Hello, Mrs. Jo! I'm currently doing my CELTA online and I see what you mean. Doing it online is quite challenging and the course is so intensive, so no time to think, just learn and teach, but I like it. Thank you for your observation.
This was a brilliant video to share.thanks so much ..i am about to embark on to a CELTA course.. and i think i will try to attend the face to face(virtually of course)
I've just successfully finished my CELTA fully online. I'm used to working online but most of the co-trainees had no online experience and the amount of unassessed TP was not enough for them. Now I'm just a little worried about teaching groups in a real environment as I got used to observing students in the comfort of breakout rooms and I'm anxious about monitoring them in a real noisy class =)
Hi Anastasia- congratulations on completing CELTA! It's good to be aware of the differences, but I'm sure that you'll cope! If you look on the CELTA Toolkit on my site, (elt-training.com) -it's free- there are some videos on classroom management that you might find helpful :)
Biggest difference in TP seems to be time. Things go that bit more slowly on Zoom. Setting up tasks, organising feedback. Hard to do as much pair check. Yet, it is surprisingly as engaging for learners as face-to-face lessons.
Dear Ms. Jo Which is better icelt or celt-s ? My level is upper intermidiate. Teaching over 15 years. How to influence speaking and grammar. What books would you suggest.Thank you

I am an indian and i stay in japan . So is it okay if i do course face to face from uk ?
Hi there- I’m not sure I have understood your question but you can do celta anywhere in the world as long as you can get a 4 week study visa.
Just to add- I mean that you only need a study visa if it’s a face to face course obviously… online you can take it anywhere
