This should be essential. The datasheet continuous discharge current is often a bit optimistic and I've found Battery Mooch does an excellent job giving realistic discharge rates on cells. His Patreon is only $2 a month and worth every cent. He's doing cycle life of Molicel P45B/P50B/Samsung 50S under intense 5-6A charge 25A-30A discharge conditions and its really interesting. All I can say is while the P45B is a great cell the P50B looks to be AMAZING and the Samsung 50S definitely USED to be a good cell for those that needed more than 4-4.5Ah but didn't need the full 20-25A discharge and could settle for 10A to 15A where a lot of 5Ah 21700's just can't handle that....still the 50S gets way too hot. The Molicel P50B is just out of this world if the production cells are anything like the pre production cells he has.
We have few months testing behind us and these battery configurations are killer! Very small voltage sag, very robust torque, don’t heat up as much, perfectly balanced the whole time when charging or discharging with high current. So far looks like a good formula for long term high current use!

Except that on regular bikes there is a reason the riders seat height so high, (mostly engine and frame constraints) on this bike that's not necessary. Lowered center of gravity means better handling. You could also build a chopper out of one of these, and I'm sure they would sell !
All the big companies spend millions on R&D. Here you are a one-man band knocking it out of the park. I'm a big believer that what you are doing is the future. Ladi, you are the best.
To stop the pipe from deforming you should fill the pipe with sand. First bung one end of the pipe with some cloth, i use old overalls, just cut them into small pieces then make a ball slightly larger than the bore of the pipe. Then jam the bung into one end, i use a file with the handle taken off, then with dry sand fill the pipe to the brim. Then with a nylon mallet tap the pipe until the sand compacts and the level of the will fall, repeat until you cant get anymore sand into the pipe. then bung the end of the pipe ensuring you get the bung nice and tight, then when you bend the pipe it will almost be like you are bending solid bar. When you are finished bending pull the bungs out and empty out the sand. If you are still getting a little bit of deformation bend the pipe slightly past the angle you want, then secure one end of the pipe in a vice that is attached to a table that is fixed to the floor. Then get a piece of pipe that fits over the tube you are working with to use as a lever, then pull the bend out to the angle you desire. This will pull out some of the deformation, but be careful not to do too much or the tube will deform the other way. Trust me im a pipefitter that has been bending pipe for over 30 years. And if you have the money, buy a bending machine with a mandrel, that goes inside the pipe that prevents deformation. Happy bending.😊
@@user-neo71665 yes you can freeze water in pipe but it's generally used on small bore pipe, this technique is used when bending brass instruments like trumpets. But it's quite hard to freeze a 6 meter length of 6 inch pipe, you would need a very big freezer. 🙂
Without fenders and longer seat and taillight and head light I won't touch that bike. I have Electric scooters .I ride electric scooter everyday to go to work and back home

@@ladiandmargaretthat's all fine but you can't attach a rear fender off the back of the seat , which limits you to some fender barely above the tire. it will kill the motocross look. that seat is ridiculous . make something with some padding. I like less is more, but you went so minimal it looks incomplete.
You're so detailed and pragmatic in the process of developing everything you do. The amount research you must have done prior to building must be crazy 😅 I think you found a hole in the market with this one. Electric motorcycle made for taller pople - brilliant!
Pretty Cool 👍 The space under the seat could be converted into a locking 🔒 storage compartment. Also a removable 🔩 bolt on rear rack could be made & bolted on. To support saddlebags or triple bag storage set. If I had the money to buy one, I'd want some storage ootions,like mentioned above, probably a longer seat & also pedals on it for #1 more stealth to blend in as a bicycle & #2 For the ability to pedal in the event of a breakdown. I'm not at all criticizing the build. Just offering some ideas. I really do like the idea 💡 of a metal locking storage compartment under the seat. Have a tough hinge on 1 side & door cover plate. Oh duh 🤪 I started commenting before watching the end of video about the storage compartment idea 💡
Hi Ladi! I've been watching you since you started and I really love how you're progressing. I love and support this e-Moto build. Here are the things I would suggest for this specific model: 1. Longer seat 2. Supermoto street tires 3. A modular storage box under the seat which could be used for a lot of things, or an additional modular battery pack in case of emergency. 4. Some signal lights and a headlight would be needed too. I'm rooting for you! Keep up the great work! I hope I can get a unit soon to show my support for your campaign.
I like the idea of the additional modular battery pack. There's so much space that you could easily double the capacity of the current battery and extend the range even further.
Great to see you're not just simply outsourcing it all, if any, to China but rather using local Czechs to do the work. Czechia has great artisans as well as world class steel production, high tech engineering and electronics so I'm not surprised you're doing so well with this venture. I hope you get this great design to the point where you get a saleable and price competitive product.

Yes and no, in the racing and frame building industry it is argued about. Yes powder coating is amazing protection but the layer it forms on the outside can hide any cracks that may form in the metal. I think builders preference based on amount of abuse frame will take.
My wife does too, but handlebars are a problem with no hands. Btw no feet either and prosthetic legs which suck off road. Power wheelchair works fine often but gets stuck on 1.5 inch roots.
Seriously smart design! Absolutely the right approach with form following function. And it looks great too. The only thing I’d like to see is big motorcycle shocks (48mm) full size swingarm and Brembro brake calipers with 320mm or bigger discs. Basically full-size motorcycle components. This bike could definitely handle it!
It’s not motocross category so I won’t be installing motocross shocks. These brakes are poisonous sharp, no need to change at this point. We currently have installed 21 and 18 wheels.

Well done, young man! Your approach is thinking outside of the box to create a new thought box and show the m.c. community a better way to go electric. the only thing I'd change is to a wider ,more comfortable seat with a lower seat height, I'm a senior citizen, so....👍
One thing i love about your design is you could easily double the battery if desired. In addition, one thing i would love to see in ebikes/motorcycles is more hubcenter steering.
being 6"6' I do wish more manufacturer's would cater for us tall guys, as even though my bomber clone is a big bike I've still had to make custom parts to make it fit me more
It comes down to weight. The bigger, heavier and faster they become, the less road legal they are in most place. At one point you might as well just buy a motorcycle.

By changing the design of the seat frame, I bet you could fit locking helmet storage underneath the seat. 5. Headlights and brake lights. 6. Multiple foot peg mounting points.
You make some awesome creations. This is no exception. I’d incorporate a longer seat option, motor, battery & controller cooling. Technology is advancing to now incorporate mechanical gears & ABS. I say this, because in addition to pioneering a new design framework, you may as well pioneer what is truly capable given our knowledge & tools of today’s time. Thank, the battery is overkill and the motor as well. So far we did not even reach temperature close to overheating or causing any issues. We have few ideas for ventilation but I hope we can avoid extra complications and components prone to failure.
I like that the battery is in the lower part of the frame giving you a lower center of gravity for cornering however all that empty space underneath the seat could easily be an extra 50 to 70 miles of range making it a better daily commuter or longer rides but regardless of my opinion it's a beautiful creation that I wish was more my size because I'm only 5'7" but I do need to know what is the final cost?

main color gloss black with larger trim areas in bright gloss red. small hints of standard matte twill carbon fiber everywhere. finally, add tiny amounts of shiny gold trimming down any corners & straight lines. any exposed wiring cover it with "teck flex" red or black with black heat shrink at each end of wire to secure it proper. could market this color combo as a special edition. no chrome, anything that would noramlly be chrome try to make it gold. trust me on this. it has been my go to color combo for my personal custom hobby builds. amazing work & what a awesome looking bike. good luck!
As a moto lifer (of almost 60 yrs)here in SO CAL, Baja, Desert, MX & 35yrs around the MTB industry & huge lover of the E industry. I can say (you're on to something). (As a suspension guy) it was interesting seeing you figure out the shock needed to be vertical, just like on a motorcycle. A long seat, some fenders and you're done. Love the storage space. Better than panniers hanging off the bike.

honestly the fact that the surron is tiny. is what made them popular. larger and heavier bikes exist but do not give the same confidence. if you really wanted size. you should have gotten the ultra bee or even the storm bee and your 'issue' is fixed. as the storm bee seat height is larger then most gasoline bikes.
Hi! Love your content :D I worked as a laser machine operator for 6 years. And I noticed you cutting in a strange order. Always do all the internal cutting first and use one cutting profile for that. Then cut out the frame. This is because the holes will not be precisely located if the part drops down onto the support grid (what we call them). Have a second cutting profile linked to the outer contour so when you fine-adjust the diameters of holes, you don't mess with the body. Hope you understand what I tried to explain :D
I would buy one immediately if the optional painted components had a nice anaglyph design and paint job. Also if you implemented camo designs or even just earthy tone colours and shades to fit the sustainable approach (because it’s all electric) you will be tapping into a huge environmentally friendly market and audience 👏 needless to say i will support this kickstarter project and keep my eyes peeled for an opportunity to purchase my own bike well done! and thank you!
Make some "hard points" around the bike so customers can fit extras to style it as anything between moto cross, super motard, cafe racer or road racer by just bolting on different seat unit, fairing and clip ons ... Great project! Love it!
Looks great Ladi, I got the plans to build the Cyberbike, and began sourcing components but I was at a dead end when I tried sourcing a battery and charger. I live in the US where we have weak 120v single phase residential power. I've even tried to get a local lithium battery manufacturer to build it, but they were not exactly willing to do it. So, I am at the end of my patience trying to get the bike built. Its been almost 2 years and I have since bought another bike to ride in the mean time. Honestly, If I knew more about building a battery, I would do it myself. I just dont know enough to build it myself. Perhaps if I had a diagram of the battery cell layout and where to spot weld the nickel strips I might just do that. But as of now, i have given up.

It looks great!!! Maybe a color combination between black and red. And maybe some "post-apocalyptic" color scheme, with some patches of made-up rust because this bike fits the theme, in my opinion. Regarding the storage, maybe you want to back up the magnets with some Velcro straps at least from underneath. And maybe the seat should be a bit cushier. Otherwise, it's great and you are right! It doesn't resemble anything out there! Good luck with mass production. I would love to see this project turned into the next big thing in the e-moto world.
Great bike!... Just a couple of ideas... Mount the motor on the swingarm centered as close as practical to the pivot point (to minimize effect on unsprung weight) and you'll never go back to frame mounted. Also, accept the weight cost of 1-2kg and source motors in the 20-40rpm/volt range for a truly silent ride (even with chain drive) instead of the annoying electric chainsaw buzz that I don't understand how anyone finds acceptable.
I think the best colour scheme for this would be something that scream "sci-fi", I would use the movies "Wall-E", "Oblivion" and "Moon" for inspiration. That is, mostly near-pure white, mid-dark grey and near-black. Also, will there be an LFP option for the battery? I know it would result in less range, but I think the increased number of charges that LFP can endure compared to lithium-ion is a serious advantage in the long term.
@@ladiandmargaret Maybe have three colours choices? The Oblivion/Moon (white, grey and black), The Fifth Element (I would use Corbin's taxi colours) and Blade Runner (dark like the police cars).
Seat frame should be easly collapsible for easier transport. Just change tubes geometry and put quick connector to the main body. Also, normal qube/square cargo space is much more practical than overcomplicated weird magnetic box. Just a platform or place for a box is much more DIY compatible and more universal solution.
A monobloc seat would be pleasant instead of tubes. Otherwise great design. Finally someone who doesn't reproduce the old bike design. Well done @@ladiandmargaret
Wow very Cool Love the design, maybe have a design contests so people can enter in different color combinations and you can get customer input for it what they would like something like. A downloadable PDF showing the different profiles of the bike and then You can put your own graphics make it all custom. I want one..

Anecdote related to your intro: I bought a Yamaha motorcycle from this young guy down in Norfolk, England. He’d used brochure pics but also some actual images of his bike. It was a lovely looking thing, cannot recall the name but it was famously equipped with a very stubby exhaust as standard and had a 600cc version. There was no sense of scale however. And literally once I got it, I realised it was 20% smaller all around than I imagined. Tiny. Lovely bike to ride, operated as a single does. So I sympathise.

What do you mean by cell selection? Of course we select the right cells in the first stage of the battery build. I don’t like moisture inside of the battery pack. I go different route which is not maxing out specs of the battery pack. In that case it does not have to be cooled.
There's sufficient empty space under that seat to install, for instance, twice as much battery, or a battery of similar capacity but a lower cost, less power-dense formulation like LiFePo4.
So cool! I was hoping it was going to be belt driven instead of a chain, but oh well. Really going to be interested, now that the prototype is done, to see how building the second one goes!
Great project ! I have a 15 Kw e-bike with 3.5 Kw/h battery capacity and I can make some informed observations. I posted a video with me a few days ago and I recorded some more today and will post soon. I did over 1000 Km on this bike off-road, in the forest, in mud. 1. The engine needs a shield because that`s the impact spot every time you pass over a tree or rock. 2. The controller radiator is located in the exact spot where all the small tree branches that fly under the front wheel hit and also were all the mud builds up (just did 35 Km in the forest today and I can tell you I had over 1 kg of mud in that exact spot in less than 15 km) 3. The body of the bike has to be of plastic with crumple space so when you crash the plastic will absorb the impact before the metal case is crushing your bones. 4. Ditch that seat frame and make a classical triangle in between the fork, engine and seat and make the seat double for 2 people and maximize a storage space underneath so you don t have to carry a backpack with cloths, tools, snacks, water, survival emergency kit, medical kit. If the bike tail is not over all the back wheel the mud will fly on the back of your head. 5. You have to be able to hold tight the bike with your legs/knees in standing up and on the seat position to stabilize it in ruff terrain and also to put less stress on your arms so you have better endurance. 6. Make it waterproof !!! If you address these points I will absolutely sell mine and get one from you. Success !

I don’t know how you imagine body from plastic. 4. I disagree. Storage will be made as soon as we figure out the most important mechanics. I don’t think these bikes are supposed to be for two people. 5. I agree. The current design is very good for holding the frame with legs when standing up. 6. I agree, it’s designed to be waterproof obviously. Let me know when you are ready to order.
Thanks for considering my ideas. I want to see the final design before I order because I really love what you guys do and I like a lot this specific design apart from the seat frame and ergonomics. In the current state I would order it but then have to ditch the seat frame and pay someone else to build a double seat with as big as possible storage space underneath and have to mold some how a plastic body which is pretty expensive as a one of. I will closely watch the future details on this project and I already put for sale my ebike and a truck so funds will be available by the time you get closer to a final design. Another thing it would be interesting to look in to is to see if it's possible for the inbuilt charger to be compatible with a small petrol generator. For example I have a small 4 stroke generator that makes 800 W/h but my charger is 840 W/h and the generator cuts as soon as I connect the charger. So it would be awesome if you could select a few power levels that the charger is requiring. This feature is also a safety feature as Lithium batteries degrade over time and some might wish to charge them slower especially if they live in a very hot region.
I'm an 'old school' biker, harleys, triumphs, etc....BUT......You're a genius dude, really...... The platform idea is brilliant...... One seat for scrambling and another for cruising. Question.... Why not make a convertible seat system? Anyway..... Well done..... Very impressed!

I love this and i would do this . 1 put a longer seat 2 put the wires in the box so you can't see them . 3 why not do a national flag colour ? Like red seat green baterry and red swing arm
For Offroading, its important to be able to grip the bike with your legs, I thnk some more body panels on the sides so limbs don't get caught if you go down, and some padding so you can have the ability to pinch the bike while standing. Probably easy mods if someone were to purchase too.

For the production model, you're obviously going to want fenders. Also, would getting mud caked onto the fins of the controller module be a problem. Cause with that sticking out of the bottom of the battery box it's going to happen. You'd probably also want to extend the seat. There will be times when riders want to duck down a bit and that usually involves sliding your butt back on the seat so your throat isn't right over the handlebars. (passing cars on a road or trails with low hanging branches would be 2 examples) Other than minor details that's a VERY nice bike you've built. Like a couple of other people have suggested, powder coating would be the way to go. It's very durable and looks good. I'd go with a bright color contrast. Black/yellow or Black orange so it gets noticed and talked about. (more sales) Maybe black for the frame and yellow or orange for the seat frame, fenders, and a nice bright graphic for the sides of the battery box.
I think its a great design. I'm glad to see some other frame ideas out there. Personally I would have gone with larger tires. I prefer a 21" front 18" rear. The parts look very similar to current Surron's out there you might consider just selling the frame and battery back as an upgrade kit for those bikes. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who bought a surron and wish it was just a little larger. Less pit bike and more motorcycle. I could also see a version of the sub frame be adjustable height so it could accommodate more riders.

When bending tube past I believe it's 30° you need to weld the tube shut on both ends and fill it with pressurized air add a minimum but a Newtonian based fluid would be best when using Newtonian based fluids though you must leave 1/10 of whatever space it is empty as Newtonian based fluids are noncompressible so it would cause the pipe to rupture as you bend it if you overfill it but if you feel it just right you can bend any pipe you can make a complete circle without putting a kink in it

Just use a mandrel. no time to mess around with sand/ice when it goes into production.

Without fenders and longer seat and taillight and head light I won't touch that bike. I have Electric scooters .I ride electric scooter everyday to go to work and back home
The finished product will ship with fenders, lights, longer seat. We work as fast as we can to make it all happen.
@@ladiandmargaretthat's all fine but you can't attach a rear fender off the back of the seat , which limits you to some fender barely above the tire. it will kill the motocross look. that seat is ridiculous . make something with some padding. I like less is more, but you went so minimal it looks incomplete.
I was not planning on attaching the fender to the seat. Seat does not have finished cushioning.

Pretty Cool 👍 The space under the seat could be converted into a locking 🔒 storage compartment. Also a removable 🔩 bolt on rear rack could be made & bolted on. To support saddlebags or triple bag storage set.
If I had the money to buy one, I'd want some storage ootions,like mentioned above, probably a longer seat & also pedals on it for #1 more stealth to blend in as a bicycle & #2 For the ability to pedal in the event of a breakdown.

I really do like the idea 💡 of a metal locking storage compartment under the seat. Have a tough hinge on 1 side & door cover plate.

Hi Ladi! I've been watching you since you started and I really love how you're progressing. I love and support this e-Moto build.
Here are the things I would suggest for this specific model:
1. Longer seat
2. Supermoto street tires
3. A modular storage box under the seat which could be used for a lot of things, or an additional modular battery pack in case of emergency.
4. Some signal lights and a headlight would be needed too.
I'm rooting for you! Keep up the great work! I hope I can get a unit soon to show my support for your campaign.

I like the idea of the additional modular battery pack. There's so much space that you could easily double the capacity of the current battery and extend the range even further.

Czechia has great artisans as well as world class steel production, high tech engineering and electronics so I'm not surprised you're doing so well with this venture.

Fit a hugger to stop stones hitting your back. Fit a chain guard incase it snapped. Lower seat slightly and make it bigger, be surprised how many people have short legs and like comfort!

You dont paint it, you powder coat it when its done.
Yes and no, in the racing and frame building industry it is argued about. Yes powder coating is amazing protection but the layer it forms on the outside can hide any cracks that may form in the metal. I think builders preference based on amount of abuse frame will take.
In my experience any cracks in welding joints show in the powder coat.

My wife does too, but handlebars are a problem with no hands. Btw no feet either and prosthetic legs which suck off road. Power wheelchair works fine often but gets stuck on 1.5 inch roots.
Seriously smart design! Absolutely the right approach with form following function. And it looks great too. The only thing I’d like to see is big motorcycle shocks (48mm) full size swingarm and Brembro brake calipers with 320mm or bigger discs. Basically full-size motorcycle components. This bike could definitely handle it!

It’s not motocross category so I won’t be installing motocross shocks. These brakes are poisonous sharp, no need to change at this point. We currently have installed 21 and 18 wheels.

being 6"6' I do wish more manufacturer's would cater for us tall guys, as even though my bomber clone is a big bike I've still had to make custom parts to make it fit me more
It comes down to weight. The bigger, heavier and faster they become, the less road legal they are in most place. At one point you might as well just buy a motorcycle.

Thank, the battery is overkill and the motor as well. So far we did not even reach temperature close to overheating or causing any issues. We have few ideas for ventilation but I hope we can avoid extra complications and components prone to failure.
I like that the battery is in the lower part of the frame giving you a lower center of gravity for cornering however all that empty space underneath the seat could easily be an extra 50 to 70 miles of range making it a better daily commuter or longer rides but regardless of my opinion it's a beautiful creation that I wish was more my size because I'm only 5'7" but I do need to know what is the final cost?

main color gloss black with larger trim areas in bright gloss red. small hints of standard matte twill carbon fiber everywhere. finally, add tiny amounts of shiny gold trimming down any corners & straight lines. any exposed wiring cover it with "teck flex" red or black with black heat shrink at each end of wire to secure it proper. could market this color combo as a special edition. no chrome, anything that would noramlly be chrome try to make it gold. trust me on this. it has been my go to color combo for my personal custom hobby builds. amazing work & what a awesome looking bike. good luck!
As a moto lifer (of almost 60 yrs)here in SO CAL, Baja, Desert, MX & 35yrs around the MTB industry & huge lover of the E industry. I can say (you're on to something). (As a suspension guy) it was interesting seeing you figure out the shock needed to be vertical, just like on a motorcycle. A long seat, some fenders and you're done. Love the storage space. Better than panniers hanging off the bike.

honestly the fact that the surron is tiny. is what made them popular. larger and heavier bikes exist but do not give the same confidence.
if you really wanted size. you should have gotten the ultra bee or even the storm bee and your 'issue' is fixed. as the storm bee seat height is larger then most gasoline bikes.

I worked as a laser machine operator for 6 years. And I noticed you cutting in a strange order. Always do all the internal cutting first and use one cutting profile for that. Then cut out the frame. This is because the holes will not be precisely located if the part drops down onto the support grid (what we call them). Have a second cutting profile linked to the outer contour so when you fine-adjust the diameters of holes, you don't mess with the body. Hope you understand what I tried to explain :D

Make some "hard points" around the bike so customers can fit extras to style it as anything between moto cross, super motard, cafe racer or road racer by just bolting on different seat unit, fairing and clip ons ... Great project! Love it!

Looks great Ladi, I got the plans to build the Cyberbike, and began sourcing components but I was at a dead end when I tried sourcing a battery and charger. I live in the US where we have weak 120v single phase residential power. I've even tried to get a local lithium battery manufacturer to build it, but they were not exactly willing to do it. So, I am at the end of my patience trying to get the bike built. Its been almost 2 years and I have since bought another bike to ride in the mean time. Honestly, If I knew more about building a battery, I would do it myself. I just dont know enough to build it myself. Perhaps if I had a diagram of the battery cell layout and where to spot weld the nickel strips I might just do that. But as of now, i have given up.
We ship batteries to the states. Our chargers work on 120v grid as well, just charge half the speed.
That is a great build man love the bike, posted last before end haha, I wouldn't mind a cyberbike in Canada, also Molle style storage options could be cool. Color scheme I'd say neon electric blue, gunmetal Grey, and Whyte accents would give the cyber to the bike. Best wishes

It looks great!!! Maybe a color combination between black and red. And maybe some "post-apocalyptic" color scheme, with some patches of made-up rust because this bike fits the theme, in my opinion. Regarding the storage, maybe you want to back up the magnets with some Velcro straps at least from underneath. And maybe the seat should be a bit cushier. Otherwise, it's great and you are right! It doesn't resemble anything out there! Good luck with mass production. I would love to see this project turned into the next big thing in the e-moto world.

Great bike!... Just a couple of ideas... Mount the motor on the swingarm centered as close as practical to the pivot point (to minimize effect on unsprung weight) and you'll never go back to frame mounted. Also, accept the weight cost of 1-2kg and source motors in the 20-40rpm/volt range for a truly silent ride (even with chain drive) instead of the annoying electric chainsaw buzz that I don't understand how anyone finds acceptable.

I think the best colour scheme for this would be something that scream "sci-fi", I would use the movies "Wall-E", "Oblivion" and "Moon" for inspiration. That is, mostly near-pure white, mid-dark grey and near-black.
Also, will there be an LFP option for the battery? I know it would result in less range, but I think the increased number of charges that LFP can endure compared to lithium-ion is a serious advantage in the long term.

Nice work, we used to bend tubes by inserting a spring to stop kinking. A laser welder might speed you up while giving good results.
Seat frame should be easly collapsible for easier transport. Just change tubes geometry and put quick connector to the main body. Also, normal qube/square cargo space is much more practical than overcomplicated weird magnetic box. Just a platform or place for a box is much more DIY compatible and more universal solution.

The seat post is held on 4 bolts, i think it’s easy enough to take apart.

A downloadable PDF showing the different profiles of the bike and then You can put your own graphics make it all custom. I want one..

My suggestion would be build a moto edition if you haven’t already. Maybe beef up the suspension & add a rear fender. Something comparable to stark varg but not 14k

Anecdote related to your intro: I bought a Yamaha motorcycle from this young guy down in Norfolk, England. He’d used brochure pics but also some actual images of his bike. It was a lovely looking thing, cannot recall the name but it was famously equipped with a very stubby exhaust as standard and had a 600cc version. There was no sense of scale however. And literally once I got it, I realised it was 20% smaller all around than I imagined. Tiny. Lovely bike to ride, operated as a single does. So I sympathise.

That battery pack is nuts! Maybe do some engineering on air flow cooling, cell selection, etc to refine that monster a bit.
What do you mean by cell selection? Of course we select the right cells in the first stage of the battery build. I don’t like moisture inside of the battery pack. I go different route which is not maxing out specs of the battery pack. In that case it does not have to be cooled.

There's sufficient empty space under that seat to install, for instance, twice as much battery, or a battery of similar capacity but a lower cost, less power-dense formulation like LiFePo4.
The battery is already oversized considering on board fast charger. Cargo space will be the best.

Great project ! I have a 15 Kw e-bike with 3.5 Kw/h battery capacity and I can make some informed observations. I posted a video with me a few days ago and I recorded some more today and will post soon. I did over 1000 Km on this bike off-road, in the forest, in mud.
1. The engine needs a shield because that`s the impact spot every time you pass over a tree or rock.
2. The controller radiator is located in the exact spot where all the small tree branches that fly under the front wheel hit and also were all the mud builds up (just did 35 Km in the forest today and I can tell you I had over 1 kg of mud in that exact spot in less than 15 km)
3. The body of the bike has to be of plastic with crumple space so when you crash the plastic will absorb the impact before the metal case is crushing your bones.
4. Ditch that seat frame and make a classical triangle in between the fork, engine and seat and make the seat double for 2 people and maximize a storage space underneath so you don t have to carry a backpack with cloths, tools, snacks, water, survival emergency kit, medical kit. If the bike tail is not over all the back wheel the mud will fly on the back of your head.
5. You have to be able to hold tight the bike with your legs/knees in standing up and on the seat position to stabilize it in ruff terrain and also to put less stress on your arms so you have better endurance.
6. Make it waterproof !!!
If you address these points I will absolutely sell mine and get one from you.

5. I agree. The current design is very good for holding the frame with legs when standing up.
6. I agree, it’s designed to be waterproof obviously.

Thanks for considering my ideas. I want to see the final design before I order because I really love what you guys do and I like a lot this specific design apart from the seat frame and ergonomics. In the current state I would order it but then have to ditch the seat frame and pay someone else to build a double seat with as big as possible storage space underneath and have to mold some how a plastic body which is pretty expensive as a one of. I will closely watch the future details on this project and I already put for sale my ebike and a truck so funds will be available by the time you get closer to a final design. Another thing it would be interesting to look in to is to see if it's possible for the inbuilt charger to be compatible with a small petrol generator. For example I have a small 4 stroke generator that makes 800 W/h but my charger is 840 W/h and the generator cuts as soon as I connect the charger. So it would be awesome if you could select a few power levels that the charger is requiring. This feature is also a safety feature as Lithium batteries degrade over time and some might wish to charge them slower especially if they live in a very hot region.
Thanks. The charging current is fully adjustable in the controller setting. I tweak the charging speed all the time.

Yes, the brake hose will go through the frame on the finished product.
For Offroading, its important to be able to grip the bike with your legs, I thnk some more body panels on the sides so limbs don't get caught if you go down, and some padding so you can have the ability to pinch the bike while standing. Probably easy mods if someone were to purchase too.
Out of all the bikes we offer, this one pinches the best when standing

For the production model, you're obviously going to want fenders. Also, would getting mud caked onto the fins of the controller module be a problem. Cause with that sticking out of the bottom of the battery box it's going to happen.
You'd probably also want to extend the seat. There will be times when riders want to duck down a bit and that usually involves sliding your butt back on the seat so your throat isn't right over the handlebars. (passing cars on a road or trails with low hanging branches would be 2 examples)
Other than minor details that's a VERY nice bike you've built.
Like a couple of other people have suggested, powder coating would be the way to go. It's very durable and looks good. I'd go with a bright color contrast. Black/yellow or Black orange so it gets noticed and talked about. (more sales) Maybe black for the frame and yellow or orange for the seat frame, fenders, and a nice bright graphic for the sides of the battery box.

I think its a great design. I'm glad to see some other frame ideas out there. Personally I would have gone with larger tires. I prefer a 21" front 18" rear. The parts look very similar to current Surron's out there you might consider just selling the frame and battery back as an upgrade kit for those bikes. I'm sure there's a lot of people out there who bought a surron and wish it was just a little larger. Less pit bike and more motorcycle. I could also see a version of the sub frame be adjustable height so it could accommodate more riders.

When bending tube past I believe it's 30° you need to weld the tube shut on both ends and fill it with pressurized air add a minimum but a Newtonian based fluid would be best when using Newtonian based fluids though you must leave 1/10 of whatever space it is empty as Newtonian based fluids are noncompressible so it would cause the pipe to rupture as you bend it if you overfill it but if you feel it just right you can bend any pipe you can make a complete circle without putting a kink in it
Would weld on a valve and then cut it off after the bend ?
Can you use water ? Or air by itself ?
