I have this same turntable that we bought from Circuit City back in the early 90's. New out of the box, it didn't come with a stylis at all and you had to buy one separately. It still works after all these years too.
Cool video! My turntable needed a preamp. We replace our needle with a grado brand and it way improved the sound quality. Haven’t listened to it in 15-20 year. Keep up the great video!
I had a SL1700 and love the stroboscopic speed control. I think there was a plastic cartridge installation tool as well.
I have Pioneer PL-112D Turntable that works as good as the day I got it. I'm using it with a mint condition Realistic TRC-2000 Receiver that's been in the family since it was purchased brand new in the late 70's. I'm running everything through a pair of Cerwin Vega RE-30 speakers.
Cool. Yeah the old needles go stiff with age. I had a Pioneer and had same issue.
I have the same turntable to was gifted to me by a dear friend who has since passed on. The cartridge (Audio Technica 2002) I think is probably original and still works. The real problem is the tone arm motor squeals like a dying squirrel whenever it moves during a cueing. It’s perfectly fine while playing though.
That's old school! Dick Dale is a legend for surf music!
Thanks for the video. I have a similar situation with my turntable and your video helped me understand what needs to be done.
Dick Dale: King of the Surf Guitar.
Nice looking turntable
Thanks!
Nice !! I miss having a record player . And some old school vinyl .
Thank you! This is the video i was needing. Greetings from Argentina.
Wow huge difference, hoping that's what my issue is as well.
Thanks for the tip. Extremely helpful.
Nice quick fix! Enjoy your weekend! :)
Do I need to pull the screw to change the stylus or can I just remove the stylus? Thanks for the video
Great video man
Sir, you have a very nice amp. Hang on to that. You will have to spend a lot of money to equal or better the sound. As far as your turntable, good bang for the buck. Very happy on your success and enjoy your hi fi gear. Vinyl is the best. 73.
Thanks! You helped me a lot!
What needle/cartridge to use for Technics SL-QX200. Having trouble to identify and look for one.... Gracias...
Nice

Just needle or whole cartidge need to be replaced?
Hey! This video is hugely helpful. I’ve been using my great aunt’s Technics SL-Q300 ever since she passed 10 or so years ago.
This question is a bit of a shot in the dark, but im hoping to replace the cartridge on my turntable. It needs a mini phono preamp in order to get up to the signal level input of my amplifier. Do you think the cartridge you used as the replacement in this video would work for my turntable?
Sorry for the essay and thanks again for your video!!
This SL-Q300 was made at a time (early to mid 80's) when most stereo amplifiers and receivers had a "phono" input as standard. As a result, the Q300 did not have a built-in pre-amp. If your amplifer does not have a phono input, you will still need to use an external pre-amp with this turntable, regardless of cartridge being used.
Just plug it in your receiver video audio jack and voila instant sounds but you have to select video to hear it or maybe in dvd audio out
This looks like it might help with the Audio Technica AT81CP cartridge I just bought for my old Technics SL D21... What do you think?
I'm not really sure...I don't know a whole lot about these turntables.
@@SevenFortyOne No problem... It certainly looks similar. Great channel btw!
does this work on a Sl-bd22?
Nice job, but I never heard of Dick Dale. 😀
If you ever watched the first five minutes of Pulp Fiction you've heard Dick Dale before.
💯🎸🎸🎸👍🤘 Oh, you ate one too?
