I enjoy playing a lot of chordal stuff as well as solo tapping stuff on my 4 string and I’ve been thinking for a few months about buying a 7 string!! Is it a massive learning curve moving to an extended range bass? :)

I need a 1st string in F, it's hard to find in Indonesian. So I try to replace the 1th string with guitar string 6th , but it is too short, so I need guitar string 6th with length 1 meter. Any body know the Brand?
Search for "Dean Markley SR 2000 - 2698 C" or "Pyramid 7 String Bass Set" maybe they are available in your country. The pyramid are available at Thomann, but shipping to Indonesia will probably be same costs as the strings

Offensive the wolf 7 string series aren’t bad and very affordable but I would lean more on a Conklin groove tools 7 string which pops up within eBay between $600-$1000. Just keep your eyes out for them and make your decision.

Some people like higher string basses just like some people prefer baritone guitars. Regardless of how similar the range may be, the way you play and approach both instruments varies significantly.
If I were ever to describe Bubby's style of playing I would absolutely have to say that he is an r&b version of Allan Holdsworth

Get a 7. I played 6 for a few years and now feel more versatile with 7 string solos and my Latin Jazz Band.
