My goal was to run a marathon before I was dead. I was really good at running 10 miles psychological part of running 26 miles was interesting so I spent about two months preparing to run a marathon. I wasn’t going to enter a marathon I was gonna mark it off myself and run it on a Sunday and just thought to myself I ran almost 44 miles this week in preparation to 26. I’m good with the 44.
I’ve been lifting for 5 years. Im currently 20. My sister ran the NY marathon off of lottery and now a majority of my family is running one including me. Training program starts in May. Any tips is appreciated. 😮
youve probably heard this a lot, but YOU NEED TO BUILD THAT BASE! make your fast runs faster, but most importantly, make your slow, easy runs slower and easier! also when you are doing an intervals workout keep those splits consistent and good luck!
-Have a higher cadence to avoid heel striking out in front of you. Think of taking more shorter steps rather than long slow strides -Keep your chest up and shoulders back. Think as if theres a rope tied to the middle of your chest and its tied to the top of a skyscraper down the road and its pulling you. You want your forward lean to come from your ankles not your hips -Think of bringing your foot/heel up under your butt. This will help keep your feet landing below you rather than out in front of you -if you get tired and your form starts feeling sloppy, its okay to slow down or even walk if you need to build your aerobic base. Build your base up fomirst and then add in some speed work. Don't do too much too fast, you can do more harm than good
Daym.. i rem i hated running but when i got in running shape nothing beat the runners high. I really wish i could still try to run. My back is jacked up so i cant now but i do walk. I walk with a vest or a ruck high on my back with good shoes and normally i can tolerate it.
Training for my 2nd 100 mile Ultra. Its Friday and Im at mile 70. Still have 30 miles to go really. Im running every chance i get. At least 15 miles a day.
1 day of rest sounds insane. i subbed when you showed up cuz i'm getting into running over the last year. just started with c25k and now following the NRC half marathon plan as much as i can. 47.5 mi week would literally kill me lol
@@monstereugeneno there just are different levels to this. 48 miles is not much it's local runner level As you get to regional level or more, whatever distance, it's at least 100miles/week
Hey! I know you probably won’t see this but I run on the xc and long-distance track teams for my school and I was wondering how exactly you determine your paces for your easy long runs? I always get competitive with myself and run them a bit too fast sometimes😅
bro I’ve been struggling to run without taking small breaks in between miles. Idk I ran my first half marathon at age 14 at a 7:47 mile pace, no stops, but now I’m struggling to run 8:30 miles without a couple of quick stops. Any tips?
With "easy" he probably talks about the speed he is going with. You usually put in a few slower runs in the week. As a runner, who currently is running similar milages I can also tell you, that it is not that hard to get to a point, where you describe 10k as easy. You probably need less than a year to get there. Of course only if you are healthy to begin with.
It's pretty easy to get to 6 miles if you know how to pace yourself. Almost anyone could achieve a 6 mile run, if they went at it with the right guidance.
I’ve been running 2x a day for the past 2 months and I’m just now learning that runners only run 5 days a week if they’re training for a marathon 😂 I only run about a mile per session, I usually run just to get the sweat pumping before I workout.
Good training just think the other days should have higher mileage or a shorter long run! Almost half of your mileage is spent on one day of a full week of training
Make sure to stretch before and after you run (look up routines for these), warm up and cool down before each run, especially workouts, and don't overdo it.
That sunday rest day probably feels amazing

Running at night time in the summer with a friends is legit one of the best possible moments in life
My fiends don’t run but I’ll give the night time run a shot
I ran super early in the morning with friends on a country road while the sun was rising. I felt like I was on top of the world.

Think about leaning forward slightly. Not a lot just enough to make sure you are on your midfoot when you land
Breath with your nose not your mouth

How do you run so much and not get shin splints?
Make sure to stretch before and after you run (look up routines for these), warm up and cool down before each run, especially workouts, and don't overdo it.
Shin splints are usually beginner overuse problems. If you’re a conditioned runner, you will not get it.
Could bad running from lead to them as well such as the play you plant your feet?
That's extremely low volume for a marathon runner.
Try sweat coin make my while you run
