  • A closer look at Romans 14 and what the Apostle Paul was really addressing. It has nothing to do with the Sabbath, feast days, or eating anything unclean.

You can worship God any day of the week that you like. We are told to remember the sabbath, and keep it set apart (holy). The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath. Seek the Lord on these things and be led by the Sprit. Trust in God and hear his voice.

well said ... the book of romans is one of the most misunderstood books in the bible. satan use the same strategy he use when tempting jesus he quoted scriptures but took it out of context to get jesus to sin....an another thing i dont understand is how pastors can read jesus telling them that those who teach others not to keep the law will be called least in the kingdom,,,still do it......good video, God bless

He did not say you would lose your salvation though. He was under law of Moses at the time.

You are correct. The Sabbath is sundown friday until sundown Saturday; but i will never understand why pastors and preachers are not teaching this..its the fourth commandment..and everyone just follows instead of leading the flock

Oh, and please do not misunderstand my last sentence, I think it is good that you, a believer, teach that we are to obey the commandments of God (be great in the Kingdom). I simply meant that once one has the Holy Spirit, and God's laws are written on their hearts, they will seek to obey Him--some more, some less (greater, least). Teaching God's truth is a good thing, and the priority is that Yeshua is the Christ according to the scriptures. This was Paul's priority.

Yeshua came to give sight to the blind. I want people to question what they are being taught. Not just believe everything coming from their pastors. Every rebuttal I get comes from someone using Paul's teaching out of context. People need to test teaching against the Torah. People that teach Paul's writings out of context are blind to the truth of what he is really teaching. Mark 8:22. Yeshua touched the man twice in order for the man to see. The 1st time gave partial sight, the 2nd clear sight.

I agree with most of what you just said and you are talking with someone who has been mocked by believing family members for keeping sabbath, feast days and dietary restrictions. They do misunderstand what Paul wrote in many cases, ~but not all. They do understand the most important point Paul was making, that Yeshua is the promised Messiah, the Son of God and God. He proved this by using the old testament scriptures. Once one receives the Spirit they will be taught by God, needing no man.

Worshiping God is ofcourse every day, but a special day of worship is sabbath, saturday. This is to be observed because God commanded.Exodus 20:8-11, He rested on it(Genesis 2:1-3),though He can't get tired(Isaiah 40:28) The gentiles were as well welcome to it(Isaiah 56:5-7), Jesus said He is the Lord of Sabbath(Mark 2:27), The Apostle Paul worshipped on it(Acts 17:1-2, 18:4, 13:42-46; 16:13, and in the new Jerusalem God's saints will worship on the Sabbath day(Isaiah 66:22-23)

I agree, the Romans passage is talking about fasting and not the observance of sabbath, which is perpetual and forever. However, I take real issue with calling those who follow Yeshua, who may be least in the Kingdom due to misunderstanding new testament writings by Paul, "the *blind* leading the blind". Paul, who knew the law better than most, was also spiritually blind until he met Yeshua. Those who are known by Yeshua may be *least* but they are not *blind*. (Not referring to unrepentant.)

I believe I say it pretty clear in the video that the sabbath begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. I don't know what you are referring to.

Verse 14 (which is grossly mistranslated) goes to the heart of the matter, which is not eating CLEAN foods (on a particular "day") that have become COMMON (made "unclean" by association). You must understand the difference between UNCLEAN and COMMON. A PIG is unclean, and a COW is not. HOWEVER, if the PIG and the COW come in close contact with each other, the COW in now considered "COMMON"; which , again, means that even though it's a CLEAN animal, it is now considered to be "UNCLEAN"; because of its close association with the PIG. (The actual issue in Romans is most likely CLEAN meats being made COMMON by their association with PAGAN temples.)
Now, as to Romans 14:14, and it's proper rendering:
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing -unclean- COMMON of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be -unclean- COMMON, to him it is -unclean- COMMON.

@@nehemiahsback3895 I'm interested to know how it is that a cow becomes Unclean (Not food for us) if it comes in contact with a pig.
Can you show me in scripture where it says this please?
I don't think there is a scripture which says this.
Horses, donkeys and mules are Unclean animals since they don't have split hooves and they don't chew the cud - Lev.11:3. So would that mean that anyone who rode on or even touched one of these animals would also become [ceremonially] unclean?
Yeshua rode a donkey into Jerusalem four days before Passover!

If Jesus is the Our Rest (Heb 4) and Lord of the Sabbath (Matt 12), than having Him in us now is more important than the seventh day. Is it not? But I will never discourage people from keeping the Sabbath because , as noted, Jesus said that blessed are those who teach the commandments and to not teach against them. But I can trust that He is my everyday Sabbath Rest and I honor Him in someway every day to acknowledge that He is Holy and set apart. Is not the Holy Spirit of Christ Himself to be worshiped and followed everyday? May the Lord Jesus forgive me if I am misinterpreting anything.
    Matthew 12 (NKJV)
12 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”
3 But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: 4 how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests? 5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? 6 Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. 7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
9 Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. 10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”-that they might accuse Him.
11 Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” 13 Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other."

Track Peters Did not Yehshua say that "One greater than the temple is here" and permitted His disciples to pick figs on the Sabbath saying that it was just as David's men ate the priest's consecrated bread; saying also how the priests are allowed to break the Sabbath? If we are a kingdom of kings and priests set apart unto God, than all I am saying is this; aren't there transcendent ways to find Sabbath Rest in Him even more than His original example of a day of rest? Is not rest for the spirit and soul deeper and more important than mere bodily rest?

The verse that says 2 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!” The LAW Yeshua was breaking was a MAN MADE LAW" The Pharassees invented the LAW that you could not pick grain on the Sabbath. The LAW/Torah/Word of God says that farmers were to leave the edges of their crops alone so that the poor people can come and pick food to eat. (Leviticus 23:22 "'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the LORD your God.'") Yeshua was not breaking the Sabbath law he was simple following his fathers law NOT a man made tradition. Shalom
