I remember this contestant was more into lounge R&B. For this song, he was blessed with a great arrangement (those musicians are really good). But something sparked Chikezie in a trance-like state. I specially loved the stuttering, a nod to My Generation, by The Who.
Chikezie's best performance by a mile. So glad he got to have an amazing, 'best of the night' performance before he was voted off. He obviously wasn't going to win, but I'm glad he showed America what he's got.
I had to look this up again because the judges keep saying this year is the best but this performance by Chikezie is the one that I will never forget! Just wish I could have heard this in person. This is the kind of music that moves you.
Damn it Boy! Where in the hell did this performance come from? Best performance this season, best this season. This could be the best of all performances ever. Shit dude, I am an old man, you amazed me. Go Chikezie Go
He was one of my least favs in the beginning but by the time this performance was over, he was one of my MOST favs. I wish he would have stayed longer!!!!
Best performance on March 11. I like this guy; he seems genuine and is getting better and better. Chikezie won't win the competition, but I hope he goes far.
This was the "Original Spin" to end all original spins. And I agree with BellaVenizia that 2 years later we still remember it. I doubt if another contestant will ever top that. And Ryan went a little nuts at the end when he couldn't resist Chikezie's sweaty head.
@themaxster100 chikezie had undeniably one of the best performances here of the season but the problem was he really couldn't follow it up with something better the next week so people had no reason to vote for him! I still think he is amazing but David Cook and David Archuleta were the clear choices to make the top 2, they just continued to give amazing performances week, after week, after week! And David Cook was able to put a new twist on so many songs and make it sound like a record!
As Randy Jackson would say,"Chikeze-eze wow man thats the way put it down thats the way to sing, yo whoever ain't sung a song last night or whatever, that was hot, thats the one to beat right there!"
This was the best of the season. He should have performed like that all the time. That would have gotten him to the top if his perfomances were just consistent.... But I will definitely by his album when it comes out.
Since he said that? I think he acknowledged the fact that Danny did have a very big personality that people grew onto, and that helps you get far in this competition.
One of the all-time memorable performances from AI- took a pretty ordinary song and made it into something fantastic! Even Cowell managed to say something positive - except Ryan went abit crazy afterwards.
@bcrusher3 yeah i saw that performance :( i got so mad at simon. but i did like david cook i just wish he would have made some albums afterwords but i can understand why he wouldn't. at least he got in a musical
He impressed me first with I Believe to My Soul, especially when he chose to do the original version as opposed to the more well known Ray Charles version. He definitely deserved to last longer than Remiele and KLC.
This was a 10~er I loved it ! Ryan what's up man ? I think you learned a good lesson from this!!! Chikeze this should have been your tear but somebody intimidated you. For the following week you were freeking out I'm sure the people were teasing you about that. Too bad gotta love ya go ~be strong and concor thanks your fan debbW@Y why because I like you!
Most memorable performance ever, in my opinion. I love it!!
Out of all beatles version this was my favorite, still is.
This was my favorite performance so far! I can't get this song out of my head!
Best contestant ever

I wish Chikezie would record this song. Loved it since i first heard it in 2008.

What a fabulous performance. He was so pumped from this song.
One of my favorite Idool performances ever and I've watched it since season 2.
Oh the good days of idol
He has such talent, such a powerful voice.
I dont belive he will be forgotten.
Love You Brother!! You're a great singer. God Bless You!!
That was so cool ... best moment ever, along with "Hello" and "Light mu fire"
That was the best AI performance since Fantasia's Summertime. Completely original, creative, enthusiastic, and extremely well sung version.
God, I can't say how much I love this video. Chi rockd it and so did Seacrest LOL
Love it!
That was awesome!!!
CHIKEZIE IS ON FIRE!!!!
Awesome! I vote for you dude.
One of the few times a contestant nearly pulled off a Fantasia level performance
craaaaaaazy
this performance made me fall in love with chikezie :)
Never been a huge Beatles cover fan but this is genius.
This guy is incredibly talented.
by far the best performance in all of season 7
I need this guy to record this song!!!!
That was great!!!!
Still one of my very fave AI performances ever
DAMN dude...you ROCKED!!!
When I saw this performance, Chickezie had my vote to win the whole thing. I couldn't believe that he was knocked off so early.
His arrangement totally hit me of having a Zeppelin flavor. I LOVED it, omg. Him, Amanda and Brooke are my faves
never woulda expected this performance from him. except for the hicks-esque thing in the middle, it was mighty impressive.
By far the best performance this season. He should have been in far longer than most of the finalists.
Good stuff! That was awesome!
This guy kicked ass!!!
LONG LIVE THE BEATLES!!
he rocks so hard :D
Damn it Boy! Where in the hell did this performance come from? Best performance this season, best this season. This could be the best of all performances ever. Shit dude, I am an old man, you amazed me. Go Chikezie Go
Dang straight--Chikezie knocked it out of the park with this one. Lennon would have loved it. And I'm a McCartney fan.
He was one of my least favs in the beginning but by the time this performance was over, he was one of my MOST favs. I wish he would have stayed longer!!!!
Chikezie is the MAN!
Who's still watching in 2016? 👍
Hello from 2020.
wow that was good
Chikezie mention Danny… Does anyone know that Danny is a drag queen now? Doesn’t surprise me.
i miss when randy, paula & simon were the judges :(
I honestly don't know how he didn't go much further in this competition!
I remember this performance blowing my mind... damn shame he was DOA after the show
Dead On Arrival... Chikezie went nowhere :(
+caribdude815 - Still watching, too. This is one of those rare performances I just can't forget.
I remember watching this and my jaw just dropped. It was great the first time I saw it. Watching it again, it's not as great but still very well done.
I swear I was absolutely went mental when he was singing this song!
Best performance on March 11. I like this guy; he seems genuine and is getting better and better. Chikezie won't win the competition, but I hope he goes far.
Chikezie...was amazing. I love this dude.
Obviously, Seacrest does, too; can't keep his hands offa him, lmao.
@VannahVonSally indeed. This is my favorite idol performance evaH!
Woooo!!! That was HOT!!!!

this performance deserved him top 4 at least
As Randy Jackson would say,"Chikeze-eze wow man thats the way put it down thats the way to sing, yo whoever ain't sung a song last night or whatever, that was hot, thats the one to beat right there!"
WHOA!!! Knock...me...OUT!!!!

Ahh
:D

Oh, Ryan. How you make me laugh. XD
who said it had to be close to the original
he made it HIS style, and played it HIS way.
and he did a very good job at that
One of the all-time memorable performances from AI- took a pretty ordinary song and made it into something fantastic! Even Cowell managed to say something positive - except Ryan went abit crazy afterwards.
unique approach to the song and had fun with it! paul sang it like a black guy. chikeze sang it like paul. EXCELLENT
@bcrusher3 yeah i saw that performance :( i got so mad at simon. but i did like david cook i just wish he would have made some albums afterwords but i can understand why he wouldn't. at least he got in a musical
I think the Beatles would given it a thumps up!!
WAY TO GO JACUZZI!
My favorite AI performance, no one else is close. Better then the Beatles version.
He impressed me first with I Believe to My Soul, especially when he chose to do the original version as opposed to the more well known Ray Charles version. He definitely deserved to last longer than Remiele and KLC.
it's not meant to be, if you listen, he says
"i'm putting my own funk on it"
so obviously he didn't want it to be close to the original.
This was a 10~er I loved it ! Ryan what's up man ? I think you learned a good lesson from this!!! Chikeze this should have been your tear but somebody intimidated you.
