@@jeremydale4548 Willem Dafoe played Norman Osborn in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies long before the MCU was a thing. And he plays Vulko, Aquaman's teacher, in Justice League and the Aquaman film.

I honestly appreciated that Atlanna showed love for both of her sons. She never had anything against Orm, it was just something between her and Orm's father that was the issue. Orm backing down knowing she's alive was a nice touch because the assumption of her death for having Arthur was also the crux of his resentment towards the surface world. Doesn’t excuse his actions but he has a bit of a realization there.
It sucks that Atlanna was forced to abandon the man she loved and their child for an unwanted marriage but if she ever took it on Orm (who didn’t ask to be born) would’ve made her despicable and in a way would’ve justified Orm’s rage.
So yeah, it’s good she showed motherly love to Orm, otherwise it probably wouldn’t have mattered to him that she was still alive.
That was the cherry on top
I think that moment Orm had a moment of self reflection when he saw his mother for the first time in 20 years from the day his father found out Arthur existed he filled ORM’s head with hatred and resentment about both Arthur and the surface world because he was angry with Atlanta
Orm is the atlantean equivalent of a super-soldier who found out he was conceived to fulfill a heavily narcissistic agenda and ends up developing an inferiority complex as a result.

The fights in this movie are so underrated, everything is choreographed so well. No flashy or unnecessary cuts, the camera angles are perfect and the takes are long and easy to follow.
Was this an end credit? I’ve never seen this before.

Half Greek ( or Atlantean but still same culture and people) half Polynesian all sea person. Both Pacific islanders and Hawaiians and Greek/Mediterranean people were sea peoples with awesome culture and Pantheons . I find it amazing and interesting actually ,two amazing cultures ,sea cultures

I was honestly surprised at how one sided this fight was usually the hero and villain are evenly matched but Aquaman was kicking ass the whole fight

The cool part is that when they were fighting underwater, Orm had the edge. As soon as they go above water, they’re fighting on Arthur’s turf
I mean that's the point of the fight. first it was orm kicking ass cuz underwater now arthur's kicking ass cuz above water.
In the beginning of this fight Orm was actually dominating. But Arthur then took over. Orm is a better fighter underwater. But on the surface Arthur has the edge
That scene was so epic and unique. Jason Momoa did a really good job when he plays Aquaman. No one like him cant play Aquaman better. Respect for that fantastic fight scene 👊👊👏

Patrick Wilson did a great job in this movie, can’t wait to see him in the sequel, especially the buddy adventure dynamic between him and Jason Mamoa

Orm spent the whole movie dissing his mother. But the moment he sees her, he breaks down. Shows that he never could hate her or see her as flawed like his father did.

Yeah, you get hints that he genuinely loved his mother when he said that it's all Arthur's fault that she's dead. In some way, his hatred for the surface world is because of how his mother was killed for being with a surface dweller and thus killed in punishment for it.
@@0axis771 Personally that's one of the reasons I didn't like that part of the movie. We get "hints" of him not totally hating his mother but i feel like it's not enough to justify his complete total 180 reversal I'm how he feels. Overall movie was fantastic just wish they made his relationship with her more complex.

if you ever actually landed like that you would shatter your kneecap and leg. More realistic to roll as you land, aquaman got it right. Fuck ocean bitch.
I just love the contrast between Orm smugly breaking Atlanna's trident and Arthur's absolute devastation that 1) he lost the fight but 2) he broke his mother's trident in doing so (possibly the only physical thing he had left of her) and then in this battle he absolutely shatters Orvax's trident wielded by Orm which in turn shows Orm how Arthur felt in that very same moment - also a nice metaphor for showing Orm that the way Orvax ruled Atlantis was not necessarily right and that his father (and therefore he himself) was/is not indestructible...idk I just love this movie
I always figured that it was representative of Atlanna and Orvax's different views on the surface world or something like that. Atlanna's trident was a clean break (even if it was weaker, it held together much better), whereas Orvax's trident was completely wrecked (while it was stronger, when it fell apart, it FELL APART).
I dunno, I'm not well-versed in Aquaman lore.
@@plasmusdogmatic4348 It symbolizes that as well in that Arthur kept fighting when his broke. Sure, it was a downside in some ways, but it gave him two weaker weapons rather than one stronger one for a bit. Conversely, there's no fighting with the bits left of Orm's weapon. He only got one fall, and fell hard in return, whereas Arthur takes a loss and keeps moving forward. A clean break can be repaired, even if the result may be somewhat weaker than what once was. But piecing together a shattered item is never going to give you back the whole - pieces will always be lost.
The Tridents can be reforged so it's fine. I just hate how they made them break light lightbulbs

I like how they made Ocean Master into his comicbook counterpart, as well as humanizing him even greater than the Comics Code Authority allowed writers to.
I honestly hope that this version of Aquaman and Ocean Master can somehow forge a lasting sibling bromance of sorts like the MCU's Thor and Loki. They definitely gave this iteration of Orm a conscience over many others that portray him as a darker figure who descends into a broken psychopath. The fact he chose to live and yield the throne over honoring his warrior spirit and dying for it as he truly desired simply because of his love for his mother speaks greatly for his character, and its potential in future works.
They already switched it up so Atlantis still tries to go to war with the surface, but not having Atlana die at Orm's hands beforehand. So it seems pretty likely.
That's all I want to see in the sequel. Orm Learnign the joys of sibling hood

Man seeing the visuals in theatres was a treat , plus the comic accurate suits that could have looked bad but ended up looking badass.
Absolutely beautiful the style , the energy , the environment it felt heavy and superhuman I loved this fight
This made me realise how freakin sick an open world and narrative driven Aquaman game would be

So whenever you wanna continue story mode you go to Vulko or Mera, and for quests you go to the big guy in the bar

Aquaman was a visiual masterpiece and you all must watch the full behind the scenes documentary and see how much hard work went into it , james wan is brilliant he used too much practical effects , practical suits and built real locations and mix all this with high quality cgi .

James Wan is so versatile it's incredible. Loved all his horror films and now this.
What got me most, and gave me chills was the pride on his uncle's face when he remembered what he was taught.
The fact that his ma really took the time to take a shower and change and shine her crown, whILE HER SONS WERE FATALY WARRING WITH EACHOTHER
She had to allow Arthus prove that he is the one true king. Otherwise, there was no way people would accept Arthur.

This fight choreography is actually pretty good. So many movies go for the dramatic sword fight. Having the final showdown happen with polearms is a pretty nice change of pace.
It was a really nice change of pace...and then they did that stupid CG twirling thing which kinda ruined it for me. Bear in mind though that this is coming from someone who trained as a drum major and was on flag team, so I'm probably a bit biased.

London trial was about Depp vs Sun which was kind of easier to lose due to the fact that Sun, in terms of law, cannot be blamed for the story that Amber Turd made up and they just shared it. In order to win in the court, Depp's team needed to prove that the Sun knew that Amber's story was fake

I love watching this movie knowing these actors totally grew up watching the OG He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and OG Justice League Cartoons, and they must be reliving childhood reenactments. Also, if whoever directed Aquaman makes a new live action He-Man and Masters of the Universe movie including She-Ra this time, a lot of us would be happy.

I actually likes this movie. There are no "bad guys" except black manta. Orm isn't really bad, he just wants to look out for the ocean and water and consequently, the entire world. His general, mera's faster doesn't continue his attack after seeing the trident arthur wields
I love to see Ocean Master's redemption arc in the Lost Kingdom :)
I love that they turned one of the worst Justice League members into an absolute badass in every way. In terms of music, the suit, his origin story. This is the best DC film.

Patrick Wilson has such a baby face....man I remember him in the Alamo (2004), and Phantom of the Opera (2005). He is actually 6 years older than Jason Momoa (42). I find it a bit funny that Wilson plays the younger brother Orm and Momoa as the older brother, Arthur..... when Wilson is older than Momoa. To be honest both look so much younger than they actually are....its so crazy :D

I think both , Man Of Steel showed some great Pa Kent moments , Aquaman showed his dad waiting for his mom after all these years.
