    I really liked this amp. For me there were 2 problems: a) it gets a bit to mushy when turned up over 50% and b) you don't really get a clean sound and even if you can dial one in it will be with a lot of master volume and almost no gain (bottom end) so it whould need another pedal (minus boost) or very good volume pot fiddling on a guitar with single coils to get an cleanish sound :/

      I don't know how it works (Orange voodoo magic anyone?) but it transforms the gain structure to be super tight--dialing the pedal volume back takes the gain more towards the original sound but for thrash metal like I play, the volume should stay all the way up.

    • @hazenstribling2646
      @hazenstribling2646 6 лет назад

      My amp settings are volume all the way up, shape somewhere in that sweet spot you mentioned, and gain at 2 oclock (i have an attenuator so I don't kill my ears, it can get the amp down to speaking level)

      How does it handle small gigs? Because I love the Orange gain structure, and I LOVE boosting with things like a Horizon. I can only imagine how sick it sounds!

    Mine used to sound great, but the last couple months the gain tones just sound incredibly fizzy to me. Not sure what happened. Changed all tubes many times. It was always a little fizzy as you can hear in this video, but now it just sounds like someone yelling from behind a piece of notebook paper... almost too crunchy if that makes sense.

    Did you use any pedals? I got my Dark Terror today and it is soooo fuzzy when i turn up the gain... i know that fuzzy tone is normal in orange amps but the fuzzy tone i have sound like shit to be honest. sounds like it is plugged in in a really cheap small cab...

      @petkopeet They share the same gain stages, so they’re very similar. The TH30 is slightly thicker, doesn’t get muddy as quick, and has a LOUD clean channel. For the price, I’d recommend the DT. Not enough of a tonal difference to constitute the cost, IMO.

Also, for everyone commenting on the TV in the background, and all of the other electronics on in the back, every professional recording studio loves having many, many electronic devices on in the background all going at once. It really, really adds to your sound :)
