Jason Clarke is Killing it.. Finally a role i approve of for him.. He just has that face that shows fear and anxiety.. Fits well for this character he's portraying..
Stephen King has seen this remake and not only liked it, but is supportive of the changes made to the original story. The rationale for the main change was that that it allowed for more dialogue, exploration and action from the point of view the character that returns. That is to say; a 9 year old can essentially deliver a more robust performance than a little toddler. I loved the book and I understand why some people have not been receptive to the change. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. King has been notoriously savage against projects based on his work in the past. If he actually approves of this new take on his story, then that's enough reason for me to check it out.

A lot of the movies King likes are kind of shitty though. He hated the Kubrick adaptation of The Shining (which I thought was awesome and spooky) and liked the 2017 remake of It (which wasn't scary or eerie in the slightest).

The directors said part of the horror of Ellie becoming undead is because of her being the curious inquisitive child always asking those hard questions. So it's like the evil is messing with Louis by having her continue to ask even though she already knows, she's just asking rhetorically
Also if you have read the books then you would get why Ellie changes this time, her and Church always had a connection. Why Stephen King chose Gage never made sense besides having a killer toddler? This change actually makes sense.

Lol my mom told me that this movie wasn't that scary. I told her that my aunt had us watch pet sematary(1989) when she babysit me amd my sister. The Zelda scene fuck me up as a kid, To this day it still does and now come to think of it yeah.. Now I'm scared shitless for the remake of Zelda appearance in the movie. That's good for them not showing Zelda's face in the movie trailers.
I feel like the truck scene is going to be a lot darker and could possibly show Ellie getting hit by the truck. With today’s graphics, they could definitely pull it off. I feel like that scene will be so disturbing and will stick with the whole audience for days
Samuel’s Piano Covers they showed Charlie getting killed in hereditary pretty graphically so I wouldn’t doubt it at all that they go very graphic and gruesome with it.

This I feel would be way, way worse but I hope they atleast show the aftermath which it looks like they will atleast show partially with her reanimated corpse, just like they did in the book.

Please treat all animals correctly. My beautiful foster son was adopted a few months ago. Looks just like the cat in the trailer. I hope wherever my boy is that he is safe, loved and protected. I couldn't keep him, though I wanted to with all my heart. I'll always love him. Giving him up will always be a regret of mine so wherever my boy is, I hope he's happy. I love you, Rocket.

The 1st was good but if there's one thing Hollywood do well these days its cranking out generic, predictable crap with jumpscares that idiots panic at. True horror = Alien. build up... atmosphere. Not jumpscares. Lets see what this film will be...

Lisa Plambeck tbh I’ve always found the father to be scarier than the “zombies” due to the fact that he’s such a realistic character, and you know deep down on a primal level if you were in the same situation, even though from an outer perspective you’d see him as mad or insane, you’d do the same exact thing
I don't understand people who are upset that Ellie is going to die rather than Gage. An older actor (in this case actress) will be able to do so much for for the story. I mean, in the 89 version it was obvious that it some scenes they were using a doll in the place of Gage. I think it is a change that will make the movie better.
Ellie is so freaking cute and sweet in this adaptation, it hurts my heart to know what happens to her. Poor baby 😢. So easy to see why Louis couldn’t accept what happened.

Just watched this. If you have any interest in this film, please go watch it. It's another horror film that has something to say. It's a great story with a strong message and the scares get real good. The atmospheric tension is present right from the get-go. This film is very creepy and is worth your time and money. Jason Clarke also gives one hell of a performance.
Just got back from the theater watching this movie and I gotta say that this new version is every bit as good or better than the original version. The father and son from this new version looks alot like the father and son from the original version, particularly the son. A must see movie.
I have to close my eyes at the cinema these days when the trailer is on as they give out so much from the film and when you finally watch the film you feel like you're watching the film a second time. Also some of these trailers are so long and they give out all the best bits of the film and it makes you think what's the point of watching the film. Because I've successfully closed my eyes whenever this trailer has come on the cinemas I should be able to enjoy this film when it comes out.
Be sure to see this in theatres folks. R rated horror films traditionally don't do well at the box office. The more of us that get out there and see it the more blockbuster horror films we'll have coming our way. Normally I'm not big on remakes but for Stephen King films im always stoked to see em.

I don't mind that they made Ellie the one who dies (either way Louis loses a child), I just hate that they didn't save it as a surprising twist.

Just got back from the theater watching this movie and I gotta say that this new version is every bit as good or better than the original version. The father and son from this new version looks alot like the father and son from the original version, particularly the son. A must see movie.
I have to close my eyes at the cinema these days when the trailer is on as they give out so much from the film and when you finally watch the film you feel like you're watching the film a second time. Also some of these trailers are so long and they give out all the best bits of the film and it makes you think what's the point of watching the film. Because I've successfully closed my eyes whenever this trailer has come on the cinemas I should be able to enjoy this film when it comes out.

algerae1984 it was, probably cause it was one of the few decent horror movies these last couple years.
Be sure to see this in theatres folks. R rated horror films traditionally don't do well at the box office. The more of us that get out there and see it the more blockbuster horror films we'll have coming our way. Normally I'm not big on remakes but for Stephen King films im always stoked to see em.

The new movie was okay but I wish they would have stuck by the original story. The original movie was way better.
To each their own - I much preferred this one. But agreed the first followed book a bit closer.

scared to watch the pet sematary final trailer, not because it will scare me, rather - i'm worried it will some how manage to spoil even more of the film than the first trailer did..
