Jimmy negotiating with Tuco in the desert was simultaneously some of the most nerve-wracking and hilarious tv I’ve seen. Also, the guy Tuco tells to stop helping is No-Doze, who Tuco beat to death in Breaking Bad...guess he couldn’t take the hint lol
He got them off with just a broken leg each after they called Tuco Salamanca's grandmother a "Biz-natch". Five seasons later characters familiar with Tuco will still be marveling at that achievement.
True. When Jesse and Walt threaten Saul in their fuzzy balaclavas, Saul says 'it wasn't me it was Ignacio. Siempre soy amigo del cartel. Lalo didn't send you?' I always misheard him thinking he said Eladio, which sorta makes sense since he mentioned cartel. But he actually said was Lalo. Nacho is a varient of Ignacio, Lalo is one for Eduardo. 2 name mentions from BrBa but never seen.
Yeah and Jesse is most likely a student in Walt’s class or just graduating. (First episode takes place in 2002 and Jesse was born in 1984 so he’d be 17 or 18)
First time I ever saw Michael Mando's work (the guy who plays Nacho) was in the Far Cry 3 game as Vaas. The character wasn't even meant to be in the game but apparently his auditions were so good they had to write a character for him to play. I can't tell you how happy I was that he was casted for Better Call Saul. His performance in that game was so good. I'd say one of the best villain characters I've seen in any game.
I always wondered if Michael Mando who plays Nacho was cast because someone played alot of Farcry 3 and were obsessed with his definition of insanity. He was the best part of the game, that's why he's on the cover.
BCS is a slow burn. It's very character rich. Pay attention to backgrounds, lighting, camera angles, subtle physical exchanges between characters. Every single thing is done with purpose. Btw, that is the real sky. One of the things they love about shooting in Albuquerque is that huge sky. The scenery is very important to them.
Exactly. I can think of at least a couple reasons why she’d do that, and neither are good. What’s more is that the Salamanca cartel has presumably existed for many years by this point, so granny-undoubtably being one of the family-would likely know something about their criminal activities; even if she turns a blind eye or pretends otherwise.
this moment right here is why the Salamancas will never kill Jimmy. they'll do anything besides that. anyone who can reason with Tuco like that is way too valuable to die.
Well, grandma is most likely a “Salamanca,” the family that runs the biggest and most notorious Mexican drug cartel in the BB/BCS universe. She also hit a man, and drove away from the scene...for which there is no excusable reason. In light of this, odds are she ain’t so good.
I love your reaction videos! Better Call Saul is very good. It starts off at kind of a slow pace for the first couple of seasons, but then gets much better as the seasons go along. I enjoy all of the Breaking Bad Easter eggs sprinkled in here and there. There are some Better Call Saul episodes that are great. However, and this is obviously just my opinion, it is not quite on par with Breaking Bad. When I think of the "Ozymandias" episode of Breaking Bad, and I watch it now (almost 7 years after seeing it the first time), I am still blown away by it. That BB episode was so powerful and so harrowing from start to finish. There are no episodes of Better Call Saul -- in 5 seasons -- that quite match that single episode of BB (yet). Many viewers think that Better Call Saul is just as good as BB, if not better... but I can't quite agree. So... I would say that Better Call Saul is definitely worth watching all the way through -- the 6th & final season of it is coming sometime in 2021 -- and it is a very well done show, for all the reasons Breaking Bad was a well done show (acting, directing, editing, scenery, writing, etc.). BUT it's a 'slow burn' kind of a show, and not quite at the same pace or level of intensity that Breaking Bad was at in its final couple of seasons. To me, Breaking Bad is much more rewatch-able than Better Call Saul. I can watch certain episodes of BB many times over the years, but I don't have as much of a desire to watch BCS episodes repeatedly.
That's what people don't understand about flat States like New Mexico. People think "Oh, it's so flat, it's boring". Thing is, it's not the land you're there for, it's the sky. Look straight ahead in flat states and you see the sky. In states like Michigan where I live you see land most of the time and only see sky if you look up. It really does change your perception, kind of like living in the sky. That's why Montana has "Big Sky Country" on their license plates.
@@GoliathWarfare There's not really much of a difference. People from Latin & South America and other places colonized by Spain & Portugal where extensive crossbreeding took place between the colonists and natives can identify as white or not depending on their preference. For example, 53% of the United State's Hispanic and Latino population identified as white in the 2010 census. What I'm getting at is that being Latino doesn't exclude someone from being white.
@@DovahFett What's more, Latino and Hispanic is a cultural thing. Alexis Bledel identifies as Latina because of her links with Argentina and Mexico, and because she spoke Spanish at home.

His name is Ignacio "Nacho" Varga and he works with Tuco as his number 2 guy.
The guy who saved Saul from Tuco was Nacho(Ignacio). He was mentioned in breaking bad when Jesse and Walt brought Saul in desert to scare him, and Saul said "It wasn't me, it was all Ignacio" and then he mentioned that he thought that Lalo Salamanca( you will see him later, he is amazing guy) sent them.
