    His feel for the music is just insane. The way he listened for the bridges and buildups and absolutely nailed them.

      @@jimjungle8488 she listened to the whole song before playing. Chad didn't. Not even close to being compared. But she did great. Just can't be compared. He played literally blind. She listened to the entire song first.

      @@Mark-cf5od and? jimjungle didn't make ANY comparative criticism about their performances at all. they simply said to go check out her performance. why did you assume it was some kind of one-upmanship or anything?

      Not all of them do a bunch of takes. Everyone else listens to the whole song yeah, but several of the more veteran drummers have done a single run of the song from start to finish in a single take.

      Nobody has done what Chad did, so far the most outstanding performance because he did it as the song played for the first time for him w/out the drum track

    @4:20 I think his stick breaking gave the song a nice breath❤with the bass drum coming through more. It really prepped and reinforced the lead singer’s climax; pounding home the point. 🥁🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🎸🎧

    If I heard correctly when Chad tried out for drummer Flea looked at him and said keep up, started playing his guitar and Chad played the drums and thats how he auditioned. I could be wrong but i have heard that from several sources.

    I love seeing people's reactions to this because a lot of laypeople miss the fact that Chad isn't just a skilled drummer, he has such a depth of knowledge about composition he could correctly predict the structure of the song and the musical arrangement.
    I think there are a lot of incredible drummers in the world, but I've never seen one who could get this close to the original on the first try simply through instinct and and based on a remarkable understanding of composition.

      Even before this video came out, I had thought for a long time that Chad was an underrated drummer. Not necessarily from what he has done with RHCP, but clinics and other videos. Glad this video is showing the non believers that he is actually a great drummer.

      Umm... This doesn't require that much "depth of knowledge" this is VERY typical song structure that you've heard thousand times. 😂I mean he's great but let's not go too hard on the dick riding.

    As a born and raised drummer, I completely agree with you saying Flea wouldn't sound as good without Chad. Short story: Several years ago, my friends and I wanted to make a band, but there was already a better drummer, so they said to learn to play bass. I modeled my bass playing around the shared relationship between drums and bass with RHCP. Turned out that it didn't completely suck, and it made me a fairly decent bass player.

  • @Padfoot1985
    @Padfoot1985 3 месяца назад +3

    Why does everyone keep saying it's 6/8?
    It's in 3. And yes this is the music theory nerd taking the piss right now.
    It's in 3/4 not 6/8. The changes and buildup prove that this is more a waltz than a straight 1, 2 count. Which is how most everyone plays 6/8. Dividing each set of three into a single count.
    There is definitely a third beat in the phrase. So it's 3/4, not 6/8

    • @StrateleStudios
      @StrateleStudios  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Padfoot1985 you’re right. 👍

    • @TeamAurorapk
      @TeamAurorapk 3 месяца назад

      how is 3/4 not the same as 6/8, I'm not a musician I'm ignorant. I'm assuming it's not similar to measurements in building.

    • @Padfoot1985
      @Padfoot1985 2 месяца назад

      @@TeamAurorapk Because when songs are in 6/8, most people play it as a 2 count. They split the 3's into one beat. Instead of 1 2 3 4 5 6 it becomes 1...2...with kind of a swaying feeling. It's hard to describe over text.
      This song has very much a 3 part phrase. There is a 3rd beat in the flow and it isn't just jumbled together. A traditional waltz is the best example. There is emphasis on the 3rd beat and it doesn't just get left behind in the pulse. There's a reason why it's 1 2 3 1 2 3 instead of 1...2...
      It's two measures of 3. Not one measure of 6/8 because of that last beat.
      Music theory for the win. Why did you think 3/4 existed as a time instead of everything just being 6/8?

    • @TeamAurorapk
      @TeamAurorapk 2 месяца назад

      @@Padfoot1985 I thank you for the detailed response, honestly though it seems I'm to ignorant of music theory and structure to understand the simple parts of music, I tried watching a video on the difference between the 2 but I found the same problem just never learned enough in the subject to even understand a conversation.
      thank you though!
