It's almost magical how top- drawer musicians like the wonderful Emil Gilels can make even a (relatively) basic sonata (G major, not minor). sound very special. That wonderful touch, the phrasing, the musicality that can only come with inate talent, and years of hourly daily practice. Gilels could make 'three blind mice' sound like a work of art! I'm not sure there has been anyone quite like him- certainly none better.
