“Jeremy” official video uncensored, “Porch” live from Pinkpop ‘92, and “Black” live from MTV unplugged are all great songs/performances from Pearl Jam if you want to check out more. Great reaction!

I love this version because Mike McCready just jams on that acoustic guitar. This song was meant to be played electric and loud. All things considered, they did a good job, but checkout the official video for the real thing.

The studio version of this song would've been a better introduction. This was the song that exploded Pearl Jam onto everyone's radars.

The song is semi-autobiographical, yeah. Eddie Vedder, the lead singer, grew up thinking his stepdad was his father and his biological father was just a friend of the family. Only after his real father died was he told the truth. The rest of the song is just fiction and fits into a three song arc called "Mamma-Son trilogy". "Alive" is the first song, "Once" is the second, where the subject descends into madness, and the third is "Footsteps" where the protagonist is in prison on death row.

So the first part of the song is autobiographical; Eddie's mom told him his real father had died after he'd grown up thinking his stepdad was his real father and had met his real dad only a couple of times as a family friend. The next part of the song is fictional; it's a tale of incest and how that messes up the protagonist who can just say "I'm still alive" at the end of it all.

Greeting Sir! New subscriber here :) Today, I would LOVE to suggest a brand new song entitled "Dissociation", by the French Canadian Death Metal/Classical project named "Disorientation". This is a lyric video* Thank you for your attention and have a nice day ;)
