This was my favorite line up of Whitesnake. I know they had enormous success with other versions, but this band was more a Blues Rock Band than the Hair Pop Band it turned into. Nothing wrong with those versions but I loved this version of Whitesnake.

Best version of the snake imho, gritty, bluesy, and balls out. Marsden and Moody together were absolutely fantastic! You cannot say enough about Lord and Paicey and Murray is as good a bassist as you'll find. Solid line up.

Undoubtedly the strongest period of whitesnake. With three masterpiece studio albums. Coverdale was incredible lucky 1979/1983 to gather around him giants like Lord Paice Murray and the duo Marsden/Moody

I knew the Whitesnake UK albums before Coverdale made his US breakthrough. I was 8 years old and had an older brother. Soulful Hard Bluesy Rock. Super consistent. Powerful. In the spirit of the DP cartographies, here flirting with a more direct but still highly articulated vision of R&R.
