I miss Opryland SO MUCH!!!! 😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😥 WHY WHY WHY did they close down the best theme park of my childhood to open up a stupid shopping mall???!!!! 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
Let me say this. The Grand Ole Opry to Opryland turned into the equivalent of the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park in California or the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. Why did they choose to remove the Grand Ole Opry from Opryland to Downtown Nashville? Did they really think that CHAOS an indoor rollercoaster as interesting and innovative as it was is going to be the thing that would carry Opryland USA with the Grand Ole Opry being in Downtown Nashville forever?
The Flume Zoom. I remember every nook and cranny from that ride. Beautiful scenic ride. Great memories.

I wonder that, too? Like we don’t have enough mall’s already!
Agree so much! Still miss this place. I love seeing the videos at least. Good memories and much better times.
Capitalism is why. The park wasn't even doing poorly financially. Attendance was still high. They just stood to make even more money with the mall.
Opryland! Pure joy, thanks for sharing
I rode this as a child, and yes, I miss Opreyland also! We have plenty of malls already! We didn’t need another one!
This was first called the Flume Zoom. I rode it lots!
The Flume Zoom. I worked at Opryland during 1978-1979. The lift was right behind my Sipper Cart.
I worked at Opryland in 73 & 74 in Ice Cream parlor ! They go & BUILD A STUPID MALL ☹️
Yup, that’s ridiculous but it is what it is!
