week. I feel great. In past I always thought we needed more protein. But not so. If I were in my 30s right now, probably would not listen to the studies. But for those who want to have a more healthy life. Open your minds to the studies & science. What may have worked while young doesn't always work as you get older. Look into Dr. Valter Longo who studies aging at USC. And Dr Patchin on Circadian Clock on organs.

These hormones begin to decline around 25 years of age. By 40 our hormones are losing the ability to naturally support muscle growth and maintenance, AND our bone health. Think about it, our skeletal system is supported by our muscles, the heart is a muscle, the diaphragm is a muscle. We must increase the amount of quality protein in our diet as we age to help maintain our muscle mass - increased protein and resistance training are the only 2 factors that open the mTOR pathway that induces muscle protein synthesis. Otherwise, we are destined to decline into a state of sarcopenia, and it's all downhill from there. Protect your muscles!

    A Lady I know from northern Italy, she was a farmer (Grapes for wine, Cows for cheese, etc) she lived until 97 and she worked and picked up potatoes almost until she died. So it seems that movement is the clue and a moderate diet. She never was overweight and only Sundays she did eat some Pandedone an Italian low sugar cake.

    10 years of being vegan not junky vegan but plant based home cooked meals. I noticed many wrong things happening, loss of hair, skin tone was not healthy pale and dry lack of energy just not feeling healthy, I listened to my body, after so many years of plant based I decided to eat meat, it was a hard decision but my health was declining. Now I have a balance lifestyle, grass fed meat, lots of veggies and healthy fats and carbs. My hair is full, my skin tone is back to the warm tone and energy levels are up.
    My experience, veganism is not for everyone ultimately listen to your body.

    I tried plant based, I like plant based but it left me exhausted. When I resumed a little organic meat the difference was staggering. The other thing I've just gone back to is 'full fat' and astonishingly the weight is dropping off me. But I have reduced sugar, a bit.

    My grandfather lived to 99. High social life, walked often, honest about what it was like to age eg incontinence, amazing sense of humour, played the piano. He used to joke, ‘I’m getting old’ in his 90s. Getting? He already was!

      My guess is the difference is that there are few to none plant base oils ready to eat in our environment. What plants provide K2? The reason that our diet needs to include animal foods is that our bodies and brain crave animal fat. The Maasai tribe in Africa eat only beef, blood and milk. It is impossible to thrive with a diet that does not include animal fat.

They were no legume, brocoli, pasta, rice, etc. Only meat. There are numerous studies on the benefits of carnivor diet as so many studies for keto, etc.

    This has allot going good stuff! I also say people that are close to God will have a stronger body/ spirit because they are positive, hopeful and know their body is also a temple from God so they are more aware of how they live and eat. Example.. my hubby and I are christians. He was on medformin and got off of it less than a yr by changing his diet. We did mostly veggies, some raw, fruits , less sugar and lean meat mainly and some exercise. His Dr was so impressed, not to mention, his Dr was also on it. We live to inspire change

      @@adam551982 wow, sad to say I am not surprised. I also hate alcohol, I could never stand the taste, even though I have tried to like it. My stepdad developed lung cancer and was dead at age 42. He drank a lot and smoked, but still so very young to be stricken with terminal cancer.

      J R my father in law is 97 and was a hard working carpenter until age 65. In his life he ate good & bad. He’s still alive, he eats tiny bits of this & that each day. He has always agreed with whoever he is with, no real beliefs of his own. He was & is kind of a spineless guy. That’s why I thought he lived so long in good shape.       1. Eat healthy. You don’t have to make expensive fancy complicated meals just cook whole foods, balance your plate with complex carbs, protein, healthy fats, vegetables, and fruit. Limit sugar and snacking on over processed foods. Drink water. Supplement if you have deficiencies.
      2. Exercise. Get moderate exercise every day. At least 30 minutes a day. The exercise can be whatever you want. Exercise your mind by playing word puzzles, or some type of game that requires thinking. This will help keep your mind sharp.
      3.Manage stress. Stress causes inflammation, and health problems like heart disease that build up over time and have adverse affects on your health. Practice self care where you take a couple minutes a day to unwind and take care of yourself. This can be doing yoga, journaling, taking a showering, watching tv, calling a friend, coloring, etc. The goal is to connect with yourself and show yourself some appreciation.

      Perhaps start with what is actually cheap and totally within your control? Which would be a diet of whole foods.
      Beans are packed with fiber, protein and dirt cheap, come in a wide variety of flavors and textures, can be prepared any number of ways. I buy bags of dried beans. You do have to soak overnight and throw off the water, cook for a couple hours, but if you invest in one of those new pressure cookers they can be ready in 30 minutes. Red, brown or green lentils ready in 30, no pressure cooker necessary. Brown rice in 40. Bags of sweet and white potatoes, onions, carrots are super cheap. Cabbage is about $.20 a pound. Bags of apples and oranges for $5-7. Soymilk is $3 at Walmart. A carton of oatmeal for $3. Learn to boil, bake and microwave food so that you cut down on oils, don't add oil or fat to your foods. 🌱
      There's plenty of cheap whole foods available, just spend some time in the produce department of your local grocer's. 🌱

      Vegans have to take supplememts for some 'meat only' vitamins and minerals. Diet, on which you have to take pills is not a healthy balance diet.

      I see no good evidence to support veganism. However, I also see no good reason to support carnivore either. The facts are clear: amino acids stimulate IGF1 pathway and the Mtor pathway and will contribute to aging. It's no coincidence that the long lived people of the blue zones eat meat no more than 5 times per week. The doctor is correct here. The trick is eating enough protein to prevent sarcopenia but not eat too much to stimulate IGF1. The best path is the blue zone diet: pescatarianism with occasional consumption of poultry and no red meat or dairy.

      I like Jason Fung, he has like easy approach. When it's time to celebreate - eat, then when it's fits your life - fast. Don't go crazy with food restriction.

      I actually know quite a few people in their late 40s and 50s who have been vegan for decades and are in great physical health.
      Lots of people are not watching their nutrients on a vegan diet, so it gets a bad rap, but if done right, it's the healthiest diet on the planet, plus it's good for the environment and the animals and super tasty (again, if done correctly).

      Actually, you don't need to do exercise. You just have to be sufficiently active, that is, avoid being sedentary. 45 minutes of brisk walking per day is sufficient! I'm not anti-exercise (I run 7 miles three times a week myself!). I've seen this working well for people on a plant-based diet. Tribal people in Papua New Guinea don't know what exercise is, but they are as fit as Olympic athletes - they walk...

      This would be the good type of stress. A certain amount of stress is beneficial. If we did not have 'stress' we would have no motivation to do anything. It's daily, intense chronic stress that's bad for us. Keep in mind, though, that our attitude about our stressors can make it the good, or bad kind.

    Look at the most recent doctors that are carnivore. They are doing amazing and their inflammation is actually lower. My inflammation was absolutely horrid when I was vegan, flexitatian then just high veg paleo. I cut the majority out and now my inflammation is drastically lower.

    I took HRT when I started menopause in late 40’s. After 5,years of it, my new young GP doc took me off and called my previous doc a quack for putting me on HRT. But then she puts me on estrodial cream for vag dryness, which is the HRT I was taking by tablet for 5,years. All in all over 15 years I was getting migraines more and more frequently. I finally took myself off HRT and the migraines have all but disappeared for past 4 months. Even taking once every 3-4 weeks will result is 2-3 migraines in the following 2 or so weeks, which is still much better. BUT I have aged so much!!!There’s definitely a stress factor to the migraines. It’s like he said everything is connected. Stress and aging beat up your hormones. Less hormones make you less capable of handling stress. There’s more to it than that, but it’s the vicious cycle along with “who do you believe” among the experts shelling out advice along with having other options when your HRT is giving you migraines or similar problems.

      I thought he was excellent. For the most part I have been doing most of what he talked about. I personally have been helped the most by doing intentional spiritual work like he described. It allows you to be happier and have access to more energy. I am going to call his office also.

    I know a lot of older western people who ate dairy and meat and look younger and full of energy in the '80s and '90s. . I also know a lot of older people who are plant-based eater and they lost energy's in their life in the 70s and 80s. We want to live well and not just living longer.

      veganism is very unhealthy! we didn't evolve to eat only plants. eliminating processed foods is a much more important factor. any whole food diet will be a vast improvement.

    I am an Indian. Half of the population is vegetarian in this country and rest half eats fish/meat in little quantity not everyday. At the age of 30 I started doing Yoga, I turned into vegetarian and totally clean food. Initially, I lost about 5 kg bodyweight, without any effort. I also improved my digestion. However, in next 4 years , I lost a lot of muscle, hairs and started to see wrinkles. I also developed joint pains and symptoms of premature ageing.
    To improve my condition, I started eating animal protein and took up weight lifting. Within an year, I regained muscle and also built a lot of strength. In next four years, I was having more animal protein and less plants and again some problems started. I was loosing apetite, started to have loose stools and gained 5 percent additional bodyfat along with muscles.
    I started including more vegetables and reduced the animal protein a little bit. I would only eat protein if I felt like eating, mostly sea fish, depending on demands of my body and recovery after weight lifting. I ate lot of salads, leafy greens, cruciferous veg. And, I can say that I am feeling better, much better than when I ate only vegetarian food and also when I ate huge animal protein.
    As a child, I ate a lot of raw veg, sprouts, and guava from our garden, since my mother was not well to cook meals. I have huge apetite and tollerant to huge amount of raw veg, sprouts. And, I feel sick If I don't get enough fibres in diet for more than 2-3 days.
    My grandfather lived upto 94. He never exercised besides gardening, ate everything in moderation, always spent time with family. He was very calm and gentle person.
    He had two brothers who died in their 60s, both of them bodybuilders. One of them was doctor. He died from liver cancer. And the other one died from heart attack. Both had a troubled relationship with their family.

      Yes, ketamine...it is an anesthetic that is currently being used in psychotherapy bc it has been found to help bypass one part of the brain and reach a deeper part of the brain - therefore a sort of 'shortcut' in psychotherapy.

      Yep. It's happening I know a person who is using a therapist guided Ketamine therapy to treat alcoholism.

    Tom you said you hate sleep,then you should interview tom campbell . He's reach such a state of meditation where he only sleeps 2 hours a day and feels refreshed like he slept 8 hour's.

    If you don't have access to bioidentical hormone replacement, what simple measures could you take? 48 hr fasting monthly, plant based nutrition, circadian routine...?

    In that case we only have to make it until then. Luckily practices like meditation have been shown to slow down aging by a lot - might be enough additional time for some people!

      @@deanj6722 I am not too sure about concentration meditation, but I do know that both metta meditation and mindfulness meditation have that effect - both for physical and "mental age"

    I dont eat meat but I'm not vegan. I use collagen peptides fish oil and honey. Way way less inflammation with no meat.

    I’m CARNIVORE, 50 years old and 3 years eating meat, zero plants. Till now I’m getting the best results but give 20 years and I will let you know if meat is really good or not for humans. I take the risk and you enjoy the results.

    Wow im a muslim and our religion prescribes fasting 3 times a month and or twice a week one month a year and that is dry fasting spirituality side is amazing .

      Fasting for whole month of Ramadan but that is only intermittent as most people breakfast for that day at sunset and then eat all the wrong foods and lose the benefit
