Because Orm very well knew how far the chains would go. So he stood at the safe distance.
In Orm defence. In the Snydercut, Athur did throw an empty whiskey bottle into the sea, it may has hit a dolphin's head or a whale's blowhole

Don't get me wrong i'm not speaking of regular atlantean here, but the government in place at the time of the clip?
@@maulvath4832 calling him half breed? Lol have you seen what people call people just of different race here?
1) Well the atlantians didn't want any contact with surface dweller's but her mother goes and creates her own family there and that's the only ridiculous thing they did but it's understandable as the ocean thinks surface people are enemies and if you go to a enemy state when you're involved with politics of your own there are severe concequences and by judging their mideval ways of ruling that is also kind of justified coz those things happened in human history too but we developed later same would happen when Arthur takes the throne
And
2) it was just ocean master who wanted a war so he tricked into making atlanteans think that they were attacking them so you can call ocean master as bad guy coz other people didn't give a shit if people were living on land or not you cant say they're nazi
@@maulvath4832 and if you talking about govt.

Let’s remember the cameraman that held his breath long enough to get the shot.

Yoh 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
chad
He is an immortal
Reason why Orm dislike Arthur
- Made his mother sad
- Made his father sentenced his mother to death
- Arthur is half surface dweller
- Surface dweller pollute his home
- His teacher and advisor cheat him for Arthur
- His fiance also cheat on him
totally legit and understandable, its a solid reason 😂
MalornWS I’d legit like to know why though. What makes that version more sympathetic and relatable than the movie version glimpsed here?
MalornWS could you sound anymore like a virgin?
All things Arthur had no control of and was not directly responsible for , if anyone orm should be mad at its his mom , his brother did nothing against him
Reason why your points are invalid
-His father made his mother sad
-His father sentenced his mother to death
--Orms hate Arthur simply because he is half breed is ignorant and irrational
-The surface dwellers only pollute his home because they didn't get the advantage of tech and powers the people of Atlantis did, otherwise they'd be doing exactly the same.
-His teacher and advisor cheat him for Arthur because he is a genocidal nutcase.
-His fiance is only his fiance because it's forced like his mother was.
It's not legit nor is it understandable and it's not a solid reason.
BloodyFlowerFilms Well I love this version. But the Orm of the comics has a displayed a more morally grey nature than outright evil. But in the comics recently, as far as I know, Orm even helped save someone, he’s not a good guy, but he’s not entirely bad either. This Orm and his comic counterpart are very similar.
I REALLY love the smallest of details, like how the voice sounds muffled at the edges under water.
Damn, Aquaman REDEEMED DC !
Wonder Woman,Aquaman AND Shazam redeemed DC.
With the exception of Suicide Squad, Jonah Hex, and Green Lantern they had nothing to be redeemed for.
The dc didnt need redeeming 😐

So true
he is like thanos, he has a very good reason but tries by wrong means. if he had tried to solve the pollution problem by goinig to the surface world and discussing it, Arthur wouldn't have stopped him.
ok boomer
Arthur should do something about the pollution and stuff.
They are set to talk in the next film so they could expand on it.
Smh 🤦🏻♂️ instead of talking about a movie. This should be the concern in real life.
He will. He is the bridge between land and sea and can use his influence to do something without starting a war. This movie he unites Atlantis, hopefully next will see him clash with man trying to find a balance.
The Atlanteans are partially at fault. They could have made themselves known and use their advanced technology to find a solution. Instead they hid with their wealth and power and go to war instead.
@@foolslayer9416 Less at fault than the average human being.
That is a sick Throne Room, imagine Batman requesting help from Aquaman for his army (in some sort of war with Darkseid I don’t know) and he just stumbles upon this massive monstrosity that even he can’t afford.

I’m still shocked on how this film didn’t get nominated for best visual effects at the oscars.
Just from the flow of the hair in the water alone looks amazing.
I mean it’s unprecedented that a film has to do so many underwater effects....but at the same time I thought it was lackluster and seems I’m the only one who thought it looked more like a video game....just like how the villian in justice league looked super fake too....will like to see if they improve on it in the future.

Orm is not really a villain. He's more of an anti-villain.
Well, I think Orm and Ares were one of the few well written characters. They both have a huge convincing points.
@@Alexa-pc6ux True. And I have to admit Thanos too (I know it's not DC), since his motives were for the good of everyone in the universe.
An anti-hero would not have staged an attack that got Atlantean & Xebellion soldiers killed. Orm murdered his own people just to convince Nereus to join his cause. Hes a villain.
@@Brucehumphrey you're forgetting Killmonger (even though it ain't DC)
And this character is basically his inspiration
@@maxriggah299 Doesn't matter what he did to get the kingdoms of Atlantis, my whole point is that his motives actually benefit them. In other words, they were just trying to stop humans from polluting and destroying the ocean. Venom is an anti-hero as well. Meaning sometimes he's evil, or sometimes he's good. He has done a lot of bad things, and is still considered an anti-hero in the comics.
I love how Orm didn't actually hate Arthur and seems like accepted him, he even tries to convince him to join his side
The villain trying to have the hero join him. Oldest trick in the book.
He’s his last living relative (till they find out Atlanna is alive) so makes sense why he was conflicted on killing him. Neither want to fight the other but one wants war and the other doesn’t.
I never thought an aqua man villain would be one of my favorites. Absolutely loved ocean master in this, gonna go read some comics with him in it
Orm must be brave af. Man didnt flinch when arthur charged him
And he beat his ass until Arthur got a King Atlan power up thanks to his trident and armor too. Orm was a better character in my opinion.
@@TheStraightestWhitest I'm more surprised that orm didn't beat Arthur faster than he should've, considering how orm has trained MUCH longer than Arthur, so all things considered, Arthur did more than orm was expecting. I feel like orm went through more hard work but in the end Arthur just had more natural talent.

Patrick Wilson, probably the most overlooked actor in hollywood... Conjuring, Bone Tomahawk, Fargo, even his comedy action 'Stretch' was a fun watch...kudos to James Wan for realising his value 👍

We all have to respect how long it took Orm to look super shiny to intimidate Arthur.
During that scene when Orm enumerated the crimes of us surface dwellers, i kinda felt guilty about that, because its sadly true.

Orm is by fat the best villain in the DCEU. A very sympathetic villain and he is actually right in his criticism of the surface world.
Aquaman 2 needs to focus in some of the political tensions between Atlantis and the surface world and push Arthur to address the surface atrocities.
*By far the best villain in the DCEU
I agree 👍 Patrick Wilson was a wise choice for Orm, and Jason Momoa was an excellent choice for Aquaman.
“Call whatever you want, I call it an ass whoopin”
Whenever King Orm on scene, he stole my attention instead of Aquaman. This is great character with good reason why he's want to start a war. Im glad they didn't kill him.
Orm: *talks about his reason for war due to water pollution*
Me, an intellectual: _Blame the industrial revolution._
What would happen if Aquaman had these guards punished for electrocuting and knocking him out?
@CIA - Central Intelligence Agency yes but then hes not a good king for punishing them still. Previous orders or not they were still orders by their King

As far as I know, without a force feild, the whole place should have been electrocuted.
They were just obeying orders and doing their job
am i the only one who thinks orm was completely right? for me he was the hero of the movie (or anti hero)
He was right but he was wrong about how to go about fixing it.
He was the antagonist for sure, but he's not exactly a villain.
He has understandable, if not justified, motives, and it's clear that he's dedicated his life to his people. However, he is blinded by his self righteousness and his anger. He is not right to kill and lie his way into political alliances, nor start a war. But he is not a monster, and it is set up that he may be able to accept the error of his ways.
Victor Bastos He’s definitely the villain I always hate this Advance civilizations giving a shit when they have The literal solution! They have clean energy yet they refuse to share that information with us on how to obtained it. It’s like us going back in time to genocide cavemen because they are Overreliant on fire and that’s dangerous because it can burn down Forests. He’s absolutely the villain.
dave shoe exactly ... these silly dc movies trying to virtue signal and make the watchers feel bad when Hollywood does most of the polluting along with their best friend China ..
Literally while they were making the scene with all the toxic cgi barrels they probably just went behind the set they were filming on and looked in the dumpster .
Entertainment industry and all those greedy mega corps that went overseas for cheaper profits are the biggest ones to blame , not the average American just buying gas (who normally would never litter like myself).
And then they show whales being harpooned like holy shit the only countries who haven’t banned whaling is japan and China 😂🤣 good thing aqua man is clearly set in the 1950s
Saving the ocean and attacking the surface is just a cover of orm to rule over all kingdoms in ocean and on surface.
He definitely cares about the ocean as it's his home but he cares about the power more.
I'm literally watching this whole movie in random order in 5 min clips.
Orm is more of an anti-hero than Killmonger. Latter killed his own 'brothers' to carry out his mission and was driven by personal vendetta, but Orm's goal was safety of his brothers in the deep, and he still didn't want to kill his half-brother despite his personal reasons.
To think that he's disliked by his own brother for simply being half-blood
nope, its because he think that Authur is the reason why their mom died
Tf r u doing here?
Bro even here? Are you and your brother with the mustache omnipotent
That's not the only reason dumbo
Well, his mother was executed for having a half-blood child. Even if his hatred is severely misplaced, it is understandable
