    This is such a beautiful video. Thank you! I noticed you mentioned in the comments you recommend getting them tuned to 440HZ. I just purchased some at 432HZ. I'm wondering why you recommended higher, and what will be the difference in the sounds?

    • @AndreaCortez
      @AndreaCortez  2 года назад +4

      Good question. There isn't anything wrong with buying them at 432HZ. But if you are gong to play with other instruments that are tuned to 440HZ they won't sound good together. There are some saying that 432HZ is more healing but this isn't necessarily true. There are a lot of details about frequencies and music theory to understand why this is not true but basically it is just a different way to tune. If you are just playing your bowls by themselves then 432 is fine! If you purchase more to add to your set, then make sure they are also at 432 HZ.

    Is it normal for there to always be a bit of a scratching sound when you’re dealing with the rim of the Crystal Singing Bowls? I was able to avoid the scratching sound using the rubber mallet 2 inches away from the rim. Thank you so much for that technique! I’m still unable to avoid the scratching sound upon beginning on the rim no matter how slow or gentle I start.

    • @AndreaCortez
      @AndreaCortez  5 месяцев назад

      The best mallet to reduce the scratching sound is a rubber/acrylic tube mallet, not the ball, but you can find on Amazon. This is an older video and I don't have that mallet in this video. The rubber mallet reduces the scratch to almost nothing.

    • @AndreaCortez
      @AndreaCortez  5 месяцев назад

      If you have 7 you may have bought the set based on a C major scale, that is commonly how they are sold. You want to be careful not to play too much dissonance, that would be playing the neighboring notes at the same time. Instead you want to try to create harmony or move from dissonance to harmony. There will be numerous ways to do this with 7 bowls.

    Can you recommend which bowls are best to buy?
    Any bowl buying guide?

    • @AndreaCortez
      @AndreaCortez  3 года назад +6

      Good idea, I should make a guide. Here is a website that is reliable and you can listen to the bowls before purchase. www.silverskyimports.com Bowls are expensive, but you can start with 2 or 3 bowls and build your set. It would be good to start with the intervals of a 5th, 4th, and 3rd in your set. The intervals are what create harmony and most important. There are some affordable bowls by TopFund on Amazon that are good quality quartz frosted bowls.
