It is hard to believe how much BoysTown grew after the depression. I imagine that the movie were Spencer Tracy played Father Flanagan brought alot of attention and financial help to the town. As far as I know up to the war everything was run by the boys with Father Flanagan overseeing it and keeping them above water. It is a amazing story the town had its own zip code, was completely self governed. Everything was done by the boys from the post office, maintenance, teaching, farming and everything that any town would need. Every boy left with a trade or some way of making a living. It is truly amazing what Father Flanagan achieved.
I HAD: Learned Throughout So Much Of My Own Life And Growing Years. WITHIN: A Mighty Strong Sense Of Structure. I HAD: That Which Was Like The “BOYSTOWN” Of The Past. WHEN: I Had Started Building Upon Most Of My Career Experience From The Ground Up. WORKED: At A Hewlett-Packard Production Plant When I Was A Teenager In The 1980’s And In 1986. THEN: I Had Learned And Mastered Most Of My Career Experience Training In Retail Like It Was Quite A Few Years Ago. Possibly Like The 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, And The 1980’s Let Alone In Those Days Where Training and Experience Is Taken Mighty Seriously.
You knew you grew up around Omaha when your parents threatened to send you there if you misbehaved! Also interesting to see how much smaller Omaha was in the 1950s. (And yeah I know about that whole Franklin cover up thing that happened in the 80s before I was alive)
If we knew then, what we know now. Oh boys town. How terrible to see this video and what really happened and what was happening to them. “Relationships “ yeah is that what they called it?
And very few have ever heard about what actually happened there. Have you seen the doc on this place? They ran it like an auction house for molesters, it would make Epstein blush ffs. And the ties to so many politicians goes to show how powerful they really are, sickening how long this place was allowed to operate.
@@jimmartin7881 i have seen it. So many people got away w murder. Literally. Just one person was the fall guy and really for stealing from a bank! Insane! So many victims!
Father Flanagan's dream come true...and just about every other Catholic priest's dream too. It went all the way up to the White house and nothing was ever done about it. Boys town was the subject of the documentary "Conspiracy of silence" truly sickening what these people got away with for decades under the guise of helping children at their most vulnerable.
I see they pushed father boes out of there. Boys town is struggling with issues in every area and law suits and fines from saftey, to aligations and more. Boys town is there to help kids not try and groom them. And some employees are doing the same with each other.its sad how the kids are treated at the treatment center
This is just another video on youtube glorifying child sex abuse. Look up Boystown on your own. This was exposed long ago. There is absolutely no reason to show this video without the context of what was allowed to happen here.

An incident occurs at 10:40. This could have been the cleanest, best pleasure for these young men but the camera turns off too soon.
This is true young people need hope and training a lot of parents don't do this especially in this time
