reminds me of my own relationship with my father after he and my mother split and got divorced. because I went to live with him, it actually strengthen our relationship and we're closer than ever to this day.

Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones should have been the actor from that show to play Arthur. Jason Mamoa would make an excellent Lobo however (oh and if you wanna see just how really detestable New 52 is take a look at what they call "Lobo"

Every bit of this scene is so warm and wholesome, his relationship with his Dad who then shows such pride his Son is using his abilities for something positive and even though there is a slight tinge of disappointment when he rejects his heritage it doesn't stop him being supportive and he doesn't berate him. The at first what seemed to be "thugs" where just chuffed to meet him, then he shares a beer with them too with smiles all around.
I could listen to Temuera talk for hours. His voice is so iconic, loved hearing it in Aquaman, Moana and countless Star Wars projects
You should see him in Once Were Warriors. I have to admit, it’s not really an easy film to watch, but he’s really good in the film.

Idk I really like the synder justice league even though it's not cannon. But yea aquaman is my fav one out of all the canon dceu movies. Man of steel and ww was also pretty good.

I always had a soft spot for MoS, but I can never shake that sensation of it feeling just... wrong.

WW is amazing, except for when they royally fuck up the ending.
Aquaman is fun and charming, but doesn't feel like anything brand new.
Shazam honestly feels like a Marvel movie. I like it a lot, but still.
Haven't seen Birds of Prey.
And then there's ZSJL, a movie that's kind of slow, but it just kinda keeps getting better the longer it goes on. The characters are great. The humor is surprisingly funny in a natural way and never feels fprced or cringey (*squints at Josstice League*), the visuals, while muted a lot of the time, are pretty cool and I've watched that one Flash scene during the climax of the movie (you know the one) about 29 times now and it still doesn't cease to amaze me.

@@ashebull123 i think his screentime even though it was shorter was just as important as the rest of the team. showing how important is to have a supporting dad when your mother is not around anymore. look at how immensely angry he was when silas died. at the end of the movie he said something like i'm gonna see my dad. which is basically where this scene in aquaman starts.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. This whole movie just destroys cliches and expectations. The cliche of bikers or thugs picking a fight with someone with superpowers and the expectation of the hero easily beating them up is changed to a bunch of tough looking bikers wanting a photo because they’re fans of his. We see Aquaman feeling a bit awkward then being like, fuck it whatever and just starts having a good time and drinking with them. It’s honestly very wholesome and non toxic masculinity.

0:35 I read somewhere that when Jason and Temeura hugged during this scene, they touched noses which in Polynesian culture is called the "Hongi", a traditional greeting. They both did it because they wanted to honor their Polynesian and Hawaiian heritage on the big screen.
When you press noses, you share breath, and breath is the essence of life.
Māori greet each other with “Kia Ora”, which pretty much is an acknowledgement of life.
So a hongi is a celebration of life through connection and unity.
This is exactly where he was left off in his Snyder Cut ending. James Wan respecting Zack is something I will never forget.
I love that. The only thing I would nitpick and bothers me tbh is how all of Atlantis suddenly changed their clothes. Other than that I think it fits or can fit.
@@the3king3lion well in case of ZSJL we weren't shown the entirety of Atlantis. So what if the clothing that we saw in Snyder Cut was for the guards posted in the outpost, regarding Mera and Vulko having a different attires, I guess its similar to how we have different clothes.

I really like the idea of having the ability to breathe not only on land but also in water. It's one of those abilities one will definitely take. It only makes me think, though. That I would smell like sea water and fish when I emerge from the deep waters like Aquaman and Namor, still really cool, though.
