Please release the whole gig from the archive. I am sure they could restore the film with modern technology and also I think the mastertape are in the vaults somewhere. Maybe David has them. I know they did not like the dark picture at the time but it should be one helluva gig to see and here and a important timedocument. Nice closeups on Jon!!!❤😎🐧🐧 Please David release it and make us all very happy. We are not getting any younger. It could been seen as a celebration for Bernie Marsden who died no long ago.❤❤
Martin, everyone has his preferences, but for me the best band, came out from D.P., is / was long time ago, now it's bullshit - Rainbow. Even Gillan had double trouble & magic very creative and nice compositions! I'm agree that Whitesnake from this period has nothing to do with nowadays, I'd say Poorsnake - simply surviving on the old glory, nothing more! Do you know that David operated his vocal strings, to sound more Roby Plantish voice?! David always had reckogniseable colour of his bluesy, rich blackish voice. He ruined his voice, cos now he sounds like ch
i saw whitesnake in 1981, they opened up for jethro tull. they did the live in the heart of the city album.they sounded great. i liked jethrow tull but i went more for whitesnake. i already had the live album before i went to the concert. they played the whole live album, that was pretty much their set. that was fine with me, they sounded great. every band was on tour and i saw almost everyone, starting with kiss in 1977.
@Totte70 No no, this is actual 1979 footage ! I've uploaded Medicine Man as well. They played Medicine Man only on couple of gigs during 1979. And yes the Hammersmith show from 1980 became Live.. In the Heart of the City
Think this is the show where Mick Ralphs guested on Rock Me Baby. Mott the Hoople, Deep Purple and Bad Company were the first bands I got into, so that was a great combination! Actually got into Led Zeppelin just after that. If DC got Jimmy Page to help him restore video footage like this, with some of the Coverdale/Page performances, imagine how great a DVD could result from that.
Great post Gillanfan89.Yeah this is from the same era as the Live In The Heart of the City album that I have. I'm a fan of DP/Gillan and Mr Coverdale's band up to and including Slide It In. The 1987 incarnation sold millions of records but lost the soul and was too overblown imo.
@@salt27dogg Yes, I always liked that too. Whitesnake had 3 former Deep Purple members on board at the end of the 70's, Rainbow 2 of them (Blackmore and Glover). Very interesting time...
@@cotr-christmasontherocks4649 Rainbow had also future Purple guys with Don Airey and Joe Lynn Turner . And Gillan was in Black Sabbath. And then Black Sabbath replaced Gillan with Glenn Hughes . Lol

I saw them in Hammersmith 78...think it was their first concert...
Super GREAT!! LOVE
@Gillanfan89 Actually they played Ham both March 3 and October 28 1979! But since Ian Paice is in the band here it's late '79.

This is MY Whitesnake, when Tawny Kitane still went to kindergarten. ;-)
LMAO she was probably in college
Right!? This is the Rockin Blues Whitesnake seeped in Deep Purple-ishness!
I've had the pleasure of playing that very Les Paul Bernie Marsden is playing. His '59, "The Beast". Actually to the right in my profile pic. ;-)
I first saw the on this tour in Oxford , brilliant stuff

Best line Update ever

Their best days ever....after that, Whitesnake was turned into an "American" hair band....
This would be great if it was cleaned up/remixed..Micky's solo was inaudible.
First shows with Paice...
Paice and Lord were both in Whitesnake? Wowowow

I know it is a long time ago but i am sure i was there i mean you would know wouldn't you..
@jimthejanny ...WORD !!!
But this is 1980, isn't it?
No, I don't think so. It is possible that this is in 1979, because Ian Paice joined Whitesnake in Summer '79.
Einfach gut
