For ANYONE WATCHING THIS. This school isn't as good as you may think it is. As a former youth, there were a lot of rules put in mixed with a lot of different types of people. The worst of the worst has happened there. I would never recommend this school for ANYONE. True: It can get you into a good college and it will help pay for whatever tuition. However, it is not worth it. If you want to spend your days writing points on your card based on a positive or negative thing you've done, not being able to do anything that you really want to do, complete a 2 hour house cleaning every Saturday and/or Sunday, go to school with a brown card and writing down numbers of the skill that you used (e.g 1. Following Instructions 2. Obtaining permission ... *8.Completing Assignments* , and the list goes on and on), or even having to say "Ok" to everything they say or you'll get a consequence, this school is perfect for you. 👍

i used to be in Boys Town from 1999 to 2002.I have to admit that it has marked my life forever.It is the best place and greatest opportunity that o ever got.It changed my life forever.I was there when father peter ran boys town and when it became girls and boys town.In fact, i voted in for it to becone girls and boys town as well.I also recall my family teachers, the schwarts.They were Jewish and the best i ever had, but they wound up leaving and i ended up with the kings I have to tell you, they helpnyou alot in this place.

I am sure some people at boystown hurt these youth in the past just like um say some catholic churches. BUT I AM SURE many many people have got help and have had great success at boystown which i am sure changed their life for the better. SO i agree, lets call out blame where its due BUT dont throw the whole thing in the fire because some people are sinners and human. Lets judge those that do wrong yes, but lets also thank and appreciate those youth leaders and workers that have Helped the youth :-)

His oddities and behavior gave rise to a later in life suspicion and confirmed for me he was a predatory gay, totally inappropriate as a councselor. Others too fit that suspicion. My single point here today begs the question... HOW DID THEY SIFT THROUGH ANY INSPECTION, any vetting ''? Oh...there was much more wrong when I was there. much more for another day
