    Eddie Vedder, our baritone king of grunge. This hit me at 14, and it still hits as hard 33 years later. This performance, the album Ten, everything is impeccable. Perfection! No one should sound this good live!

    Loved the reaction, it either makes you feel it or not (and if doesn't at all I assume you're dead already, you just don't know it yet); sometimes there's no explanation other then the performer's kindness in sharing their raw emotions with us. Cheers from Portugal.

  • @kerrijohnson2303
    @kerrijohnson2303 Год назад +2

    Fun factoid..Right before they we’re supposed to film their unplugged set, Eddie became very sick with flu/upper respiratory infection..so sick he wasn’t sure he could sing and perform but decided to power through so he’s not even at 100% in this performance and he still hits it miles outta the park! Pearl Jam..the last band of the Seattle grunge scene that’s still original line up/still alive/still pumping out music as good today as they did back then. Pearl Jam would never have come together as they are now if Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone hadn’t died. So talented and so young when he died and I’m sure if he’d lived he and his band would have kicked off the explosion of music out of Seattle in the early 90’s but if he hadn’t died, Pearl Jam as we know them today would either never existed or if they had, I don’t think they would have been as good as they are. There’s a reason why these guys are still together and playing music after 30 years and be the sole remaining band of the grunge era. Super talented guys and Eddie has a voice that is filled with emotion. The songs are great because they mean something to him and the band. That meaning and emotion is almost unheard of in pop and rock today..

    If you're inclined, you can check out some of the videos that have been uploaded to youTube of their recent tour they just finished barely two days ago, as I input this 9/21/23, in Austin, TX. Sept. 18th & 19th, 2023! Started Aug.31,& Sept.2, '23, in St.Paul, MN. Sept.5, & 7, '23 in Chicago. A postponement Sept. 10, '23 unfortunately in Indianapolis- hoping you'll hear about a reschedule soon, for the disappointed fans. Then they made it for Sept 13, & the 15th in Ft.Worth, TX and Sept.18th, & 19th, 2023 in Austin, Texas, for the finale-
    as we live and breathe and await again a chance to see them LIVE while we're still alive...

    Absolutely great reaction, especially since you know the song so well. Their performance of Betterman in 2010 at MSG really shows how the crowd interacts with the band and how Eddie appreciates them so much. No one else ever asks for a reaction from his solo album The Earthing that he released in 2022, but the video of Invincibile that he collaborated with NASA is something else.
    Hang in there, my thoughts are with you and your familyl

    This is the first vid I watch of yours and I sincerely thank you for such great reaction. I've watched many first time reactions to this song and it's always amazing but it was even better watching this, knowing that you knew this song, you are a fan of the band and still made you emotional like that, loved it. I don't think you need to be an empath to feel like you did, I react the same every time I hear it, specially this version, seeing Eddie's whole body language, his facial expressions, he wasn't just singing the song he was re-living that moment. I remember another account that reacted to this said something like "if you look up the word 'Raw' it'll give you the main definition followed by a picture of this performance". It is one of the most powerful/emotional performances I've ever watched.
