No, just the fast food industry. Everyone else at entry level positions are between $16.5-$19.00 with the median around $17. It drove up the prices on fast food and caused layoffs in many fast food restaurants. As it stands, I think the intent is to get rid of the fast food industry in California. Newsom is a menace to society, but "rain bombs and atmospheric rivers" are words that have been used for a very long time. Like for example the atmospheric river produced by the Amazon rain forest, is capable of moving a large amount of vapors and water for a long distance in a very short period of time, causing a water bomb (dumping a lot of water at once) in the Southeast-South of Brazil (1586 miles Southeast- 4515 miles South).

I'm Native American and we have the same problem with red tape on the reservations. The federal government is the trustor of the American reservations so if you want to do any type of development on the reservations you have to jump through a million different federal hoops to do anything. That's why there is pretty much zero development of any kind on most reservations. Why would you develop on the reservation if it is going to cost you so much time and money? You wouldn't, of course. This is why the reservations have free schooling, free healthcare and hospitals, no sales tax and yet they have the highest poverty rates of any group by far; we're talking 3rd world poverty rates. Native Americans have become slaves to the government. If you want to see what the government created utopia looks like, where the government provides everything and controls everything, the reservations are where you should look.

Okay, California here who voted to recall Newsom, but his "rain bomb" explanation is a reference to the fact that in 2023 the IRS gave most Californians an extension of time to file their tax returns until November. He is arguing that Californians got another six month to pay their taxes in 2023, leading to the "unexpected" deficit. But this makes no sense because such extensions never allow the taxpayer to extend the time for payment --- it is just an extension of time to file their return. Taxes are paid each quarter by businesses and every two weeks by employees, rain bombs or no rain bombs. Newsom's argument is a lie.

I just left California after 20 years. My business was a half a million, not bad for just 2 people plus one part time. Why I left:
1. Expensive. California was always expensive but we made enough to justify that. That enough wasn't enough anymore.
2. Over regulation of everything. The government wasn't to control everything.
3. Too many government fees.
4. Fines. You get fines excessively for everything. My truck with vinyl lettering was briefly parked in a residential street. Against the rule. I got fined. $750! You steal from a store and thats not punishable. Parking a commercial van in a residential street is a crime worth of $750.
5. The state makes money on gas and electricity. And a lot. We get nothing in return.
6. Zoning. Housing is terrible because of zoning.
7. Plain stupid government.
8. Wokeness. Plus is unpleasant to me a white straight male now. Lots of hostility.

My girlfriend's entire family moved out of California Because it was so bad. Their neighborhood was going downhill fast and they were paying a crazy amount of money for rent in a cramped little house. They relocated to the suburbs of oklahoma city and now have a big house for less money and way better schools and a very nice neighborhood. Their quality of life has increased dramatically.

I lived in the Cali Central Valley. The damage the State of California to accomplish nothing is astounding. They admit they will never run a high speed train on these high speed rails. I know companies that have lined up to get part of the work even though they think the project is a joke. AND the state bought out people but then held the proceeds until they could prove they could buy something else with the money - again hurting the poor.
